Salon writer opposes Israel's right to self-defense

A writer for Salon named Bill van Esveld has attacked Israel's right to maintain security against Islamofascist threats. The main problem is how he hasn't presented what he claims is evidence against IDF soldiers:
But scores of witness accounts and videos over the years have shown Israeli troops shooting, firing tear gas and throwing concussion grenades at Palestinian protesters who were clearly peaceful and posed no risk to life or property. In another Bil'in case, for example, the Israeli rights group B'Tselem collected videos and other evidence showing that in April 2009, a soldier killed Bassem Abu Rahme by firing a high-velocity tear-gas canister directly at him from 30 meters away, and that he had not thrown stones, damaged the separation barrier or otherwise endangered soldiers. A military investigation into his death is ongoing.
So he relies upon the "testimony" of a bunch of phonies like B'Tselem and at the same time, presents none of the "witness accounts" or videos he speaks of. No, there aren't any on the page he's written. And if the allegedly peaceful protestors were actually throwing rocks and other projectiles at the IDF, then either van Esveld is a liar or B'Tselem concealed all that. What about the recent horrifying incident where rocks were thrown that struck an infant only 20 months old?

Let this serve as an example of just how rock bottom Salon's writers can be.

Avi Green,

If he doesn't support Israel's right to self defense, than for all intense and purposes, he doesn't support Israel's right to exist. I don't know, if this guy hates Israel or just doesn't understand how the world works. Maybe he actually naively believes that if Israeli troops didn't fight back, Palestinians would stop attacking them. If so, he's living in a dream world.

Damien, How old are you? I'm just curious. You're kind of sweet. In a polite manners sort of way. And you're Canadian, right?

Btselem = Jstreet. (LITERALLY it was merged into it here)

xlation, the consistency of the dialectic is the goal, and 'truth' must serve it.
