Muslims in India attack Hindus over music

Hugh Fitzgerald points to the disturbing problem of Islamofascists in India who attacked Hinduists over their music celebrations, on Ramadan and surely even when it's not the holiday:
Contrary to the popular view that portrays them as a hapless minority, Muslims are the second-largest population and the fastest-growing demographic in India, and by far the most pampered one, be it by media, politicians, or pop culture. Ramadan is a month when Muslims fast during the daytime; however, it is shocking how Muslims force their religious beliefs on non-Muslims, Hindus in particular, and stop them from going on with their regular lives and celebrating their festivities.

In Banswada town in Telangana, a Muslim mob gathered in front of a department store and resorted to violence. The incident occurred on February 20, when a Hindu saleswoman at the Reliance Smart Mart store played a devotional song dedicated to the Hindu deity, Goddess Durga. A Muslim customer, Muzammil, who was at the store at the time, objected to the music and asked her to stop it, as Ramadan was ongoing.

The situation quickly deteriorated, as a massive Muslim crowd gathered outside the store and began throwing stones at it
. Police efforts to calm the throng were also met with stone-throwing, leaving at least two police constables injured. Police officials have confirmed that 10 to 12 individuals have been arrested in connection with the unrest. In response, additional security forces were deployed throughout the town to stop further escalation. Authorities, who are always rushing in to safeguard Muslims, their interests, and image, warned against the spread of provocative content on social media that could incite further communal tension. Efforts were reportedly made to suppress this news, or rather, the incident did not find mention in many news reports.

Another incident of Islamic entitlement during the holy month occurred in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, which again was not reported by most news agencies, lest the popular perception of Muslims be tarnished. A traditional Hindu wedding procession turned violent on Friday night, February 20, after a dispute over the music played during the celebration escalated. The incident occurred in the Rakhial area when the Hindu groom’s party was playing songs dedicated to Hindu deities associated with the ceremony, a common practice in India. Muslims formed a gathering and objected to the music, citing the ongoing observance of Ramadan, and demanded that the Hindus stop playing the songs.

The disagreement quickly turned hostile, as Muslims started throwing stones at wedding guests and nearby parked vehicles, forcing the celebration to be halted abruptly. The Hindus were holding their celebrations at their venue, and the Muslims still objected to it, claiming that they were fasting and preferred quieter gatherings.
This is utterly repugnant, and any police, media and politicians who bury the news for the sake of brownie points should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. The public in India who were struck by these atrocities should start demanding that the Islamofascists be exiled, and there should be serious opposition to any further indoctrination by the Religion of Peace.

Steven Spielberg's become unendurable

It was recently reported that the would-be legendary Hollywood filmmaker Spielberg has been funding anti-Israel movements through the institutions he founded, and worse, it looks like he himself has indicated where he really stands, almost 3 years after October 7, 2023:
When Steven Spielberg created the Righteous Persons Foundation with some of the profits from Schindler’s List, he wanted to educate people about the Holocaust and build up Jewish life in America. “I could not accept any money from ‘Schindler’s List’ — if it even made any money. It was blood money, and needed to be put back into the Jewish community.”

“My parents didn’t keep kosher and we mainly observed all the holidays when my grandparents stayed with us,” the filmmaker said at the time. “I knew I was missing a great deal of my natural heritage, and as I became conscious of it, I began racing to catch up.”

The race has long since gone the other way.

The last time the Righteous Persons Foundation, named after the rescuers of Holocaust survivors, funded Holocaust programs was in 2021. Most of its funding now goes to radical social justice groups including anti-Israel organizations like those protesting Israel.

Since 2021, Spielberg’s foundation has provided $650,000 to T’ruah, an anti-Israel hate group which took part in the Manhattan street blocking and whose CEO celebrated the move and gleefully posted photos of attendees falsely accusing Israel of “ethnic cleansing”.

