Let’s HEAR IT for Emma Sullivan

So the high school kid gets to see the governor of KS, and tweets:

“Just made mean comments at gov. brownback and told him he sucked, in person #heblowsalot.”

And the gov’s staff then launches an all out campaign to get the kid to apologize, right down to pressuring her principle, WHO CAVED (nice leading by example there).

Sullivan, who disagrees with Brownback’s stance on paying for the arts, got reprimanded by her school over the tweet (at the request of the governor’s office), a move that backfired and earned her thousands of followers on Twitter.

Finally Brownback weighs in …

My staff over-reacted to this tweet, and for that I apologize. Freedom of speech is among our most treasured freedoms. I enjoyed speaking to the more than 100 students who participated in the Youth in Government Program at the Kansas Capitol. They are our future. I also want to thank the thousands of Kansas educators who remind us daily of our liberties, as well as the values of civility and decorum. Again, I apologize for our over-reaction.

I smell rotten crow.

Sam Brownback should be apologizing.

He also ought to fire those staff members, as they don't understand the Constitution. And, a basic understanding of the Constitution ought to be a prerequisite for working in a Governor's office.

States Rights people might disagree with me on that. If so, fuck it. I ain't gonna argue with you.

Secede.
