I wrote the following article in September when Terry Jones proposed the burning of a Quran the first time around. I think the article is as much relevant today as it was back then. Here goes it:
I don’t get why Muslims are up in arms about the planned/postponed Quran burning event. First, I don’t get what kind of stupid god they believe in who gets offended every two seconds. And second, wasn’t it their own caliph that started the practice of burning Qurans? Why aren’t they burning his grave down or attacking Saudi Arabia where he’s buried?
One of the authoritative Sunni hadiths from Sahih Bukhari enlightens us thus:
“Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman came to Uthman at the time when the people of Sham and the people of Iraq were Waging war to conquer Arminya and Adharbijan. Hudhaifa was afraid of their (the people of Sham and Iraq) differences in the recitation of the Qur'an, so he said to 'Uthman, "O chief of the Believers! Save this nation before they differ about the Book (Quran) as Jews and the Christians did before." So 'Uthman sent a message to Hafsa saying, "Send us the manuscripts of the Qur'an so that we may compile the Qur'anic materials in perfect copies and return the manuscripts to you." Hafsa sent it to 'Uthman. 'Uthman then ordered Zaid bin Thabit, 'Abdullah bin AzZubair, Said bin Al-As and 'AbdurRahman bin Harith bin Hisham to rewrite the manuscripts in perfect copies. 'Uthman said to the three Quraishi men, "In case you disagree with Zaid bin Thabit on any point in the Qur'an, then write it in the dialect of Quraish, the Qur'an was revealed in their tongue." They did so, and when they had written many copies, 'Uthman returned the original manuscripts to Hafsa. 'Uthman sent to every Muslim province one copy of what they had copied, and ordered that all the other Qur'anic materials, whether written in fragmentary manuscripts or whole copies, be burnt. Said bin Thabit added, "A Verse from Surat Ahzab was missed by me when we copied the Qur'an and I used to hear Allah's Apostle reciting it. So we searched for it and found it with Khuzaima bin Thabit Al-Ansari. (That Verse was): 'Among the Believers are men who have been true in their covenant with Allah.' (33.23)” Sahih Bukhari.
Now, it is well known that Muslims are hypocrites. This is just another example of hypocrisy on their part. As noted on this blog before and elsewhere, they are alright with their governments burning the Holy Bible and other books of non Islamic religious nature but when it comes to the Quran they just want to kill anyone who even thought about touching it with hands deemed unclean by Muslims.
What the above mentioned hadith shows is that burning a Quran, which is considered by Muslims of today as blasphemous, was employed as state policy by their dear caliph. He started it, go deal with him first!
I expect this from Muslims anyway. Yes, they will probably go out on the streets and endanger the lives of non Muslims all over and yes, burning a Quran would hurt their sensibilities…blah, blah, blah. What I don’t get is, where the hell’s the media when not just Bibles but Christians, human beings, are locked inside churches and then churches set on fire? Where are these so called “loving” Christians when in Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Sudan, Somalia, Egypt etc their Christian brothers and sisters are burned alive every day? Where is their love when their brethren are calling for help and they turn a blind eye?
You know, the Quran burning event is probably a stupid little idea but at the end of the day, it is what the people of that church know how to stand up to the idiocy of Islam. We can sit here and criticize that church as bigots and a cult but at least they are doing something…unlike millions upon millions of other Christians/infidels that just sit on their sorry butts and switch the channel whenever the news, if ever reported, comes on about Christians being killed.
I am neither in favor of nor against the Quran burning event. I am in favor of that church’s right to express what they want and I am also in favor of us not bending over backwards for the barbarians that call themselves Muslims. If I had to pick a side today, I would definitely back the church against Muslims. And if that comes at a cost, well I am ready to pay it.
And finally my message to General Petraeus: Instead of being worried about your enemy getting ticked off, you might want to let your soldiers patrol the streets with their rifles loaded and maybe, just maybe, let them shoot the bastards that are trying to kill them and grow a pair of balls and order them to shoot to kill!

Avenging Apostate,
Here's a video I found on the subject of Terry Jones and the issue of his Koran burning.
Terry Jones Is Not Responsible for the Murders of United Nations Workers
Damien,
Thanks for that video. Very appropriate.
Avenging Apostate,
You're Welcome.
Hi guys .
I thought these two statements are a bit surprising considering where they come from.
Ibrahim Hooper denounced the violence as “a completely inappropriate reaction” to the Florida preacher.
“Everybody has freedom of speech. In this case, even freedom to do stupid and reprehensible things. But everybody also has the responsibility to act in a way that doesn’t harm others or doesn’t lead to the harm of others,” Hooper said.
Imam Shamshad Nasir, an Ahmadiyya Muslim leader with Baitul Hamid Mosque in Chino, Calif., called Jones “a foolish pastor” but said his community “rejects any killing in the name of religion anywhere even if it is done in the name of the most sacred scriptures.”
Will,
I don't trust the people behind CAIR, but in this instance, if Hooper actually means what he said, I agree with him, and I don't think any civilized person would disagree. Apparently through, he did say it. I found the quotes you mentioned in this article.
Unrest spreads in Afghanistan
Will, the key in your comment is "Ahmadiyya" ..there are some to most muslims who reject them as 'believers' both for canonical reasons and for stupid beliefs like rejection of riots and murders over the actions of morons
Will & Damien,
I am not surprised by Hooper's comments. Notice this line: "But everybody also has the responsibility to act in a way that doesn’t harm others or doesn’t lead to the harm of others."
Uh, to me that still sounds like he's blaming the pastor for the murders in Afghanistan.
True his words are more "moderate" than other Muslims' (like the ones rioting in Afghanistan) but his thoughts on the incident are in no way different than those of other Muslims.
As for the Ahmadiyya, they can't wage war until they have a Caliph! and that;s that.
Will,
I think AA just hit the nail on the head about the Ahmadiyeh Muslims.
As I've told you before, I don't buy that they are actually peaceful. I've learned over the years to doubt first, and Muslims prove they are actually peaceful. Sufis aren't even peaceful and they are based in a brand of mystical Hinduism which demands peace.

Avenging Apostate,
Like I said, I don't trust the people running CAIR. But that statement about harm is vague enough that its hard to know actually what is meant by it. Ideally through, people would not do things that lead to the harm of other people, but who was responsible, Terry Jones or that Muslim mob in Afghanistan, who murdered the UN workers. If Hooper tries to blames Jones on the massacre I won't be surprised if he does.
I must admit that Avenging Apostate made some fair points, even if I feel somewhat 50/50 on what he wrote. Actually, I happen to think that Mr. Empanadas above summed things up best...
Trouble is, if you look at Avenging Apostate's profile it says he is from the United Arab Emirates, ergo he is a smelly camel jokey. And being a dumb camel jockey, his opinion is generally worthless. Sorry, displaying an Israeli flag does not change that.
My issue is what should we make of a sand monkey from the UAE criticizing Islam. Conflict of interest much? Perhaps he is an agent provacateur, or controlled opposition. I don't know. Even if his defection is sincere (and there's no reason to believe so), who's to say for how long? Turncoats are not to be trusted.
Personally, I would not trust this jawa as far as I can throw him...
