DID TRUMP PREDICT 9/11 MORE THAN A YEAR BEFORE THE ATTACKS?

And is that why he has been so, seemingly arrogantly, criticizing President George W. Bush for his inaction PRIOR to 9/11?

Is it possible that, were Trump to have been President in 2001, we would not have been attacked at all?

From the Inquisitor:
A newly uncovered book seems to indicate Donald Trump predicted 9/11, the worst terrorist attacks to date on American soil, more than a year before it happened.
The liberal media and even some conservative outspoken critics have dismissed Donald Trump’s candidacy from the start, but after his unconventional debate appearances, the Republican hopeful continues to dominate the headlines and lead the polls.
Now, an article from Buzz Feed is making waves, because it seems to show Trump predicted 9/11 19 months before it happened. In his 2000 book The America We Deserve, the billionaire entrepreneur describes with chilling accuracy what would become a reality when terrorists hijacked planes on the morning of September 11, 2001.
“I really am convinced we’re in danger of the sort of terrorist attacks that will make the bombing of the Trade Center look like kids playing with firecrackers. No sensible analyst rejects this possibility, and plenty of them, like me, are not wondering if, but when it will happen.
“One day we’re told that a shadowy figure with no fixed address named Osama bin-Laden is public enemy number one, and U.S. jet fighters lay waste to his camp in Afghanistan. He escapes back under some rock, and a few news cycles later it’s on to a new enemy and new crisis.”
GO READ THE WHOLE THING.

What do you think?

Could it be that Trump, because he owns so much property in Manhattan, had gotten word that an attack was imminent?

Perhaps he had been told repeatedly that he had to build up security in his buildings and devise exit strategies for the people who worked in those building?

Perhaps he just happened to take these warnings more seriously than anyone else, including those with the most maximum security clearances who were running our nation at the time.

Would Trump have had the insight to recognize Gorelick's wall preventing national security agencies from communicating with each other?

Not likely. Trump wasn't politically running for office prior to 2000 - not likely to have been politically active to the extent one would believe he would have possessed such insight. How many elected politicians/journalists were prior to 9/11? Steven Emerson is one I can name.

Well, that is an interesting question, but how does it impinge on whether or not he recognized BETTER THAN BUSH the threat we were facing?

Here's the thing: Trump takes threats seriously. He doesn't spend all his effort on de-escalating. As a businessman, he spends his time assessing options. Usually guys who are CEO's have to work their way through tremendous amounts of decisions per day. They become good at understanding what is on the table.

I'm not sure that politicians understand real world impact well enough.

Even when bad shit happens, they are not TRULY accountable for it.

...but how does it impinge...?

The Gorelick wall is the excuse Bush's admin used for not having all the facts to prevent 9/11.

One assumes the same wall would have prevented any other candidate from stopping 9/11. Bush's ties with Saudi Arabia, his behaviors with their king, (holding hands, dancing with sword, evacuating Saudi nationals post 9/11 when no other commercial flights were active etc.)

However, post 9/11 might have been vastly different with Trump at the helm. Unfortunately, that is not something we will ever know.

Oh, I see what you mean.

I misunderstood the question.

Also, I have assumed the Gorelick wall would not be something that anyone would have been briefed about anyway. It has always seemed like one of those things that is almost absolutely invisible by the very fact that it exists.

The only way you can find out it's there is by something terrible happening.

Maybe I'm being thick.

Yes...

And then there was the idiotic 9/11 Commission. The Democrats put Gorelick on the commission with barely a peep of protest from the Republicans. They surrounded her with hyper partisan attack dogs while the Republicans fielded a sextet of third rate hacks led by Thomas Kean, former Governor of New Jersey. In the Big Leagues Kean wouldn't even count as bench strength.

Each of the Democrats focused exclusively on blaming Rice and Bush. They brought in the "Jersey Girls" to hoot and hiss from the audience. They allowed Clinton and Gore to give their testimony in private. Sandy Berger, a Democrat and Clinton National Security Advisor retrieved and destroyed classified information from the National Archives that presumably would have made the Clinton Administration look bad (but now we will never know.)

Only one Republican committee member, John Lehman, seemed to want to get the facts out. In the end the committee produced a single report that wasn't worth trees to it took to print.

If any Demonrat wrote anything close to that before 9/11 the media would have made damn sure everyone knew all the glorious details in their sleep by now.
That's what we're really up against.
