Iranian Protesters Rip Pants Off Revolutionary Guard After Crackdown Fails Miserably
The Basij militiaman, a paramilitary storm trooper of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, was reportedly swinging an electric shock baton when the crowd of angry protesters closed in around him.
“They got a Basij, hold him!” one man shouted as the demonstrators pulled away the militiaman’s baton and knocked him to the ground in the largely Kurdish city of Kermanshah.
But rather than beat the man to death, the crowd struck a different kind of blow against Iran’s authoritarian regime: they stripped him of his trousers and sent him stumbling and humiliated into the cold night.
GO READ THE WHOLE THING.

This will end badly for Iranians. This will not have a good outcome. Many innocent protesters will either be jailed or killed.

History will repeat itself. There will not be a Persian Spring.
TLEP I sadly agree. And this revolt makes me very uneasy because I don't know how our president will react, other than the Tweets, of course ...
Surely, he must be aware there is nothing he can do.
The only thing we could do is train dissidents and supply weapons to them for the future.
Training and/or arming anti-government forces is a terrible business model and a worse geopolitical doctrine. We should not be in the business of fomenting internal dissent. If it is organic and has a natural progression, then great. We can help at the end-point, not the flash point. Don't forget that what we have today is a by-product of what Kermit Roosevelt created in Iran, at the behest of our government. Kermit, in his own stupid way, set the stage for what happened in 1979.
Libya? Clinton created a cluster. We lost an ambassador. The images of him coming off jihad portals were viewed by me, but not for publication. Things... get nasty.
Syria? We armed, and armament ended up in the wrong hands, as noted by cache of crated weapons with U.S. signature in enemy hands. We armed, and government lackey Elizabeth O'Bagy fed us bull with her falsified creds and Pinocchio nose. Senator McCain rewarded her by hiring her after her downfall.
There are approximately 20 living Grand Ayatollah. Throw in the Ayatollah and Hojjut-al-Islam beneath them, and it is a formidable chain. Bloody turf wars are fought over financial market share. Their deputies are spread across the world, including offices in London, with which I have had interface, and they run parallel parliamentary structures in the West.
This fight, cannot be won on the streets. It is a fight worthy a formidable President.
