Merry Christmas

Back when I was in school, there wasn't any of this ban Christmas shit. I went to school with all kinds. Atheists, Jews and every other religion or non religion that existed. Not once did I hear or feel that they felt their rights were being invaded or something. On the contrary, we all had a total blast around Christmas time. Parties, concerts, food, singing, ringing our bells out in the community.

This country is getting totally fucked up. Piece by piece, everything that was fun is being taken away because SOMEONE MIGHT NOT LIKE IT.

Everyone is so damn worried about what someone might not like, that there is no longer time to just have fun.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to those who believe. Those who don't can just go on ignoring it, like you are suppose to and how you use to do.

To all you fantastic bloggers: Merry Christmas!

My mother lost her mom when she was just 3, had four older brothers, and two sisters, one 2 and one 40 days old. My grandfather was lost in his pain, and placed the three little girls with relatives. After my mom was older, she went to live with a Jewish family who vacationed close to their farm, and she spent there most of her teenage years, and early adulthood. The family had two boys much younger than my mom, and at Christmas time, that Jewish family was no different from their neighbors. They put up the Christmas tree, exchanged gifts, and nobody thought their rights were being violated. They lived in a Christian country, and they did not think twice about it.

I was talking to my son today about how this country has changed for the worse, and he thinks that turning this around will not be possible. How to fix for instance the damage of Obamacare? People lost their covers, thousands of doctors are no longer practicing, and that is just one problem. But the worst damage is that done to the minds of our young people, mainly of those 30 and under. The change they underwent will hard to reverse.

I have said this many times. We are jewish and practice. We love the holiday, the spirit and the reason for Christmas.
The spirit intended to be invoked at Christmas time is what is important to us and is what we take from it, NOT whether or not we accept Jesus as son of God or Messiah.
Every time we see a tree decorated or WE HELP DECORATE ONE, see the lights, hear the music, ESPECIALLY the serious music, we are reminded of that spirit, and that FEELING suffuses us, and we BATHE in the goodness of that. It is a GOOD.

We as a family simply do NOT understand what the problem is.
It's a blank spot.

That there are some people who live to be professional 'grievancers' is a wonder.

Isn't there something in them which recognizes the good?
SOMETHING?

Thank you Epa for that. To me, that is exactly what Christmas is suppose to be. It's the spirit of the season.

Joyfulness, family, a break in the middle of winter, gift giving which many people actually enjoy.

For those who want to take it further into the religious, there is church and worship.

The way your family feels about it, is the way it use to be for most that were not Christians.

That is what I remember and wish could come back.

Ironically, I have spent many Christmas Eves in Catholic Churches, and sung more than my fair share of Bach Contatas.

The feeling for God is ONE.
