Remember Marie Harf? She's Back.

As of Tuesday, January 23, 2017, she is a contributor to Fox News Channel.

Marie Harf popped up on the 7:00 P.M., EST, show The First 100 Days, hosted by Martha McCallum.  Ms. Harf is now wearing glasses.  To make her look more intellectual?  To disguise her?

According to Wikipedia:
Marie Elizabeth Harf (born June 15, 1981) was the Senior Advisor for Strategic Communications to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry at the United States Department of State, leading the Iran nuclear negotiations communications strategy. She previously served as Acting Spokesperson and Deputy Spokesperson of the State Department.
Just what I want to hear every evening: an Obama spokesperson. NOT!

We here IBA have previously posted about Marie Harf.

Lt. Col. Peters’ Plan to Fight Jihadists: ‘Leave Behind Smoking Ruins & Crying Widows’

“One: You accept that you are in a war. Two: You name the enemy, Islamist terrorists. Three: You get the lawyers off the battlefield […] you accept there will be collateral damage and you do not apologize for it. You do not nation build, you don’t try to hold ground. You go wherever in the world the terrorists are and you kill them, you do your best to exterminate them, and then you leave, and you leave behind smoking ruins and crying widows. If in five or 10 years, they reconstitute and you gotta go back, you go back and do the same thing, and you never, never, never send American troops into a war you don’t mean to win,” Peters said.

Rupert Murdoch Says Best Way To Stop Terrorism in America Is To Investigate The Mosques

A lot of us have tended to think the Saudi Royal investment in NewsCorp had bought the voice of Fox News.

Apparently, Rupert Murdoch is not too concerned about that money.

From CNSNews.com:
Fox News Corporation CEO and Chairman Rupert Murdoch suggested that the way to combat terrorism inside the U.S. is to investigate the mosques.
During an Aug. 14 discussion on immigration and the economy sponsored by the New England Council, Murdoch said, “I know that that is the case in Britain, but you look where you get the Muslim communities. They’re all fine people, but you want to have a look at the mosque and what they’re being told.”
“And most of them are just fine, but there are a few who are rabble rousers and brain washers and send these kids back for a year to Pakistan. Then they come back. I think you’ll find – certainly in Britain I know they’re doing this,” he said.

Jihad Jet-Lag? Venuzuelan Airline's Shaheed Shuttle Busted By FOX

FOX News has posted this exclusive report on a Venezuelan airline's "mystery flight" that appears to have been shuttling spies, jihadists, and arms between that country, Iran, and Syria.

EXCLUSIVE: Venezuela Cancels Round-Trip 'Terror Flight' to Syria and Iran

A Venezuelan airline's “mystery” flight that shuttled among the capitals of three of the world’s most terror-friendly nations — Venezuela, Syria and Iran — has abruptly canceled its regularly scheduled departures amid accusations that it was used primarily to transport spies, terrorists and lethal cargo among the pariah counties.

“I am sorry, but we are no longer flying to Tehran and I do not know when the flights will resume. It was a flight that left Caracas on Tuesdays, but it no longer does,” Jenny Gil Romero, who handles international departures for Conviasa, the national airline that operates the flight, said in a message to FOX News.

Messages to the airline seeking further information went unanswered.

Romero's comments came in response to FOXNews.com's efforts to buy tickets on the regularly scheduled, 48-hour round trip from Caracas to Damascus to Tehran, then back again.

Intelligence analysts with both the CIA and Israel said that, despite the listing of the flight as a regular commercial route and a code share with Iran air -- Flight IR744 is also Flight VO3744 -- there was no way that anyone could buy a ticket and travel without being vetted by the Venezuelan or Iranian government. And without passport controls, flight manifests and other documents, it meant some of the world's most dangerous men could travel without fear of being uncovered.

Curiously, unlike most other bookings on the national airline, calls for reservations on this particular flight were routed to a cell phone in Argentina, rather than to Conviasa's regular service in Caracas.

The Venezuelan ambassador to the United States had defended the flights as recently as two weeks ago in response to criticism in a State Department report that cited the flight’s questionable route and procedures. (Click here to read the report.) Messages left at the Venezuelan embassy's press office and the ambassador's office were not returned, and a list of questions submitted to the embassy's press office was not answered.

