Well, that was LAST year. Now the consumer of what you eat, and the consumer of your health history, and your financial history, and your other online purchases …and your BROWSING, and your cell phone use,  well … um….

Do you have gmail and was your laptop stolen? Did you tell a friend by email, or google chat, or hangout, and now you wonder why you are seeing all those HP, and Asus latptop ads?

Someone hit you and you filed a claim and now you are inundated with auto and insurance emails and ads?

These databases are income sources. When you have a privacy agreement and the source goes bankrupt (BORDER’S ANYONE?) who buys the database, and are they bound? Who checks? Who CAN check?

"Marketing firms have sold this data to retailers and credit-card companies for years, and health plans have recently discovered they can use it to augment claims data," reports the Wall Street Journal. 

The title of that article, by the way, is, “How the Insurer Knows You Just Stocked Up on Ice Cream and Beer.” It opens with this paragraph:

Your company already knows whether you have been taking your meds, getting your teeth cleaned and going for regular medical checkups. Now some employers or their insurance companies are tracking what staffers eat, where they shop and how much weight they are putting on — and taking action to keep them in line.

So go to Whole Foods and buy that cauliflower, and organic baby bok choy, and drop ANY loyalty cards, and pay in cash. FORGET THE BACON if you pay by card or use a supermarket card.

And by the way, why is everyone in your family buying Sudafed? Are you some Heisenberg?

Of course, says the FBI, if you do everything in cash, OBVIOUSLY you have something to hide, and ARE trying to hide something.

Well you cannot help buying everything online with a card, but if you buy stuff locally, use coupons, and pay in cash.
