All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

UN Stalled Declaration of Ebola Emergency for Fear of Interfering with Mecca Pilgrimage
AP: UN Stalled Declaration of Ebola Emergency for Fear of Interfering with Mecca Pilgrimage
Emails obtained by the Associated Press show discussions among the senior administrators of the World Health Organization from as early as June 2014, in which officials refused to yet declare a state of emergency in West Africa over the Ebola outbreak for fear of angering local governments and interfering with the annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca.
Patient Zero in the current Ebola epidemic, which has to this date claimed at least 10,000 lives, was diagnosed in Guinea and died on December 6, 2013. It was not until February that the virus showed signs of spreading rapidly.
By April, hospitals in the United Kingdom issued an alert to workers to be aware of Ebola symptoms. In June, Doctors Without Borders warned the situation had gotten “out of control.”

UN Caught Posting New York "DDR" Jobs for DISARMAMENT!
THIS IS A REAL JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
IT IS NOT A HOAX
US CITIZENSHIP IS NOT A JOB REQUIREMENT FOR THIS POSITION.COULD THIS POSSIBLY BE TRUE?
---
UPDATE -
Ok, already I see that there was a job like this listed back in 2012.
And that job listing/opening has since expired.
It seems to be true that, if you click around on the UN Jobs List website, that they do, indeed, post jobs with a note as to where the deployment will be.
For instance, click here and you'll see you can go to the Congo and serve as a "Technical Officer" dealing with Pandemics and Influenza.
But the fact that this "DDR" job was listed two years ago, and nothing has come of it makes it seem to me to probably be something innocuous.
Anyway, like I said, I'm looking for the seemingly inevitable debunking. I think this HAS to be bullshit.
Someone, please, offer me an explanation.
midnight rider updates:
This appears very much to be aimed at restoring/keeping the peace in conflict areas after the conflict. Collect the weapons from the good and bad guys. Tell them they were good and bad guys. Get 'em jobs. Turn their swords and Kalashnikovs and rocket launchers into ploughshares. That sort of thing.
Keep in mind the U.N. is a global entity (for better or worse). Just because they're headquartered in New York (THROW THEM OUT!) does not necessarily mean we're their main focus of every seemingly freedom abridging action.
Besides, if they were to try to disarm Americans I am rather certain they would create a conflict zone (and a helluva one at that) when we turned our guns on those trying to disarm us.
From the Untied Nations DDR section:
Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration
Disarmament is the collection, documentation, control and disposal of small arms, ammunition, explosives and light and heavy weapons from combatants and often from the civilian population.
Demobilization is the formal and controlled discharge of active combatants from armed forces and groups, including a phase of “reinsertion” which provides short-term assistance to ex-combatants.
Reintegration is the process by which ex-combatants acquire civilian status and gain sustainable employment and income. It is a political, social and economic process with an open time-frame, primarily taking place in communities at the local level.
The objective of the DDR process is to contribute to security and stability in post-conflict environments so that recovery and development can begin. DDR helps create an enabling environment for political and peace processes by dealing with security problem that arises when ex-combatants are trying to adjust to normal life, during the vital transition period from conflict to peace and development.
DDR supports ex-combatants to become active participants in the peace process through:
- removing weapons from the hands of combatants;
- taking the combatants out of military structures;
- integrating combatants socially and economically into society.
Where do we do it?
We support DDR processes through several of our missions:- Democratic Republic of the Congo - UN Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO)
- Côte d’Ivoire - UN Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI)
- Haiti - UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH), through Community Violence Reduction
We also provide operational advice and support to:
- Burundi - UN Integrated Peace-Building Office in Burundi (BINUB)*
- Central African Republic - United Nations Integrated Peace-building Office in the Central African Republic (BINUCA)*
- Guinea-Bissau - UN Integrated Peace-building Office in Guinea-Bissau (UNIOGBIS)*

