Obamacare sign up attempt on 10-25, and a word about those new ‘ESTIMATES’ of premiums

I have received tweets, emails, and comments in other places which have been incredulous, and/or called me a liar so I am going to post the actual plans and figures.

For a plan which covers ~80% of costs  (Gold, no platinum available in Maine) the healthcare.gov is for anyone over 50, ‘estimated’ to be ~$600-675 (this is NOT EVEN the health co-op base rate, btw, which they state on THEIR site as $1,005).

I am area 3, factor=0.9487 (Anthem is NECESSARY since only 1 cardiologist is on the other plan in this ENTIRE area)

I will be 64 on the day this starts, so, my age factor is now 3.0

On bottom line above we can see the Anthem Gold plan factor is NOW 1.6963 and the base rate is $1,250.

Premium = 1250 * 1.6963 * 0.9487 * 3.0

Premium = JOKE. Yo do the arithmetic, it is too horrible to actually print the number out.

OFFICIAL US GOVT ‘ESTIMATE’ = ~10% of actual cost

Of course, I can select the coop, hope for the best in terms of estimate and HAVE ACCESS TO ONE CARDIOLOGIST along with everyone else who goes to this tertiary care medical center (covers area about 1/3 the state of Maine) and then HOPE their base rate is not as the State of Maine site indicates the computation which would NOW be the $3905. Note the prices are going UP.

Is the Obamacare site, and idea STUPID, IGNORANT, OR IS IT THE MINISTRY OF TRUTH?

$3900 or $6034/month? Do the subsidies even matter? Which of my children am I asking for this money every month?

Which of YOUR children am I demanding it from?

I’d rather OPT OUT and take my chances until Dec of NEXT year when I am eligible for what I paid in to my entire working life. 2 Heart attacks and THAT’S how I feel. An easy call.

Unless you have a horrible sickness, and a direct need which cannot be addressed any other way, WOULDN’T YOU FEEL THAT WAY?

This is socialism. These choices, these demands, these guilts, these slyly addicted means of dependence.