“We have to keep up the pressure,” urged T’ruah CEO Jill Jacobs, who had accused Israeli officials of “incitement to genocide”, and demanded an end to further Israeli attacks on Hamas. Jacobs had blasted American Jews for speaking about “Oct. 7 and the plight of the hostages without once mentioning the unbearable death toll among Palestinians” because of what she claimed was their fear of wealthy Jewish donors.

Jacobs and T’ruah had even falsely accused Israel of “war crimes” by assassinating Hezbollah leaders. “Israel, too, has already committed war crimes in Lebanon, including by exploding the beepers and walkie talkies of hundreds of Hezbollah members,” Jacobs argued.

Within a year, Spielberg had gone from funding Holocaust survivors to funding those accusing Israel of a new Holocaust while enabling Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran to perpetrate a new one.
He already let the mask slip when he produced Munich in 2005, which was co-scripted by the anti-Israeli playright Tony Kushner, who's worked with him on at least a few other projects. In doing so, Spielberg effectively hollowed out Schindler's List, and at this point, I'm wondering if I can have my money back. As noted further along:
The Righteous Persons Foundation also provided $1.2 million to ‘Bend the Arc’, a radical group originally headed by an anti-Israel protester, which has close ties to anti-Israel protest groups.
I don't think Spielberg's ever made any serious effort to address the Armenian Holocaust during WW1, if at all, and no doubt, because that was perpetrated by the Religion of Peace. He's yet another ill-informed leftist, and towards the end of this article, it's also noted, horrifically enough, that:
A year later, in remarks at the University of Southern California, which was honoring him for setting up the USC Shoah Foundation, the filmmaker briefly addressed the issue, warning about rising antisemitism including “the machinery of extremism is being used on college campuses”, which some of the groups he’s funding have been protecting, while also claiming that it’s “happening alongside anti-Muslim, Arab, and Sikh discrimination.”

Spielberg then appeared to denounce both Israel and Hamas, arguing that, “we can rage against the heinous acts committed by the terrorists of October 7th and also decry the killing of innocent women and children in Gaza.”
Notice how he seems to be trying to cover his tracks by adding the Sikh religion to his shoddy lecture. Despite that, I don't think he gives a damn about followers of the Sikh faith, nor does he care about Arab/Muslim women who fell victim to violence perpetrated by Muslim men. And if followers of the Religion of Peace attacked Sikh adherents, as was the case in 1947, Spielberg would have nothing to say about even that. To think that I once thought he was one of the finest filmmakers, and then he destroyed everything by following the instructions of those who thought he should "grow up" as a storyteller, as though the adventure fare he was first known for was somehow not good enough. Then again, even if he hadn't abandoned fantasy-style filmmaking, chances are he would've lost his way eventually, and his so-called adaptation of War of the Worlds was simply unbearable.

Spielberg's not the only leftist Jew who's taken repellent positions. There's also actor Mandy Patinkin, who's sided with Zohran Mamdani. Perhaps this could explain why Patinkin was a co-star in Alien Nation from 1988, which was quite the leftist propaganda vehicle for a science fiction film. There's some role Patinkin had in years past that, if they're good movies, they'll have to be taken with a grain of salt for now. And back to Spielberg, I am done with his filmmaking resume, which decidedly began to collapse in the past 2 decades or so. No decent person should finance his institutions, that's for sure.

