Spain: "Rebirth and Union", Islamic party founded

In only four sheets they explain why they believe it's necessary this kind of party in Spain. Its founder insists he is a moderate and insists that he supports the Constitution and is Spanish national.

Rebirth and Union is a party for Muslims but also for ethnic minorities and immigrants: "Brother, sister, go one with the rebirth and the liberation, the consideration of what your situation really is and meditate about all of it. You have to trust in yourself first and afterwards in your party to make your voice heard in the higher places. (...) The moment has come, Spanish Muslim, Arab, African immigrant and non-immigrant to free yourself from humiliation" (hein??? What humiliations does he think the immigrants suffer in Spain? Is he advocating for open borders? What is he referring to then?).

The central offices are in Granada, and others will be opened in all Spain to take part in the 2011's local elections "I'm sure that in a non-very distant future, not more than 30 years, one of our sons will be Mayor, Minister or even President of the Nation".

What is worrying from my point of view, is that they haven't stated clearly their goals. There is a vague mention of a document "with several sheets" but no actual mention of what they really want, what their plans are, what their program is, farther that those vague considerations.

Spain: Polemic in Morocco due to Mohammed’s images in a Spanish textbook

The polemic has been caused by two images of Islam's Prophet in the textbook "Mohammed, Islam and the Arab World", published and edited by Spanish firm Anaya. One of them shows Mohammed teaching his disciples, while the other represents the prophet standing next to Kaaba, the sacred stone of Islam.

The polemic arose when parents whose sons and daughters studied at Secondary Education Institute Juan de la Cierva (Tetouan) complained to the authorities about the images.

An spokesman from the Moroccan Education's Minister assured daily newspaper Al Masae they were investigating the facts to take the necessary meassures.

Turkey: "Global jihad against Israel", the slogan of a conference during the "Global Anti-Agression Campaign"

At a weekend meeting in Istanbul, 200 religious scholars and clerics met senior Hamas officials to plot a new jihad centred on Gaza.

The BBC's Bill Law was the only Western journalist at the meeting.

In a hall crowded with conservative Sunni Muslim sheikhs and scholars, in a hotel close to Istanbul's Ataturk Airport speaker after speaker called for jihad against Israel in support of Hamas.

The choice of Turkey was significant. Arab hardliners were keen to put aside historic differences with the Turks.

As one organiser put it: "During the past 100 years relations have been strained but Palestine has brought us together."

Many delegates spoke appreciatively of the protest by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who stormed out of a Davos debate on Gaza two weeks ago.

The conference, dubbed the Global Anti-Aggression Campaign, also gave impetus to Sunni clerics concerned about the growing power of Hezbollah, the Shia movement backed by Iran, which rose to international prominence in its own war with Israel in 2006.

Well, we'll have to thank they are from tha "Anti Agression Campaign". Just imagine what theirplans would be if they were from an "Agression Campaign".