Some news that you could have missed
- Afghanistan: former Muslim could be sentenced to death penalty for conversion: Sayed Mossa, an Afghan convert from Islam to Christianity, has been scheduled to stand trial today and most likely will be sentenced to death. His trial for apostasy will probably be televised in the war-torn country, and it appears Mossa may not even have adequate representation. Every lawyer, all Muslims, that has been appointed by the courts to represent Mossa have refused. They dare not defend someone who converted to Christianity. Mossa is a 45 year old, married, father of six children. His youngest is 8 and he has one disabled child. Mossa is an amputee and has spent 15 years of his life helping others with the International Red Cross. However a co-worker turned Mossa in for being a Christian convert – a crime in most Muslim nations practicing Sharia law.
- Egypt: cleric demands death penalty for importers of female virginity-faking device. Abdul Mouti Bayoumi said supplying the item was akin to spreading vice in society, a crime punishable by death in Islamic Sharia law. The device is said to release liquid imitating blood, allowing a female to feign virginity on her wedding night.
- France: another Catholic church attacked. Father Gabriel, the parish priest, speaks to the press, almost in desperation. For several months, his church has been the target of obscene and offensive tags, excrement-throwing … And last week, the cypresses adjacent to the religious building were set on fire, threatening to spread the flames to church. For this priest, “these acts have a direct link with what is happening in Iraq where Christians were attacked.” At the outset, Father Gabriel talks about inter-community tensions and denounced a “climate of increasingly aggressive and violent maintained by a small group of young people 12/13 years up to 16 years.” At first, Father Gabriel was believed to “incivility” of unemployed youth in the neighborhood. Nonsense of teenagers in need of provocation. Then a few days before the fire of cypress, a youth entered the church during mass, urinating on the porch with while shouting this terrible sentence, “We’ll toast you all, you and your church.” The parish priest complained to the police on Nov. 9.
- Iran: Islamic religious leader expects the Pope to consider the Qu'ran as holy as the Gospels.
- Iraq's Christians unimportant in global politics. "We also must squarely face the unpleasant reality that terrorism done in the name of Islam is not going to disappear on its own or be resolved by dipomacy. As Fr. de Souza wrote in a National Post column earlier this week, “The blood on the altar makes it clear. No amount of goodwill, no amount of dialogue, no amount of circumlocutory evasions, no amount of supine prostrations — nothing will dissuade the jihadists. … The jihadists respect neither man nor God, not even their own. They have killed their fellow Muslims and bombed mosques. The Christians killed on Sunday were Iraqis, their fellow Arabs, their fellow citizens, their neighbors. They kill because they are seized with a murderous hatred. The least we can do is to summon a righteous anger in return.”
- Malaysia: Dad in pork issue claims son is not Muslim. Debates and arguments in Parliament over the last two days had centred on whether or not his son Basil — raised by a Christian mother — was also Muslim. The father left Islam and now is registered as "non-Muslim".
Pakistan: Christian woman sentenced to death on blasphemy charges: Some of the women workers had reportedly been pressuring Bibi to renounce her Christian faith and accept Islam. During one discussion, Asia Bibi (pictured) responded by speaking of how Jesus had died on the cross for the sins of humanity and asking the Muslim women what Muhammad had done for them. She is married and has 4 children. Her sentence has been appealed. There is an internacional campaign to help her.Asia Bibi - Obama praises Jew-free Indonesia.
- Saudi Arabia: Facebook blocked for not conforming with values. The official announced that Saudi’s Communications and Information Technology Commission blocked the site and an error message shows up when Internet users try to access it.
- Spain: Violent Muslim occupation of Cordoba Cathedral did not Violate Law against Offending Religious Sentiments, Judge Says.“There isn’t so much an intention to minimize or harm the religious sentiments of the Catholic religion so much as an attempt to favor, not to say clearly impose, in a false gesture of tolerance, the possibility of carrying out joint worship [in the cathedral],” the judge declared. “It doesn’t act to demerit or discredit the Catholic religion, but rather in favor of joint use.
- Sri Lanka: maid alleges nail torture while working in Kuwait. he doctor said the woman had told surgeons that her Kuwaiti employers drove the nails into her hands and left leg – some as long as 3.5 centimetres (1.5 inches) – when she asked for her salary after working for six months. (AFP)
- Uk: Tower Hamlets' Luftur Rahman puts fundamentalist sympathiser in charge of the money. The four posts (in Tower Hamlets’ council) Lutfur has filled are all from the ranks of the councillors who defected from Labour to him before the election. They include Alibor Choudhury, a man with even closer links than Lutfur to the Muslim supremacist group, the Islamic Forum of Europe. Alibor has, incredibly, been given the key post of cabinet member for resources – that is, he will be in charge of the money.
- UN: Iran, Turkey could be frontrunners for nuclear disarmament. Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said the Islamic Republic and Turkey have potentials to be forerunners of international nuclear disarmament, the local English language satellite Press TV reported on Thursday.”Iran and Turkey can be flag-bearers of nuclear disarmament in the globe to establish a world free from nuclear weapons,” Mottaki said in a meeting with head of Turkish Parliament’s Commission for Foreign Relations Murad Marjan in Tehran on Wednesday. Turkey, which is a partner of the US-led coalition against Iran along with Israel, possesses some 90 thermonuclear B61 bunker buster bombs at the Incirlik nuclear air base.
- West Bank: Blogger faces potential life prison sentence for "insulting Islam". Husayin faces a potential life prison sentence on heresy charges for “insulting the divine essence.” Many in this conservative Muslim town say he should be killed for renouncing Islam, and even family members say he should remain behind bars for life.”He should be burned to death,” said Abdul-Latif Dahoud, a 35-year-old Qalqilya resident. The execution should take place in public “to be an example to others,” he added.

