Rep. Louise Slaughter, a New York Democrat, compared Republican efforts to revoke taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business to actions taken by the Nazi regime in Germany during World War II.Slaughter’s comments came during a poorly-attended rally several national pro-abortion groups, including Planned Parenthood and NARAL, sponsored yesterday in Washington.“This is probably one of the worst times we’ve seen because the numbers of people elected to Congress. I went through this as co-chair of the arts caucus,” Slaughter said, according to a CNS News report. ”In ’94 people were elected simply to come here to kill the National Endowment for the Arts. Now they’re here to kill women.”Slaughter’s focus is also the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,” a bill that would apply to every federal program and department to ensure that pro-life advocates don’t have to pass several pro-life riders annually to ensure various parts of the federal government don’t fund abortions with taxpayer dollars. Slaughter made the false charge that the bill forces women to prove they were raped or a victim of incest to qualify for a publicly-funded abortion under the rare exceptions in the bill.“You are allowed to have an abortion if you have been raped or it’s a matter of incest,” said Slaughter. “However, you have to keep a receipt. Did you know that? It’s sort of like an old German Nazi movie. Show me your papers!”

Lets ignore the issue of the morality of Abortion for a moment, having issues with Abortions or wanting abortion to be illegal again, is not the same thing as wanting women to die. Her statement is uncalled for.
Indeed never mind whether abortion is or is not murder, you CANNOT seize people's money, and then force them to PAY for what they consider murder.
Thus NO FEDERAL FUNDING OF ABORTION.
Any ACLU supporter should be able to comprehend this. It protects the individual the same way that conscientious objection does.
I've been around the so-called pro-birth hippocrates. Lets correct the terminology. They are NOT PRO LIFE. But PRO-BIRTH. I've never seen a so-called prolifer adopt special needs kids. Until they all do, they have no respect from me. When a my high school boyfriends's 14 year old sister became pregnant by her boyfriend. The church going, Baptist, so called PRO-LIFE mother took her immediately to the (non PP) clinic for an abortion. Why? Well we know that teenage pregnancy is a life altering event that is -- well ruinous. I saw the struggle of other friends who thought the 'right thing' was to raise the baby. Their lives and futures were RUINED. They told me secretly that they were very sorry that the event ever happened in their lives.
Pregnancy is a major event in a woman's life. Every decision a woman makes in life considers the possibility of expected or un-expected pregnancy. It is a physical condition and powerful risk taking event that can kill women. Planned Parenthood has helped MILLIONS of women control their fertility. Without judgement. They are strong on PREVENTION of the tragedy of an unplanned pregnancy. Especially for teens and young women. Read the history of the the woman who founded the organization and see her fight to help women control the number of children they bear. Children by choice, not chance is their philosophy. I've been a patient of PP since I was a teen. They provide an invaluable service. Abortion has been around forever, Clinton was right, it needs to be safe, legal and rare.