Joe Sacco minimizes the seriousness of Islamic terror in India

The Washington Post wrote some fluff-coated takes on GNs published this year, and it includes one by the anti-Israel cartoonist Joe Sacco, who's now apparently trying to downplay the seriousness of Islamic terrorism in India, in the pages of a GN titled "Once and Future Riot":
For decades, Sacco has carved out a space for rigorous, fact-based journalism in comics, with books on the Palestinian territories, the Bosnian war and other topics. Here he examines the Muzaffarnagar riots that tore through Uttar Pradesh, India, in 2013. Interviewing survivors and perpetrators on both sides, he carefully depicts how relations between the region’s Hindu and Muslim communities broke down. In the process of telling the story of these few days of violence and pain, he lays out a larger narrative about the rise of Hindu nationalism that is all the more troubling for the evenhanded way he explains it.
When he attacks Indian nationalism, it's harder to believe his approach is "evenhanded", especially when the following panel suggests otherwise:
So the Muslim figure on the panel is denying there's such a thing as "love jihad", even though there have been cases of this occurring in what could be described as one of the worst forms of coercion, and attempts to force women to convert to Islam. Also notice how the panel depicts non-Muslims attacking one who is Muslim, and it's set up to make it look like they're doing it out of false accusations. What "careful depictions" is Sacco working on here? This is shameful, right down to how the non-Muslims assaulting the Islamist are made to look nasty, while the cleric, by contrast, is depicted as calm and sympathetic. The riots in Muzaffarnagar were sparked by the murder of 2 men by 7 culprits who were Islamists (and certainly had names often used by followers of the Religion of Peace), and were handed down sentences eventually for their repugnant crimes. It won't be shocking if Sacco obfuscated all that. What's drawn in the panel is anything but "fact-based".

Sacco continues to prove he's one of the worst pro-Islam propagandists in the political comics business, and I hesitate to think what disfavors he's done for 9-11 survivors in the USA in the near quarter century since the tragedy in NYC. The Wash. Post is similarly doing disfavors by sugarcoating his works, and only make clear they're one of the worst papers to talk about the comics medium in any format.

Bobby Jindal Warns of Islamic "Invasion" and "Colonization" of the United States

On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Family Research Council’s “Washington Watch,” host Tony Perkins asked guest Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) to revisit remarks he made regarding Muslims and the threat of radical Islam.
In his discussion with Perkins, however, he warned of the dangers of immigrants not assimilating to American culture.
“[O]ne of the great about America is it doesn’t matter if you’ve been here five minutes or a hundred years, we have folks that come here, want to be Americans,” Jindal said. “They join our military, they start companies, they work to create a better community. And that’s wonderful."
"What’s not acceptable is people that want to come and conquer us."
"That’s not immigration, by the way, that’s colonization."
"If someone wants to come here and change our fundamental culture and our values. If they want to come here and they want to set up their own culture and values that’s not immigration, that’s really invasion — if you’re honest about it."
"Of course, the politically correct crowd when you say things like they’ll call you racist — but this is a particular threat we face. And if we’re not serious about this we’re going to see more lone wolf actors. We’re going to see more folks come into our country just like you’ve seen in other countries — the horrific shootings in Paris.”
The reason Jindal gets it is because his parents are Hindu immigrants from India. Indian Hindus have likely suffered worse atrocities at the hands of Muslims than any other single group of people on the face of the Earth, with the exception of the Christians who used to dominate the Middle East.

Barrack Obama's Fabulantastic Indian Getaway

Wherein we learn that the President of the United States is afraid of a seaborne assault by monkeys bearing cocnuts to toss at his noggin so they are sending a 34 warship armada, building eighty foot towers and erecting a kilometer long tunnel to keep him from getting beaned by an angry simian.

I'll bet you think I'm kidding.

Maybe he should just stay home and watch TeeVee

34 warships sent from US for Obama visit
Press Trust of India, Updated: November 04, 2010

New Delhi: The White House will, of course, stay in Washington but the heart of the famous building will move to India when President Barack Obama lands in Mumbai on Saturday.

Communications set-up and nuclear button and majority of the White House staff will be in India accompanying the President on this three-day visit that will cover Mumbai and Delhi.

He will also be protected by a fleet of 34 warships, including an aircraft carrier, which will patrol the sea lanes off the Mumbai coast during his two-day stay there beginning Saturday. The measure has been taken as Mumbai attack in 2008 took place from the sea.

Arrangements have been put in place for emergency evacuation, if needed.

Obama is expected to fly by a helicopter -- Marine One -- from the city airport to the Indian Navy's helibase INS Shikra at Colaba in south Mumbai.

Two jets, armed with advanced communication and security systems, and a fleet of over 40 cars will be part of Obama's convoy.

