Hurricane Cost May Skyrocket As Billions In Stealth Fighter Jets Unaccounted For; Tyndall AFB "Complete Loss"

From Zero Hedge:
After Hurricane Michael rendered Tyndall Air Force Base a "complete loss" from "widespread, catastrophic damage" - questions remain over nearly two-dozen F-22 Stealth Fighters which are unaccounted for.
According to the New York Times, Tyndall is home to 55 stealth fighters, "which cost a dizzying $339 million each." Before Michael hit, the Air Force evacuated at least 33 of the planes to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, however they would not comment on the status of the remaining 22 fighters.

Hawaii. They were not left at the base.

I read that title and I'm open mouthed...WTF?!!! This would be like the Navy leaving ships in port with a hurricane approaching...unthinkable.

There is NO FREAKING WAY any F-22 would be left behind. If so, someone should literally be shot.

Is that right, Pete? Are they in Hawaii?

Just guessing. There is no way we let $7 billion of advanced fighter jets just get wiped out. We have been repositioning some of our stealth capabilities to Hawaii recently because of threats being made by China.

Aren't they basically obsolete
at this point? As in, they don't
have a mission anymore?

Yeah, they're obsolete, so maybe the government is trying to get the insurance money on them.

LOL

You see, each plane cost us $158 million. But as I recall, we had each plane insured for $200 million. That hurricane made us $850 million. Lol! With all due respect to Trading Places.

I was thinking they were referring to the F-117
