Arming rebels in the middle east? THIS TIME there will be no excuses

After 1979, as detailed in George Crile’s, Charlie Wilson’s War, and Steve Coll’s incredible Ghost Wars the USA’s program to defeat the USSR’s invasion of Afghanistan involved arming what turned out much later to be the Northern Alliance, lead by Shah Massoud, but Pakistan under Zia ul Haq, for allowing transport of ‘stuff’ also took 50% of CIA ‘aid’, and it went to their creation, the Taliban.
Whether or not we were naive, I cannot tell you. But I PERSONALLY remember a clip I wish I could find, in an interview by Barbara Walters of Zia. He asked POINT BLANK of Ms Walters with a rather self assured smirk - what on earth made her sure that democracy was the final and best form of government for mankind? This was in the 80’s. Did we UNDERSTAND what he was really saying? Zia famously did not drink, etc, and we can all see today his behavior was in line with orthodox and threatening sharia.
This then laid a major part of the foundation for today’s chaos.
Now THIS from the Washington Post.

U.S. weighs expanded CIA training, arming of Syrian allies struggling against Assad

The Obama administration has been weighing plans to escalate the CIA’s role in arming and training fighters in Syria, a move aimed at accelerating covert U.S. support to moderate rebel factions while the Pentagon is preparing to establish its own training bases, U.S. officials said.
The proposed CIA buildup would expand a clandestine mission that has grown substantially over the past year, U.S. officials said. The agency now vets and trains about 400 fighters each month — as many as are expected to be trained by the Pentagon when its program reaches full strength late next year.
The prospect of expanding the CIA program was on the agenda of a meeting of senior national security officials at the White House last week. A White House spokesman declined to comment on the meeting or to address whether officials had reached a decision on the matter.“We need a little more urgency in helping the moderates, and the agency was viewed as the best way to get that going fast,” said a senior U.S. official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, citing the sensitivity of the Syria debate.
In the last six years one of the VERY few ideas of B Obama I have agreed with is that IF there were a bunch of high school history teachers and pharmacists prepared to destroy Al Nusra, Al Qaeda, ISIS and Assad and then in victorious splendor administer a middle east Bill of Rights they existed only in the mind of delusional people in the CIA and State Dept, whose tortuous logic placed them 5 sd’s from reality.
This REMAINS the fact. Any arms, or training we give will be to Al Nusra, Al Qaeda, and ISIS directly or inadvertently, or to dead or future captured men who will fight with Al Nusra, Al Qaeda, and ISIS.
There are NO MODERATES we can train who have the SLIGHTEST possibility of succeeding (without the USMC, and 3rd and 4th ID’s)
Why?
For the same reason that NO MODERATE SECULAR GOVT HAS EVER BEEN FREELY ELECTED IN THE MIDDLE EAST.
The people of the middle east do NOT WANT moderate govt.
So unless the plan is to install our own gentler and kinder Assad, there is only ONE possible response to the news that such a plan is under consideration or actually being carried out.

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

The Canadian p.m. has just announced that they want to make clear they are not at war or fighting against the government of Syria. ISIS, and only ISIS.

Whoever still believes the WH acts out of naiveté should have his or her head examined ....

All the claims against Assad were because of the atrocities he was committing while defending his survival, and that of his people. Now that we can see what those he was mistreating are able to do, well let´s support Assad. We are all fighting the same animals.

We should have let them to kill each other, but we were to wise for that ....

Under NO circumstances should we 'support' Assad.
We should if anything FORGET Syria, AND Iraq and be 100% behind the Kurds with arms, and air support, material and training and AID THEM in creating a Kurdistan which reaches from inside Iran to the Med.
The Kurds are the largest national group on earth WITHOUT a nation.

And if that cannot work then the entire hope of this nation for the ME will rest with ISRAEL.

AND ONLY ISRAEL
