The Maine Frontier update

Power has gone out, or been out EVERY DAY now.
Right now it is out, but cable and therefore internet is on, and so is the generator.
3 days ago it was -18 actual outside and reached a high of -4.
Yesterday it was 52 with heavy rain and the temp since dropped to 13 with 34-45 mph wind from the NW (this combo with all the ice from the previous storms is why the power is like we're in Upper Volta)
These are the outages in eastern Maine at noon. According to Emera, the power company... we can expect this particular outage to go to at LEAST 6PM.

I have to go now and kill a bear for dinner.

It was Zero real -19 wind-chill last night in Reading. Daughter on Kenai peninsula in Alaska had a low of 26 real, 20 (ABOVE 0) wind-chill.

At least our power stayed on.

Polar Vortexes Suck.

BTW, moose is far tastier than bear.

Recognition and thanks to those who brave these treacherous conditions and beyond frosty temps to restore power for those safely hunkered down in their humble abodes.

Day time high 05 feels like - 17.

This morning -15 feels like -33.

Garbage collectors didn't come.......can't blame them, Toronto airport, planes could take off, but no planes landing equipment broke down to receive them.