For the past three years, every other Tuesday, Flight VO3744 would roll out to a secluded loading platform at Simon Bolivar Airport in Caracas. Shrouded from public view and unencumbered by the normal exit procedures, a select passenger list would board the flight.

Over the next 48 hours, according to Western intelligence agencies, Venezuelan opposition figures and a former Iran-based spy for the CIA, the flight would carry illicit, lethal cargoes -- such as explosives and possibly radioactive materials -- and provide safe passage to terrorists, spies, weapons experts, senior Iranian intelligence operatives and members of both Hezbollah and Hamas.

Reza Kahlili, the pseudonym for an Iranian who the CIA has confirmed once spied for the United States as a member of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, told FoxNews.com these "special flights" have been "instrumental in creating an Iranian dominated worldwide terror network that now reaches the United States." He said the flights were used to expand Iran’s efforts to create a base of operations in the Western Hemisphere.

Peter Brookes, a former Defense Department analyst and CIA employee now with the Heritage Foundation, said there was a steady stream of elite Al Quds officers from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard who were transported to Venezuela aboard the flight and took up positions in the Latin American country’s intelligence service.

“We can’t say for sure what is going on, but it is clandestine and secretive,” he said.

Intelligence agencies are known to suspect the flight may be part of Iran’s program to build nuclear weapons. Venezuela has large deposits of uranium, and -- while raw uranium transport is unlikely by plane -- an Internet page in Caracas used by airline employees stated that the flights carried “radioactive materials.” The page was quickly shut down after the allegation was made, according to El Pais, a newspaper in Madrid, Spain.

Experts and Venezuelan opposition figures also say the influx of Iranians, as well as Hezbollah and Hamas operatives, into Venezuela on the flight was to prepare for a retaliatory strike against the U.S. if there was an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

According to Kahlili, the flight was used to transport Imad Mughniyeh, one of the most wanted men in the world, between Damascus and Tehran before he was assassinated in Lebanon in 2008. Mughniyeh, a top Hezbollah operative, was believed responsible for the 1983 bombings of the U.S. Embassy as well as the Marine barracks in Beirut that killed over 350 people. He was also accused of planning the bombing of the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1992.

More recently it was the flight to which Abdul Kadir, the Guyanese member of Parliament who was convicted in the attempted bombing of fuel pipelines at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport, was headed when he was arrested. Kadir was accused at his trial of being an Iranian spy.

FOX: Afshad Azad Not Attempted "Honor Killing" - Just "Family Feud"

FOX is what percentage owned by Muslims? Because the spin has started on the attempted ISLAM-APPROVED HONOR KILLING of Harry Potter actress Afshan Azad. It's got nothing to do with religion, ya see, it's all about what's "taboo" in "traditional", "conservative" Muslim AND Hindu families, and the Azad men have "issues" about "loss of power". All true, of course, but conveniently leaving out the small "issue" of the tolerance of "honor killing" in Islamic Sharia law.

'Harry Potter' Star in Family Feud Over Hindu Beau

The father and brother of a British actress who starred in the more recent "Harry Potter" movies have been charged with threatening to kill the 22-year old actress, apparently in disapproval of her boyfriend.

The actress, Afshan Azad, played Harry’s classmate Padma Patil in the popular series. Her father, Abdul Azad, 54, and her brother, Ashraf Azad, are accused of threatening her in May during a fight at her Manchester, England, home. The brother is also accused of assaulting her.

Details of the alleged threats and assault weren't immediately clear, but prosecutors have said the Muslim men did not approve of her relationship with her Hindu boyfriend.

The case has been adjourned until July 12, and both men were granted bail on condition that they do not contact Azad at her home.

The potential role of religion in the case has raised questions about the men's motivation.

“In traditional [Muslim] societies the family comes before the individual, and the woman represents the honor and purity of the family, so for a woman in the family to engage in a relationship that is taboo can be viewed as a violation of the family,” said Haroon Moghul the Executive Director of the Maydan Institute, a consulting firm that seeks to raise awareness of Muslims.

“Also in more conservative circles of Hindu or Muslim families, people don’t date before they are married, and it can be a lot worse for the girl and she is the one who is blamed and punished by the father, uncle or elder brother.”

Such cases can lead to what some people term “honor killings," though the term often is denounced in religious communities as a misnomer.

