Shortly after his dismissal as head of the FBI, James Comey authorized “a close friend” to leak the contents of his memos to the press in order to prompt a special counsel investigation.
The memo, written contemporaneously, documented Comey’s Oval Office meeting with President Trump during which the president allegedly asked him to drop the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
“I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter,” Comey told the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday.
“I didn’t do it myself for a variety of reasons but I asked him to because I thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel.”From the Daily Caller:

North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr, the Republican chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, asked Comey, “Did the president at any time ask you to stop the FBI investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 U.S. elections?”
The former FBI director replied, “Not to my understanding, no.”
Burr followed up by asking if any member of the administration made this request, and Comey replied, “no.”And yesterday, Comey admitted that he had told Trump three times that Trump, personally, was not under investigation:

I heard Rush Limbaugh say today (I heard only a few snippets and am not a regular Rush listener), "CNN is lying. Right now. On the air."
I heard Rush say this could be all about forever souring our elections so that nobody trusts the results of subsequent elections.
Never mind that there is no evidence that anyone hacked the election results.
It's all about mis-direction. . .running the clock on statute of limitations against all involved in Clinton/Obama/dem corruption scandals.

Oh, yeah. I forgot. I was quite sick when all that "news" was released.
All this shit on Capitol Hill almost has to be running the clock out.
The Clinton Machine's tentacles extend everywhere. I doubt that we shall know the full extent of that machine in our lifetimes -- maybe 50 years from now the truth will come out.
