The SJW's are late to this party. I recall hysterical parents blaming D&D for all kinds of aberrant behavior in their teenage kids 30 years ago when I was working with cult-monitoring groups.
As for the weaponized autism, what's autistic about ferreting out obscure locations? I do that all the time with Google Maps Street View. Mind you, using commercial airline flight paths and star maps may be taking it a bridge too far...

I never got into D&D, so can't really comment on this development regarding same.