“It is poorly named since there is no honor in killing a woman. What these crimes are about is controlling a woman and it is not something unique to just Muslim society,” Hussein Rashid, a visiting instructor at Hofstra University’s Department of Religion, told Fox411.com. “I can’t put words in these men’s mouths, but it sounds like they had real issues with the success of a woman in their household and that this is about a loss of power.”

Afshan Azad first appeared in the Potter franchise in "Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire." She will also appear in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, the final film in the saga.

Warner Brothers, the studio that released the Harry Potter films, did not respond to calls for comment.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting to hear from Rowling, either. It will be interesting to see how this taqiyya goes down with the Potter fans.

Obama Knocks Fox . . ‘Debate Over More Or Less Gov’t Doesn’t Fit Our Times’ . . . Says He’s Trying To Bring Civility To Politics

From Weasel Zippers:

(Obama gives University of Michigan commencement speech.

WARNING: This speech will make blood shoot out your eyes. If you aren’t outraged after reading this sh*t he spewed today, you might need to check your pulse . . .

President Obama on Saturday urged graduates at the University of Michigan to participate in public life as the president forcefully defended an activist role for government in dealing with society’s problems.

The president used his commencement speech at Ann Arbor to explain his theory that democracy requires government to have an important role. He also called for civility in political debate as he chastised the overheated media world of Washington, which he is fond of blaming for the ongoing partisan battles that have rocked Washington on almost every major issue from healthcare to immigration.

The speech outlined Obama’s core vision: Individuals have a political responsibility to get involved in public life. Civility allows them to work together to build democracy and that allows them use the power of government to improve things for everyone.

“We can and should debate the role of government in our lives,” Obama told the graduates. “But remember, as you are asked to meet the challenges of our time, that the ability for us to adapt our government to the needs of the age has helped make our democracy work since its inception.”

Some the tropes that Obama used are part of his standard campaign-trail speech that he gives at most stops. For example, he related again how he enjoys getting away from Washington, even if just for a short time.

“I am happy to join you all today, and even happier to spend a little time away from Washington. Don’t get me wrong – it’s a beautiful city. And it sure is nice living above the store; can’t beat the commute. It’s just that sometimes, all you hear in Washington is the clamor of politics – a noise that can drown out the voices of the people who sent you there.”

Also standard was his usual dig at the media, especially poignant since Obama is scheduled to attend the White House Correspondents dinner Saturday night. Obama explained how a question from a Virginia kindergartner caused him to think. The child, in a letter, had asked: “Are people being nice?”

“Well, if you turn on the news today – particularly one of the cable channels – you can see why even a kindergartner would ask this question,” Obama said. “We’ve got politicians calling each other all sorts of unflattering names. Pundits and talking heads shout at each other. The media tends to play up every hint of conflict, because it makes for a sexier story – which means anyone interested in getting coverage feels compelled to make the most outrageous comments.”

As a former community organizer, politics for Obama is something very practical but as a former college teacher, he likes to take a long view.

“Since the days of our founding, American politics has never been a particularly nice business – and it’s always been a little less gentle during times of great change,” Obama noted. He explained how newspapers have trashed politicians since the founding days of the republic. Politicians’ politics, social activities, family ties and even policies have all been fair game. Duels and physical fights in the government corridors, not unheard of.

“The point is, politics has never been for the thin-skinned or the faint of heart, and if you enter the arena, you should expect to get roughed up,” Obama said. “Democracy in a nation of more than 300 million people is inherently difficult. It has always been noisy and messy; contentious and complicated.”

Obama then challenged the graduates:

“The question for your generation is this: How will you keep our democracy going? At a moment when our challenges seem so big and our politics seem so small, how will you keep our democracy alive and well in this century?”

The first step, the president said, was to ensure a proper role for government, “that, while limited, can still help us adapt to a changing world.”

There are some things that only government can do effectively, he argued, citing infrastructure worker training, coping with economic downturns and even healthcare. Not surprisingly, these have emerged as the pillars of the Obama administrations efforts: economic stimulus, financial regulation, and health insurance overhaul.”

“The truth is, the debate we’ve had for decades between more government and less government doesn’t really fit the times in which we live,” he said. “Our government shouldn’t try to guarantee results, but it should guarantee a shot at opportunity for every American who’s willing to work hard.”

The second point Obama made was the need for civility in political discourse. He derided the name-calling and frenzied tempo of denunciation.

