The Idea Is Spreading?

(With a hat tip to Beamish)

A follow on to this post, read these words from Peter Orszag, Obama's former OMB director (dated September 14, 2011):
To solve the serious problems facing our country, we need to minimize the harm from legislative inertia by relying more on automatic policies and depoliticized commissions for certain policy decisions. In other words, radical as it sounds, we need to counter the gridlock of our political institutions by making them a bit less democratic. [source]
Beamish commented:
Wake up, people. Democrats are a threat to the American way of life in ways Islamic terrorists only wish they could be.

Astounding and sickening.

Pastorius,
It's treason.

I can't believe what we are seeing in the news the past several months.

Where is America headed to?

Remember THIS last July from Obama?

"The idea of doing things on my own is very tempting. I promise you, not just on immigration reform. But that's not how our system works. That's not how our democracy functions. That's not how our Constitution is written," Obama said at the National Council of La Raza's annual conference.

All of the pieces are coming together.

The FCC's Net Neutrality regulations begin Nov. 20.

We’ve got politicians openly talking about suspending elections.

We’ve got a President who’s said numerous times that he's tempted but cannot just bypass Congress.

We’ve got an Attorney General who is implicated in a widespread operation of gunrunning in a backdoor effort to undermine the Second Amendment.

This is not the America our Founding Fathers envisioned.

NYC Mayor Tells U.N.: Healthy Foods Are Government‘s ’Highest Duty' as well. . .Statism is expanding at an ever alarming pace.
I, as many others, feel helpless to stop the (forgive the pun) fast and furious assault on our Constitutional Republic. Where's all the checks and balances?

AOW,
I do, indeed, remember that quote from Obama. It was the first thing that came to mind.

And, you're right. It is treason.

Pastorius,
I'm in a state of despair over the future of our nation. Is there any way to reverse what's happening?

It would probably help a lot if our side played like a fucking team, instead of a bunch of special interests who wanted to pick their favorite boutique candidate.

Sometimes I think our movement (anti-Jihad) is more interested in picking Pamela Geller's next boyfriend than we are in serving the best interests of this country.

Robert Spencer and Pamela are now ripping on Herman Cain, because he is the frontrunner.

Why do you think that is, AOW?

It's uncanny, isn't it?

I have read those posts yet because of my work schedule.

That said, I am of the opinion that those of us who believe that it's so important that Obama not get re-elected had better tread carefully and not sink the ship. Pardon my mixed metaphors.

Why this desire from so many (not only Robert and Pamela) to sink possible GOP candidates? I do have some theories on that matter.

One thing is clear to me: there will not be a perfect GOP candidate. Indeed, rarely in American history has their EVER been a perfect candidate -- not even the sainted Ronald Reagan. Frankly, I don't view Reagan as one who would have seen the Islamic threat for the grave danger it is.

Pastorius said...

Reagan certainly did not understand the gravity of the Islamic threat during his lifetime. He backed out of Lebanon like a big pussy.

Anyway, yep, there are no perfect candidates.

But, there are some who are electable, and some who aren't .

Michele Bachmann, in my opinion, was never electable.

Others who are not electable, in my opinion:

Huntsman, Romney, and Chris Christie.

I think of the three, Romney has a shot, IF, Obama keeps on his losing streak, which has gotten so bad of late.

If things get a little better, just a little, Obama will trounce Romney.

Cain and Perry are the only two who are electable as products (which is what Candidates are).

Pastorius said...

I had gotten off the Herman Cain bandwagon early, because I thought he had sunk himself with the "I would not have a Muslim in my cabinet" comment.

But, he has, once again, gained traction.

Perry has none now.

Cain was my favorite Candidate in the beginning, and is still my favorite.

My favorites for the future are Jindal and Rubio.

Romney polls better against Obama than any other Republican. Plus he's not bad on the National Question
