Why would Israel or the West CONTINUOUSLY telegraph a warning it’s about to attack?

Never mind Sun Tzu, or even Bismarck, this drumbeat of ‘we’re serious, we’re coming’ is the most stupid tactic I have ever seen

IF THEY ARE REALLY INTENDING AN AIR ATTACK

IMHO: If an attack is really under serious consideration in the near future it WILL BE a very unconventional in nature.

Otherwise this is all way past irresponsible if you fly F-15’s and F-16’s for the IAF.

The Brits are doing NO ONE a favor with this crap. If Israel is desperate enough to attack Iran, SHUT UP because making it more difficult as a result of foreign warning, will not be the SLIGHTEST deterrent

Today’s idiotic schpiel, from the Daily Mail:

Senior Foreign Office figure: ‘We’re expecting something as early as Christmas, or very early in the new year’
Israel will launch military action to prevent Iran developing a nuclear weapon as soon as Christmas, intelligence chiefs have warned.

A report by a UN watchdog into Iran’s nuclear ambitions ‘completely discredits’ the Islamic nation’s protestations of innocence, according to Foreign Secretary William Hague.

The International Atomic Energy Agency found that Iran is developing a nuclear test facility, nuclear detonators and computer modelling for a nuclear warhead that would fit on an existing missile.

Sources say the understanding at the top of the British Government is that Israel will attempt to strike against the nuclear sites ‘sooner rather than later’ – with logistical support from the U.S.

A senior Foreign Office figure has revealed that ministers have been told to expect Israeli military action, adding: ‘We’re expecting something as early as Christmas, or very early in the new year.’

I understand what you're saying, but we also have the boy who cried wolf effect too here which can possibly be an even better cover in the long run.
Just a possible tactic IMO.

Rattle their cage. Nothing riles the muslim mind more than the defiant Jew/opponent.
Also consider that Israel is going to face incredible blow back from her supposed allies - should she pull the trigger. She is facing not just her intended target, she is also considering the potential for her 'allies' undermining her efforts diplomatically, strategically, and militarily.
Israel is contemplating all possiblities by shaking things up.

It will not be around Christmas time. That is the height of the tourist season; and a strike before the New Year would kill tourism and wreck the Israeli economy.

This misinformation campaign is to measure Iran's diplomatic and military response to the threat. The first casualty of war is the truth.

I have been thinking the same thing Epa and getting really pissed about it.

Seems these days, nothing is secret anymore.
