As we all know by now Pastor Jones (or Yosemite Sam as Bill Maher referred to him), burned a Quran and no one here (beside his massive congregation of about 24) knew.
But Hamid Karzai knew.
And publicized it by denouncing it to his countrymen, simultaneously announcing who he thinks will be around, influential, and probably in charge in a few years, which is to say the people who take a gintsu to the necks of any non muslim people around when they HEAR such an event might have occurred somewhere on earth.
Meanwhile we are giving out medals (and promotions, you can be CERTAIN) for restraint in action.
And in Pakistan…
Pakistan has privately demanded the Central Intelligence Agency suspend drone strikes against militants on its territory, one of the U.S.’s most effective weapons against al Qaeda and Taliban leaders, officials said.Pakistan has also asked the U.S. to reduce the number of U.S. intelligence and Special Operations personnel in the country, according to U.S. and Pakistani officials.
The U.S. strategy in the war in Afghanistan hinges on going after militants taking refuge in Pakistan. The breakdown in intelligence cooperation has cast a pall over U.S.-Pakistani relations, with some officials in both countries saying intelligence ties are at their lowest point since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks spurred the alliance.
Beyond the Afghan battlefield, officials believe that without a robust counterterrorism relationship with Pakistan, al Qaeda and other groups can operate with far greater impunity when planning attacks on the U.S. and Europe. The vast majority of attacks against the West in the last decade originated in Pakistan.

Timely. I have a similar post set for tomorrow. We are too stupid to compete in the propaganda arena with 7th century obscurantists, we don't have the will to fight, and we are ashamed of our western culture.
This is a dangerous combination.
We were tactically brilliant but strategically stupid. We didn't do it for nothing, AOW. We fought to give these people a shot at a better life. They blew it.

And he said it in the prosecution of a war against people of his own race, religion, culture, and nation.
Yet we stand around wringing our hands about treatment of the followers of a terrorizing 7Th. century pedophile and his moon-god. People who wouldn't think twice about completely obliterating our culture from the face of the earth if they could.
The accuracy of what I say may be argued, but I wholly believe it to the core of my heart and believe those that don't understand it are dangerously naive.
