Trump is 100% right on border security and trade deals killing US economy ..ENOUGH TO WIN?

Full disclosure, I am not a Trump supporter, and as yet I am not supporting ANYONE.
I have always believed that what to do about illegal immigrants HERE NOW, and border security are 2 separate issues, and efforts to LINK them were, in fact, a means for corporate republicans and Wall Street democrats, to frustrate those who demanded for more than a generation, a secure border.
I have ALSO always believed that  the USA with a FEW exceptions, would be best served by an immigration policy like that before 1924. This is a policy which, since BEFORE the Civil War, made the USA what it is.
HIGH WALLS, and WIDE GATES.
Mr. Trump has EXPOSED the Republican party’s faux border security support as a FINAL STRAW, I think.
Many of us who simply cannot be what the Democratic party is today (and I am someone who helped ORGANIZE anti Vietnam protests, and ran from police during the Cambodia/Kent State explosions) feel equal disgust with the current Republican party ‘leadership’ which is indistinguishable from any other part of the POLITICAL CLASS.
Mr. Trump was equally successful in exposure of the series of trade agreements we now know as FREE TRADE as having gutted the middle class of the USA - actually the disposable income of the middle class which, PS, is what POWERED THIS PLANET.
These same people who despise the Republican leadership, could listen to what Bernie had to say about bankers and by proxy, the Democratic leadership, since Glass Steagle was weakened (1976, Red Lining) and then destroyed through today and agree WITH HIM, as well. What did he say? That what the banks did over subprime mortgages to the people and the USA was fraud and criminal (morally and ethically I suppose since Congress had made their behavior legal), and that the few banks and other huge businesses now classified as too big to fail, have made things worse. He wants a RE IMPOSITION of Glass Steagle.
Anyone who thinks of themselves as conservative disagree?
Trump bothers me to a large extent, and his comments about Mexico SENDING ‘rapists’ is WRONG ON THE FACTS (nobody is SENDING ANYONE..we are an easy touch), and Bernie is, I think, a Communist, never mind a socialist (but Burlington where he was mayor was saved by his actions, and is a great town today).
So in this world where there are no perfect candidates to satisfy how we each feel about issues IMPORTANT to us, I have to wonder, if BOTH of these men are riding the disgust of the Americans with the lies, common lack of service and governance by the parties, their SERVITUDE to special interests and their revolving door among the govt-big biz and academia on the key failures of a few, but the most critical items to the nominations and to the White House.
If these men could do things like END illegal immigration, enforce FAIR TRADE (and thus prime the US economy for REAL GROWTH), and bring back Glass Steagle, breaking up TBTF … if we could KNOW one of them could do this, how many votes would they garner no matter WHAT ELSE they stood for?

Nice summary.

I really like what Trump is doing to the political establishment. That said, if he fails big-time it will reinforce the feeling of invulnerability in the Rove alliance which leads to DOOM. If he succeeds to the Presidency I fear it will be a repeat of Governor Schwarzenegger only on a national level. Either way constitutional conservatives will likely be seriously damaged.

Sanders does make sense on the issues you outline above and conservatives need to get back to some of these root notions. However, I don't see any way he can be elected.

Trump OTH is better than any conceivable Democratic nominee IMHO.

agree 100%

This may be a situation where Trump has identified what the people really want and whatever he felt before is valueless because the client is always right.
Given the morons at the helm on both sides of the aisle this passes for leadership simply because Trump is NOT the politicial class.

But that has nothing to do with whether he can DO THE JOB.