“As I’ve found out after a year in the White House, changing this type of slash-and-burn politics isn’t easy, Obama said. “And part of what civility requires is that we recall the simple lesson most of us learned from our parents: Treat others as you would like to be treated, with courtesy and respect.

“Today’s 24-7 echo chamber amplifies the most inflammatory sound bites louder and faster than ever before. It has also, however, given us unprecedented choice. Whereas most of America used to get their news from the same three networks over dinner or a few influential papers on Sunday morning, we now have the option to get our information from any number of blogs or websites or cable news shows. This development can be both good and bad for democracy,” he said.

Lastly is participation, which, Obama said, was based on service to community and country.

“Participation in public life doesn’t mean that you all have to run for public office – though we could certainly use some fresh faces in Washington. But it does mean that you should pay attention and contribute in any way that you can. Stay informed. Write letters, or make phone calls on behalf of an issue you care about. If electoral politics isn’t your thing, continue the tradition so many of you started here at Michigan and find a way to serve your community and your country – an act that will help you stay connected to your fellow citizens and improve the lives of those around you,” he said.

Krauthammer and Kristol don't need no steenking FoxNews so what gives on Wilders?

{{nl|zelf genomen foto}}
Last week while paying half attention to Brett Baier's show on Fox I heard the 'crew' mention Geert Wilders and I thought, 'well, finally' and then I heard Krauthammer condemn Wilder's for calling to ban the Quran (actually what he said was if you are going to ban hate speech, then we ought to be examining the Quran for just that), and then Bill Kristol called Wilders a demagogue ...well arguable, but harsh. My reaction was just short of outright total shock.

Since neither of these men need to be on Fox considering their other accomplishments I have a hard time going along with some other authors who see the evil editorial conspiracies of Prince Talal who has a spermatic business exchange of moneys with Murdoch over newservices investments going both ways.

I believe them to be terribly in error (as apparently do Dutch voters).

I have personally said that if a mosque here in the USA actively teaches those parts of the Quran and Hadith which incite to violence, and violence results, the board of director of such a mosque should be held to account criminally, and civilly. When some mosques are buried under fantastically large lawsuits, the teaching WILL STOP. Legally. And as a direct cause of those laws which also destroyed Aryan Nation.

I don't see much difference between the process used by the SPLC, and given the murder of Theo Van Gogh and the Cartoon Jihad, ETC, and what Geert Wilders is calling for in stating that if hate speech is going to be banned, and freedom of speech proscribed by limited religious offense, then blind application should be the result.

Nor, Mr. Kristol, do I find the heart of that request ANY kind of demagoguery.

King James Bible, Torah, Quran, whatever ..FINE BY ME. Either that, or allow freedom of speech, AND ENFORCE IT against those who would use intimidation to limit it.

RRA to Ohio Gov's Media Flack: Protect Rifqa Or Prepare for the Wurst

Instead of filling out that cute little form to contact Governor Strickland of Ohio -- ask yourself, is this a person I want having my name, address, phone # and email? -- I emailed his media rep, Amanda Wurst, at amanda.wurst@governor.ohio.gov and gave her the irate RRA treatment in living CAPSLOCK. Not sure how much effect this will have, but if it gives her a bad dream or two (say, stark nekkid in front of the FOX News window on 6th Avenue, NYC, at 8 a.m. fielding questions from Pam and Robert) I will have done my duty.

Anyway:

Dear Ms. Wurst

Since nothing else seems to get through to the authories in Ohio with regard to the case of Rifqa Bary, let me suggest that Governor Strickland picture the following: "Something happens" to Ms. Bary as a result of her being returned to the family and Muslim community she has repeatedly stated wish to kill her for her "apostasy". Subsequently, the sidewalks in front of the Governor's office, the Franklin County Children Services, the Noor Mosque, and other places of intereSt, fill up with outraged Americans exercising their First Amendment rights (the ones the likes of CAIR would prefer to erase under Sharia law), carrying signs in which these words figure prominently: FRANKLIN COUNTY CHILD NEGLECT -- NO MORE HONOR KILLING -- NO SHARIA LAW IN US -- YOU SAID SHE WAS SAFE -- CAIR IS THE "MUSLIM MAFIA" -- with similar sentiments being shouted aloud ON CAMERA. FOX News at the very least will carry the story nationwide.