Around 800 rooms have been booked for the President and his entourage in Taj Hotel and Hyatt.

The President will have a security ring of American elite Secret Service, which are tasked to guard the President, along with National Security Guards (NSG) and personnel from central paramilitary forces and local police in Mumbai and Delhi.

Similar arrangements will be in place in Delhi, with the Air Force One to be kept in all readiness throughout Obama's stay here from Sunday afternoon to Tuesday morning.

Maurya Hotel, where the President will stay, has already been swarmed by American security personnel and protective measures have been put in place.

Security drills have already been carried out at the hotel as well as Rajghat, where he will visit.

Sources said 13 heavy-lift aircraft with high-tech equipment, three helicopters and 500 US security personnel have arrived in India ahead of Obama's visit.

The US security has also brought interception and obstruction device, sniffer dogs, rescue gadgets.

Apart from Obama's Air Force One, a few private luxury jets carrying top American corporate leaders, who are part of Obama's entourage, are also expected to arrive in India in the next 2-3 days.

All high-rise buildings in the vicinity of Mumbai's Taj Mahal hotel and Delhi's Maurya Sheraton hotel, where the US President will stay, are being sanitised and security personnel will be positioned on rooftops to prevent any air-borne attack.

The Ridge area - opposite Delhi's Maurya Sheraton hotel - has been illuminated by floodlights as part of the heightened security drill.

The Home Ministry has already issued an alert for Mumbai and Delhi asking authorities to take extra precautions during Obama's visit as well as on Diwali on Friday.

Monkeys to be kept at bay during Obama's visit
IANS, Nov 4, 2010, 04.06am IST

NEW DELHI: Eighty-foot-high towers being built around the ridge area in the capital are not just being erected for the security of US President Barack Obama but also to keep the monkeys in the vicinity at bay, police said.

Obama will be visiting the national capital on November 8-9 and will be staying at ITC Maurya hotel, situated near the ridge area where the monkey population is high.

"As several incidents of monkey-menace have been reported from the area, we are keeping a watch on the simians," a police officer said.

He also said that trained monkey-catchers will also be deployed.

Coconuts removed from trees in preparation for Barack Obama's India trip
India is preparing for Barack Obama's first visit to the country by removing coconuts from palm trees in Mumbai to protect the US president.

Mr Obama will arrive in India on Saturday for the first leg of an Asian tour.

But as well as the usual security measures that come with welcoming a a visiting dignitary, Indian authorities have decided to go one step further, by removing all natural threats to the president as well.

All coconuts around the city's Gandhi museum, one of Mr Obama's stops in the city, are being taken down.

Mani Bhavan, where Mahatma Gandhi stayed during his freedom struggle against the British, is among five places the US president is visiting in Mumbai.

"We told the authorities to remove the dry coconuts from trees near the building. Why take a chance?" Mani Bhavan's executive secretary, Meghshyam Ajgaonkar, told the BBC.

Last week American security officers inspected Mani Bhavan and its surroundings along with other places the president is likely to visit.

Every year in India people are injured or even killed by falling coconuts.

Mr Obama, still smarting from heavy losses in the midterm elections, will visit India, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan and China on the 10-day tour.

Tunnel for Obama near Mani Bhavan
Published: Thursday, Nov 4, 2010

It could give a sense of superior American organisation, or be an indicator of a deep-set persecution complex. It could also be a manifestation of Uncle Sam’s penchant for a show of strength.

The matter pertains to US president Barack Obama’s planned visit to Mani Bhavan —the Gandhi museum — on November 6, soon after he reaches Mumbai. On Monday, US secret agents visited the museum to plan Obama’s security detail.

They were accompanied by officers of Mumbai Police and civic officials of the D ward (where Mani Bhavan is located). While inspecting the route and the buildings lining up the route to the museum, the Americans detected a skyscraper near Peddar road and also found the area to be highly populated.