Posts for Nov 3rd: Iranians in Isle of Man, Imam condemned in Spain, Sakineh update, Malaysian blogger Kamaruddin, Iraqi massacre update, Women and the Taliban, Algeria ambush, Obama adviser on "anti-Muslim sentiment"
- Investigation: Why did Iran register ships in the Isle of Man? File on 4 investigation has discovered questions over whether the Iranians have already sidestepped the international arms embargo, on the UK’s own doorstep by setting up companies in the Isle of Man to register ships for its fleet.
- Spain: Cunit's imam, Benbraim Mhamed, sentenced to a year in prison for coercing a woman to wear the Hijab:The president of Cunit’s Islamic cultural association, Abderrahman el Osri, was convicted of the same crime and sentenced to nine months in prison and the imam’s daughter, Hafssa Ben Brahim, to pay a fine of 730 euros. They may not approach the victim or communicate with her for two years and must pay 1,500 euros in moral damages. If it would have been me, I would have expelled them all. They have given sufficient evidence (with death threats and intimidation to her family) that they are not succesfully integrated in Spanish society.
- Apparently Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani was going to be executed today, but in the end she has not. But her family is also fearing for the lifes of both his son and lawyer, both arrested with two German journalists when they were trying to speak about her. When attempting to secure lawyers for the two, authorities have said that the two men did not need legal representation.
- Malaysia: exiled Muslim blogger accused of "insulting Islam" is free to return. He has refused: “This order has lapsed but it does not stop the authorities from seeking my client’s detention on other grounds should he return,” said lawyer Jadadish Chandra. He lives in the UK now.
- Iraq: Pope sends mesage to Syriac Archbishop of Baghdad. Meanwhile, the Vatican envoy to the UN, Archbishop Chullikatt, said that although the Holy See favors efforts to protect religion from “hate speech and incitement to violence,” his delegation was uneasy with the approach that targets “defamation of religion.” In practice, he said, measures promoted to stop “defamation of religion” have actually “served as a means for State-sponsored oppression of religious believers.” Let's see if someone really begins protesting about the abominable UN Resolution on the Defamation of Religions.
- Afghanistan: negotiating with Taliban will crush women. "The evidence that girls will be able to go to school under the Taliban is slim. While girls might go to schools in some areas, in my experience, this is highly exceptional and by no means a uniform practice. The Taliban have been quite consistent in their beliefs that girls should not be educated and women who work outside the home deserve to die, a belief enacted in the Taliban’s murder of numerous female politicians, elections workers, policewomen and other prominent professional women. They are hardly interested in the protection or welfare of children given they regularly use children as suicide bombers and spotters and have hung boys they accuse of “spying for the Americans“".
- Algeria: Islamic terrorists ambush soldiers: 2 killed, 3 wounded: On Oct 3rd, another 5 soldiers were killed on the same spot, a stronghold of AQIM.
- US: Obama adviser decries "anti-Muslim sentiments".Hussain said he’s concerned about the increasing vitriol directed at Muslims, which he said may be due to their increasing visibility in the U.S. It’s a “reaction to a lot of progress made by Muslim communities,” he said.