Think we won't show up? Check out the videos of the court hearings and the one from that little "Tea Party" march down in D.C. a few weeks back. I'm a retired lady on fixed income with a 10-year-old car but you can bet that if that child is harmed as a result of the neglect of the authorities and the vicious "cultural custom" known as "honor killing" and the arrogant Islamist belief that they have the right to murder "apostates", I will hit the road from here to Ohio to add my voice to the rest.

Now, don't waste time sending me any silly emails about "community harmony" or "moderate Muslims" or "religious tolerance" (they don't have any, in case you haven't noticed), because you have something better to do with your time: Tell Governor Strickland to consider if prostrating himself before the "Muslim community" by putting Ms. Bary at risk is worth the chance that he'll be wrong AND THE WHOLE COUNTRY WILL BE HEARING ABOUT IT LOUD AND CLEAR.

Respectfully and sincerely,

(me)
(my town)

Needless to say, this should not be used as a template but if you like the general gist of the sentiments, hey, knock yourselves out.

Meanwhile, I just keep wondering where that poor girl is now and what is going to happen to her. And yes, I will make good on my threat to show up on Amanda's boss's doorstep if this thing goes south. That is one of the perks of retirement: you can go annoy deserving people whenever you please.

Whoops They Did It Again -- Third ACORN Helping Hookers Tape Emerges

ACORN chief organizer Bertha Lewis has threatened a lawsuit against FOX News and independent filmmaker James O'Keefe, whose videos of ACORN workers giving sympathetic advice to a couple posing as a pimp and prostitute trying to illegally obtain housing led to the firing of 4 ACORN workers. On Sunday O'Keefe told FOX News that he doubts ACORN will actually file suit...

...And now we know why. The other shoe dropped this morning at FOX:

Third Videotape Reveals ACORN Assisting 'Pimp,' 'Prostitute' in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Days after the release of hidden-camera videos led to the firing of four ACORN workers in Baltimore and Washington who assisted an independent filmmaker posing as a pimp to apply for an illegal housing loan for a brothel, a third video has surfaced showing ACORN workers offering the same kind of assistance at the organization's office in Brooklyn, N.Y.

As in their previous undercover stings, filmmaker James O'Keefe, 25, and partner Hannah Giles, 20, who posed as a prostitute, received advice from ACORN workers on how to launder their earnings and avoid detection from law enforcement officials while running a prostitution business.

"You have to find another name for it," an ACORN employee tells the pair seeking a mortgage in the Brooklyn office. "Honesty is not going to get you the house. You can't say what you do for a living."

In the video posted on BigGovernment.com, which was shot on Aug. 4, O'Keefe tells two ACORN workers that Giles — scantily dressed as a prostitute named "Eden" with partially-exposed undergarments — earns up to $10,000 a month "performing tricks" and tries to obtain housing in the purportedly 18-year-old woman's name.

"This is going to be her business, it's all cash," O'Keefe says. "She's gonna have this business in the house with a bunch of girls coming and doing these things, you know, performing tricks and she's gonna give me the money so I can pay the mortgage. That's how we want to work it potentially. But no one has to know where the money is coming from."

No," an ACORN employee responds as another shakes her head in approval.
The ACORN employees suggest that the purpose of "Eden's" business remain a secret as they seek to obtain financing.

"You know, what goes on in the house, we don't care," an ACORN worker says on the video. "We just help you with the mortgage."

Later on the video, an ACORN worker tells Giles that she needs to say she is a "freelancer" to establish a legitimate line of credit, and she advises the woman to open multiple bank accounts in which she should deposit no more than $500 a week to avoid raising suspicion.

"Don't say that you're a prostitute thing or whatever," the woman says on the tape, later suggesting that Giles hide her money in a tin buried beneath the home. " … And you don't tell a single soul but yourself where it is."

Another ACORN worker reminds the pair that prostitution is illegal, but stops well short of showing the duo the door.

"Don't get caught," the ACORN staffer says on the tape. "It's against the law what you're doing and there's a chance you'll get caught."

Earlier videos taken at ACORN offices in Washington and Baltimore led to the firing of two employees at each office, and on Friday the U.S. Census Bureau severed ties with the group in the wake of the controversy.

Go read the rest. It's Monday. You deserve a snicker or two.
