Duh! Amazon pays billions for Whole Foods and the objective is the acquisition of Whole Foods customer data? Not its business model, its customer base? That right!

Big Data has overcome Common Sense and hell to pay when all this ridiculous shit gets sorted out in the viable vs. non-viable Thunderdome that is coming up shortly. Lots of tech wonderkids gonna wonder what the fuck.

There is baseline of sense in this world and you can't escape it no matter how smart you believe you are, no matter how great a roll you are on.

Reality bites. Expect to see big time reality bites in the really near future.

Some months ago my wife rec'd a package in the mail from a company i never heard of. I left it sitting on the living room coffee table. My phone 10 ft away in dining room. My mom stopped by saw it and said out loud "what is such and such company."

Got on Facebook an hour or so later and THE FIRST ad that popped was for that company.

It is far more than lists and databases. They are listening and watching. What you say watch read and write. Believe it.

It is insidious and it is very dangerous.

MR - you r positing that a device in the box is communicating over your network back to company xxx and they are then pushing ads to your DB known phone?

You crazy paranoid gun toting freak waycist... EASILY POSSIBLE.

Less paranoid and as likely, purchase resulted in (by those 'I AGREE' boxes at purchase) exposure of your data to company who then had your fam phone #'s and PUSH ads

Both are PROBABLY illegal in some way, but it would take many such incidents across many families to get a class action underway. You going to go around asking if 'they' are listening, to find others?

Bring on the Thunderdome...

It’s not too late to save the free and open internet. Decentralized platforms built on the blockchain (including Gab in the near future) will inevitably give the power and control to The People and make the internet censorship-proof.
Gab wants to lead the creation of the next level of the internet. If Web 2.0 was about centralized, social, and mobile networks: Web 3.0 will be a decentralized, blockchain-based, radically transparent, people-powered internet infrastructure.

We are actively looking for a new registrar. This post will hopefully inspire other teams to start building or attract talented engineers to Gab who want to help us protect the free and open web. Until then, we will continue to build and fight for the freedoms we cherish.

Epa - it wasn't a purchase. A business associate sent it to her as a thank you for going out of her way to fix a problem.

If you provide me with links and information, I will post on the progress of such an endeavor.