Posts for Oct 28th: Omar Khadr, French riots, Geert Wilder's trial, Challenge Radio, Separation of religion and state,
- On GITMO detainee Omar Kadhr. Psychiatrics have claimed that his time at GITMO has radicalised him, but in 2002, three months after he was arrested, he said that he was happy he had killed a US medic with a grenade. His family has had throughout the years a very close relationship with Al-Qaeda leaders, including Bin Laden, whom he men while in Afghanistan/Pakistan with his father.
- French author Guy de Milliére on recent French riots: "the situation has worsened (since 2005). Approximately 700 “no-go zones” pepper France: enclaves ruled by gangs, drug traffickers and imams. Firefighters and doctors venture into these places rarely and only with extreme caution, when they have no other choice. Graffiti on the walls read: “French out!” or “jihad.”"
- Opinion: Geert Wilders' trial has backfired in any way possible: "The politically charged trial took another twist last week when one of Mr. Wilders‘ expert witnesses, the Arabist Hans Jansen, wrote on his website that a member of the judiciary had tried to influence him. He said that at a dinner party before he was supposed to testify, one of the appeals judges whose decision compelled the prosecutors to press charges tried to “convince me of the correctness of the decision to take Wilders to court.”
- Project: Challenge Radio. A project from the author of 1386AD. As I said in T&P, this is not my endorsement, but just give some publicity to an interesting Conservative project to build a radio talk show, with an special focus on Islamic supremacism's problems in Europe.
- "Islam not invasive" motto: "Separation of religion and state is not an option for Muslims because it requires us to abandon Allah's decree for that of a man". A very interesting article from Islamic website Islaam.
- Hirsi Ali: "Islam is more than a religion".
- Pakistan: Suicide bombings are ticket to heaven, Taliban school teaches. “I was told that if I disclose my relations with them, they will behead my family and me,” 16-year-old Salaam said.
- Iran: imprisoned Human Rights Lawyer on hunger strike, another journalist imprisoned. Jailed Iranian human rights attorney Nasrine Sotoudeh defended dissidents, minorities and women who've run afoul of Iran's legal system. She is in hunger strike since Sept 17th, but his family has not been able to see her since, says her husband. On the other hand, a tribunal has condemned Jila BaniYaghoub to one year prison term and 30 years ban from journalism. She is also a prominent Iranian journalist and women’s rights activist, who signed the One Million Signature Petition against discriminatory laws for women. Her husband is currently serving a 5-year-prison term in Evin prison.
- Iranian Mullahcracy to protect women's freedom? Iran, where a woman convicted of adultery has been sentenced to death by stoning, is likely to become a member of the board of the new UN agency to promote equality for women, prompting outrage from the US and human rights groups.

US: Obama freezes properties of Somali Al-Qaeda-linked individuals and of Al-Shebab
US President Barack Obama Tuesday signed an executive order freezing the property in the United States of members of a group of radical Islamists "contributing to the conflict in Somalia."About time...
Obama said in his order he "declared a national emergency to deal with the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by that conflict."
He said that the measure, which named 11 individuals and the Al-Qaeda-inspired hardline Shebab militia, was "not targeted at the entire country of Somalia, but rather is intended to target those who threaten peace and stability in Somalia."
Anyway, that clarification seems a little bit useless, isn't it? Of course, the measure, which goes against 11 individuals and a terrorist group is not targeted at the entire country.
While the ban on music stopped the broadcasting on several radios, fights continue, with an added problem: lack of doctors and nurses. The existent have to cope with the increasing number of casualties:
According to WHO, only 250 qualified doctors, 860 nurses and 116 midwives work today in Somalia, home to the lowest number of health workers of any country in the Horn of Africa or Middle East.Horrible perspective.
Also Mark Bowden, the United Nations Humanitarian Co-ordinator for Somalia, expressed serious concern over the Somali crisis, which has deepened over the years since the fall of Siad Barre in 1991.
The UN official added that since the start of the year, fighting in Mogadishu has forced over 100,000 people from their homes.