Since it is difficult to monitor such a congested area, they came up with a quick solution which left the Indians accompanying them amazed: A bomb-proof over-ground tunnel — to be installed by US military engineers in just an hour.

The tunnel would be a kilometre long and measure 12ft by 12ft — enough to let Obama’s cavalcade pass through. The tunnel would be centrally air-conditioned, fitted with close-circuit television cameras, and will be heavily guarded at every point, including, of course, its entry and exit.

Details about when exactly the tunnel would be made were not forthcoming. But officials said that the structure would be dismantled immediately after Obama leaves the area.

Is Obama Attempting To Promote Islam In India?

The nation of Pakistan exists solely because Muslims in India could not get along with Hindus, Sikhs and people of other religions.

So, they had to have their own country, and Britain gave it to them.

If you ever wonder whether Muslims can learn to get along with others, and what are the consequences if they don't, then Pakistan is your answer.

Thing is, once Muslims are rewarded for not getting along with Infidels, by giving them their own territory, it does not stop them from agitating for more.

Indeed, the Mumbai Massacre is more than enough evidence that Muslims are willing to kill and commit atrocities in order to receive even more concessions from India.

And, now it seems Barack Obama wants to help the Muslims in their Jihad against India.

From Asia News:
Obama sends Muslim envoy to India to bridge cultural gap between the US and Islam
by Nirmala Carvalho
Rashad Hussain, an American Muslim of Indian origin, is set to meet Muslim leaders and academics. His tour will take him to a number of Indian cities to improve relations between the United States and Islam. Indian Muslim peace activist Syed Ali Mutjaba is in favour of the visit, a legitimate attempt to improve the image of the US among Muslims.

New Delhi (AsiaNews) – Rashad Hussain, US special envoy to the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, is currently on a tour of India to discuss with Muslim leaders and academics initiatives by the Obama Administration on education, global health, entrepreneurship and extremism. Son of Indian immigrants, Mr Hussain will visit a number of Indian cities, including Mumbai and New Delhi, to find ways to bridge the gap between the United States and the Muslim world.

With the increasing radicalisation of certain groups within Islam, will this visit have any positive outcome?

It is true that US policies in recent times have contributed to the radicalisation of certain Islamic groups worldwide ...

In your opinion, what gives the US the right to see itself as the custodian of peaceful dialogue, to the extent that it should send an envoy to India?

One has to accept the stark reality that the US is the lone superpower on earth. It has given itself the mandate to correct what is wrong in the world.
It has come to realise that large parts of the Islamic population has a bad opinion of the US, so it has thought to start a peaceful dialogue to iron out the differences. This is a huge change in US thinking. There is nothing wrong with a US envoy coming to India. In fact, this has to be seen in positive terms, because within the Indian debate, Muslim voices are marginalised or totally blacked out. By sending its envoy to India, the United States has raised the visibility of Indian Muslims, showing that globally their support matters. This will create a positive impression about Muslims in India.

Terrorist in Mumbai sentenced to hang

India has just done some justice in the horrifying case of the murders that took place in Mumbai in late 2008:
The lone surviving terrorist in the November 2008 Mumbai massacre was sentenced to death on Thursday by an Indian judge for his role in the massive terrorist attack, one of the worst in the history of India.

During the three-day ordeal, 166 people were slaughtered and more than 300 were wounded. Six of the dead were Jews who were at the Nariman Jewish Center Chabad House, a target specifically chosen by terrorists. (Photos of the scene may be viewed by clicking here. WARNING: The photos are graphic, and reveal in detail the violence at the scene. Israel news photo, below: ZAKA)

Among the victims were the center's directors, Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries Rabbi Gabriel and Mrs. Rivka Holtzberg. The couple's two-year-old son Moishe was rescued by his Indian nanny, Sandra, who hid in a closet for hours until the terrorists had moved into another part of the building, then gathered the toddler in her arms and fled. Moishe and his nanny were subsequently brought by his maternal grandparents back to Israel, where Rivka herself was born and raised.

