Yesterday, we got this story:
Police searching for one man who exchanged gun fire with Millis officer
MILLIS - Police are searching for one white male between the ages of 25 and 40 who they believe fired at an officer at about 2:26 p.m. on Forest Road, Millis Police Sgt. William Dwyer said at a 5 p.m. press briefing.
The search was expected to continue until about 6 p.m., Dwyer said, and residents have been advised to "shelter in place." Dwyer said a man driving a maroon pickup truck, possibly a Ford F150, fired at a police officer on Forest Road.
The officer returned fire, firing two or three shots, before the cruiser caught on fire. When I heard the story yesterday, I thought, "What the fuck? Why did it catch on fire?"
I wondered briefly if it was hit by a rocket.
Then I stopped thinking about it because Black Lives Matter assassinations of Police Officers are becoming so common, and they aren't really the subject of this blog, generally.
But today, this story:
THE OFFICER SHOT OUT HIS OWN CRUISER, AND MADE UP THE WHOLE STORY