United Nations Website Posts Blood-Libel Against Israel
Allegations that Israel harvests Palestinian organs have re-surfaced and are posted on the UN Human Rights Council Web site in the form of a statement written by an NGO.
The International Organization for the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination [EAFORD] accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing and massacres” before it moved on to the issue of what it called “dead, kidnapped and killed Palestinians.”
“Their [Palestinian] human organs, as reported in the press, can be a source of immense wealth through illegal trafficking in the world market,” wrote EAFORD.
“Israeli physicians, Medical Centres, rabbis and the Israeli army may be involved,” it stated.
“After Israeli physicians remove organs they think marketable, the soldiers bury the bodies in graves that carry only numbers and no names, or place them in sealed caskets and deliver them under curfew conditions to the families and supervise the digging of the graves and burial,” stated the NGO document, which is posted on the UNHRC’s Web site.
EAFORD called for a boycott of Israel physicians and medical centers. It also asked the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to report on the matter to the Security Council and to demand that it be sent to the International Criminal Court for action.
EAFORD’s statement along with that of other NGOs can be found on the UNHRC Web site in a section for documents, which were submitted for the council’s 13th session, which is taking place this March in Geneva.
NGOs regularly submit documents to the UNHRC relating to matters under debate. In this session the council is debating the human rights situation in the Palestinian territories.
The fact that the allegations were on the site was first publicized by UN Watch in Geneva, which on Wednesday sent a protest letter to the UN High Commissioner forHuman Rights and the council’s president.
The council and the commissioner’s office, “however unwittingly, helped to propagate an anti-Semitic libel by publishing [the EAFORD’s charges] as an official UN document,” wrote UN Watch Executive Director Hillel Neuer.
He called on the UN council and high commissioner to “immediately cease circulating this racist, hateful and inflammatory text to the ambassadors and other delegates of the UNHRC.”

Carla del Ponte: "Bosnian Muslims used Serbs for organ harvesting"
h:Serb prisoners had their internal organs removed and sold by ethnic Albanians during the Kosovo war, according to allegations in a new book by the world’s best known war crimes prosecutor.Carla Del Ponte, who stepped down in January as chief prosecutor at the Hague tribunal for crimes committed in the Balkan wars of the 1990s, said investigators found a house suspected of being a laboratory for the illegal trade.
a) the negative of the UNMIK (United Nations International Mission for Kosovo) to investigate the crimes.
b) the responsibility of the actual Kosovo's Prime Minister, Hashim Thaci, in the illegal trade.
Now, the representative of the Serbs families whose sons were kidnapped, is going to sue Carla del Ponte, for not having released these news before.

"Discussing Sharia here is an insult to our religion"
The video containing the moment of the intervention of IHEU (International Humanist and Ethical Union) and the statement sent to UN by this organization can be found here.IHEU
has responded to claims that the “Cairo Declaration of Human Rights
in Islam” is “not an alternative” to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights but “complementary” to it. In a written statement to the UN Human Rights Council
, IHEU opposed any resolution that seeks to limit the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration.
On Human Rights Day, 10 December 2007, the Pakistani Ambassador to the UN Human Rights Council claimed that the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam, adopted in 1990 by the 56 member states of the Orgainsation of the Islamic Conference “is not an alternative” to the Universal Declaration but “complementary”. Complementary? Yet the Cairo Declaration makes no mention of the Universal Declaration and clearly states that: “All the rights and freedoms stipulated in this Declaration are subject to the Islamic Shari’ah”, and “The Islamic Shari’ah is the only source of reference for the explanation or clarification to any of the articles of this Declaration.”