Israel National News produced a special tribute to honor the Holtzbergs and their guests. The page may be accessed by clicking here.

Justice M.L. Tahaliyani handed down his verdict three days after the surviving terrorist, Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, was convicted of murder and waging war against the nation. Death sentences in India are carried out by hanging. Special prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said Wednesday that the execution could be delayed by up to a year.
The sooner the noose tightens around the vile filth's neck, the better.

How terror travels to India in a bus

The "red paint" of terrorism is getting darker by the day in India.

Vicky Nanjappa in Bengaluru | April 02, 2009 15:07 IST

The arrest of Rashid Malabari[Additional: D-Company coaxed Malabari to kill Varun]may have opened a can of worms. But what is more startling is how this man managed to slip into India despite a red corner alert by the Interpol against him.

Investigating officials firmly believe that this man could have used the Nepal route to enter into India. It may be noted that Nepal is the favourit route for both members of the D Gang as well as dreaded Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorists. In fact, all it takes is just Rs 5,000 to cross over from Nepal into India.

Sources told rediff.com that the Nepal route is preferred by terrorists since the ISI has a well-organised syndicate there.

Sabahuddin, an accused in the Mumbai attack who was also the chief of operations for the LeT in Nepal, too confirmed this during his interrogation.

Once the green signal is given by the LeT or chiefs of the D gang, the operatives fly into Doha from Lahore on a fake passport. A member of the terror outfit is usually accompanied by an ISI member. In Sabahuddin's case, it was a man by the name Major Doggar.

In Doha, the operative needs to wait three more hours before boarding the flight to Kathmandu. The entire process is monitored by the ISI, Sabahuddin adds.

This is, however, the last time that these operatives are asked to contact the ISI. They are instructed never to contact the ISI in future as it could prove to be dangerous.

Once in Kathmandu, these operatives are directed to destroy the Pakistani passport and then flush it down the toilet. Then, they are instructed to mail their higher ups using coded language.

After staying over in Kathmandu for a day, they are asked to meet a local person at a particular location. A cash payment of Rs 5,000 is made to this person, who in turn helps these operatives cross over to India on a motorcycle. The person who helps them cross the border ensures that the operative has boarded a bus and only then leaves the place.

The bus journey is most preferred by both terror and underworld operatives once within India. They are asked to destroy anything that they possess that is even remotely related to Pakistan and asked only to use the bus since there is hardly any checking while boarding a bus.

ISI's links with Haqqani, Hekmatyar a matter of concern: US
4 Apr 2009, 1434 hrs IST, PTI

WASHINGTON: United States has said it was concerned about the ISI's contacts with the extremist groups including those led by Afghan warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and the Haqqani network.

"The ISI's contacts with some of these extremist groups — with Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, Haqqani network, Commander Nazir and others — are a real concern to us, and we have made these concerns known directly to the Pakistanis," Defence Secretary Robert Gates said in an interview to Afghan TV.

While top officials of the Obama Administration have now started publicly acknowledging the connection between ISI and extremist networks, this is possibly for the first time in recent times that the Defence Secretary has himself named the terrorist groups that have links with the ISI.

According to transcripts of the interview made available by Department of defence, Gates hoped that the Pakistani establishment would put an end to this nexus between ISI and extremist groups.

In response to a question, Gates said the US would continue with its drone attacks.

"The President has made clear that we will go after al-Qaida and their planning cells and their training centers, wherever they are in the world," he said.

"The world has never experienced such a plague of darkness like the plague of Islamic fundamentalism that reveres death over life...

Rabbi Marvin Hier, dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, delivers his address at the memorial service for Rabbi Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg at the Chabad House in Westwood California. Excerpts:
The world should be very clear – achieving martyrdom by killing innocent civilians is an abomination – it is a concept that desecrates religion, denigrates humankind, and defames G-d himself.

