It's Safer Than Ever To Be a Policeman - So Why Are The Cops Militarizing Up?

From Ace:

Law enforcement deaths this year dropped to their lowest level since 1959, while the decade of the 2000s was among the safest for officers, despite the deadliest single day for police on Sept. 11, 2001.
"To reach a 50-year low in officer deaths is a real credit to the law enforcement profession and its commitment to providing the best possible training and equipment to our officers,'' said Craig Floyd, the Memorial Fund chairman and chief executive officer.

"The weaponry is totally different now that it was in the beginning of my career, plus, you have a lot of people who are coming out of the military that have the ability and knowledge to build IEDs and to defeat law enforcement techniques."
Downing goes on to relate how citizens approach the vehicle when it stops at gas stations to express their concerns that the militarization of police is about arming cops with the tools required for mass gun confiscation programs.

In a logical world, the local police militarize to address returning seasoned militants from foreign jihad. That these militants are permitted to return is beyond insane. Insane is allowing student/work visas of Muslim imports to expire and not follow up. To ignore the life-threatening doctrine of Islam is suicide.

But we all know local law enforcement is militarizing to address those of us who believe in the rule of law and insist government honor their oath to the US Constitution. A constitution which is obsolete and problematic to those currently in power.

Dark days ahead.