But it is not only the terrorists who bear the responsibility – it is the religious leaders who programmed them, inspired them, and sent them, who are equally culpable. Joseph Goebbels and Julius Streicher never killed anyone – but they were named as war criminals at Nuremberg because on a daily basis, they poisoned the minds of tens of millions of Germans. That is exactly what the Imams of the Islamic Fundamentalists do.

The world must not remain silent. We have the tools to at least do something. The United Nations must make suicide terror a priority. Why is it that the General Assembly can call special sessions on drug cartels, on AIDs, on disarmament, on apartheid – all crucial issues – but it has not yet called for a special session on the greatest crime of the 21st century – suicide terror?

Mumbai attack - Analysis & Comments; Related Items

(Various articles & Videos related to the Mumbai Attack)
Video: The siege is over. The police are now cleaning up:

Mumbai Attacks: Some Articles of Interest:

1. Bill Roggio's analysis of the Mumbai attack, the significant differences from previous attacks, and the wider implications:
The Mumbai attack is uniquely different from past terror strikes carried out by Islamic terrorists. Instead of one or more bombings at distinct sites, the Mumbai attackers struck throughout the city using military tactics. Instead of one or more bombings carried out over a short period of time, Mumbai is entering its third day of crisis.

An attack of this nature cannot be thrown together overnight. It requires planned, scouting, financing, training, and a support network to aid the fighters. Initial reports indicate the attacks originated from Pakistan, the hub of jihadi activity in South Asia. Few local terror groups have the capacity to pull of an attack such as this. (Read it all)

2. Mark Steyn- "It’s Not the Cold War-- Updating Strategy to Fight the Ideology":
What’s relevant about the Mumbai model is that it would work in just about any second-tier city in any democratic state: Seize multiple soft targets and overwhelm the municipal infrastructure to the point where any emergency plan will simply be swamped by the sheer scale of events. Try it in, say, Mayor Nagin’s New Orleans. All you need is the manpower. Given the numbers of gunmen, clearly there was a significant local component. On the other hand, whether or not Pakistan’s deeply sinister ISI had their fingerprints all over it, it would seem unlikely that there was no external involvement. After all, if you look at every jihad front from the London Tube bombings to the Iraqi insurgency, you’ll find local lads and wily outsiders: That’s pretty much a given.

But we’re in danger of missing the forest for the trees. The forest is the ideology. It’s the ideology that determines whether you can find enough young hotshot guys in the neighborhood willing to strap on a suicide belt . . . or, if active terrorists are a bit thin on the ground, whether you can count at least on some degree of broader support on the ground

This isn’t law enforcement but an ideological assault — and we’re fighting the symptoms not the cause. Islamic imperialists want an Islamic society, not just in Palestine and Kashmir but in the Netherlands and Britain, too. Their chances of getting it will be determined by the ideology’s advance among the general Muslim population, and the general Muslim population’s demographic advance among everybody else. 3. Scene of Unimaginable Carnage Inside Taj Majal Hotel:

The scene Saturday night inside the Taj Majal hotel was one of unimaginable carnage in the immediate aftermath of the terrorist onslaught across Mumbai.

Two Indian commandos told FOX News that 150 bodies still were inside the hotel, and dead victims were found all over the hotel, on all five floors.

The terrorists used incendiary bombs, or grenades thrown on gas or fuel canisters, indicating they had access to the Taj hotel in advance, though the Taj Majal hotel denies any staffers were involved. ...

The siege was particularly troubling because “they didn’t spare women or children.” (cont'd)

It is the photograph that has dominated the world's front pages, casting an astonishing light on the fresh-faced killers who brought terror to the heart of India's most vibrant city. Now it can be revealed how the astonishing picture came to be taken by a newspaper photographer who hid inside a train carriage as gunfire erupted all around him.

But what angered Mr D'Souza almost as much were the masses of armed police hiding in the area who simply refused to shoot back. "There were armed policemen hiding all around the station but none of them did anything," he said. "At one point, I ran up to them and told them to use their weapons. I said, 'Shoot them, they're sitting ducks!' but they just didn't shoot back." (Read it all)
