All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

Thoughts On Netanyahu's Speech: Much Ado About Nothing
This guy thinks pretty much the same thing I do of yesterday's speech from the Israeli Prime Minister.
From Drew at Ace of Spades:
My overwhelming reaction to yesterday’s speech by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is, “that’s it?” Maybe part of my reaction is based on having seen only part of the speech on TV but having read the transcript.
Delivery and the setting can give an average speech a much bigger feel, which was the whole point of inviting him to address Congress. But mostly, aside from a few up to date reference to the current negotiations, I’d heard it all before from him.
Go back and watch or read any of Netanyahu’s speeches to the UN or AIPAC over the last few years and it’s basically there. The problem is that while Netanyahu is right, it doesn’t matter.
Obama has proven to be impervious to outside pressure when he’s committed to doing something stupid and or dangerous, which is to say most of the time. If anything Netanyahu’s high profile challenge to him will probably make it more likely that Obama will see himself as doing the right thing.
Netanyahu’s speech amounted to “get a better deal”. Well that’s not on the table.
As shopworn as Netanyahu’s speech was he has the better of the argument. What he doesn’t have is anything resembling enough pull to implement them. His only real course of action is a unilateral attack by Israel. The response by all parties, including the US, would be so costly to Israel would be devastating.
We need to face a rather obvious fact: Iran wants a nuke and they won’t stop until they have one. We can’t negotiate them out of that because we simply don’t have anything they want more to offer them in exchange. They’ll bet, correctly, that once they have it they are safe and we’ll do business with them because reality will force us to.
Netanyahu was right and has been for a while but the last best chance to stop Iran from going nuclear died with the fraudulent NIE in 2007. Once Bush’s hands were tied and Obama was elected, the die was cast. The rest is just killing time until the inevitable.PASTORIUS COMMENT:
Here are my thoughts:
I was looking for a speech of visceral gravity, a speech that said,
"I've been here before, and I told you what the consequences are, and I told you what I would have to do considering the inevitability of the consequences. And, frankly, I'm through talking. You guys can talk. I have 6 million Jews to save. So I say to you what I think to myself 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ever since I heard that Iran was building a Nuclear weapon, and simultaneously threatening to wipe Israel off the map:
NEVER AGAIN!
NEVER AGAIN!
NEVER AGAIN!
Now, to my feelings about the speech:
I know we're all pulling for Bibi, but he did not give that speech.
And we're all the worse for it.
Frankly, I feel a sense impending doom equivalent to that which I felt when Israel pulled out of Lebanon in 2006, rather than hunting Hizbollah down and killing them.
There comes a time, I'm afraid, when you have to seize the moment. If you don't, the moment passes, and terrible doom befalls us.
Jews may be the canary in the coalmine.
But we are the miners in that metaphor.
And we're about to choke on poison.

UK Guardian: US Nuclear Scientist secretly taped by FBI claiming he could bomb New York, Would provide 40 Nukes to Venezuela
From the Guardian:
A disgruntled, former Los Alamos National Laboratory scientist promised to build 40 nuclear weapons for Venezuela and design a bomb targeted for New York City in exchange for “money and power,” according to secret FBI recordings released Wednesday.
In the recordings, Pedro Leonardo Mascheroni tells an agent posing as a Venezuelan official that the bombs would prevent the United States from invading the oil-rich nation and brags to his wife that the passing of secrets would make him wealthy.
“I’m going to be the boss with money and power,” the naturalized US citizen from Argentina is heard saying. “I’m not an American anymore. This is it.”
Mascheroni said his New York bomb wouldn’t kill anyone but would disable the city’s electrical system and help Venezuela become a nuclear superpower. It was not known how realistic his New York bombing idea was.
But he suggested that once Venezuela obtained a bomb, the country should explode it “to let the world know what we’ve got,” according to the recordings.
The recordings were played Wednesday in US District Court in Albuquerque before a federal judge sentenced Mascheroni, 79, to five years in prison followed by three years of supervised release as part of a plea agreement.

ISIS Claim: "Islamic State does have a Dirty bomb"
Islamic State terrorists are now claiming on social media that they have a "dirty bomb" in their possession. ISIS-affiliated users initially professed the information on Twitter, and added they had stolen 40 kg of Uranium from Mosul University after the city was overtaken by the jihadis in June.Is the Islamic state bluffing? Don't count on it.
UK’s Mirror reported that an ISIS supporter revealed the terror group had already weaponized the Uranium and turned it into a "dirty bomb."
“O by the way Islamic State does have a Dirty bomb. We found Radioactive [sic] material from Mosul university,” said the tweet by Islamic State militant who called himself Muslim al-Britani. “We’ll find out what dirty bombs are and what they do. We’ll also discuss what might happen if one actually went off in a public area.”
He added, threateningly, “This sort of bomb would be terribly destructive if went off in LONDON becuz it would be more of a disruptive than a destructive weapon.”
The man responsible for the Twitter post reportedly fled Britain in 2012 after posting bail on terrorism charges. He is believed to be in Syria fighting for the Islamic State.
Iraq’s UN Ambassador said in July that the nuclear material had been stolen from the Mosul University, which led UN Sec-General Ban Ki-moon to warn the substances “can be used in manufacturing weapons of mass destruction.
"These nuclear materials, despite the limited amounts mentioned, can enable terrorist groups, with the availability of the required expertise, to use it separate or in combination with other materials in its terrorist acts," said Mohamed Ali Alhakim, the UN’s Ambassador to Iraq.

Nuclear Attacks In The U.S.?
I am unclear as to why the government chooses to keep this from the American people. The easy answer is that "we don't want people to panic". Understood, but blissful ignorance is not a strategy; wouldn't we be better off knowing and educating ourselves as to who the enemy is, the ideology that motivates him and what is his objective?
Before you read on, bookmark this page: Atlas Shrugs: WHAT TO DO IF A NUCLEAR DISASTER IS IMMINENT.
While the following explosive revelations are unnerving, it pales in comparison to the recent moves Obama has taken to dismantle the very safeguards we have in place to track terrorists. Further, law enforcement is now focusing on outreach, not investigation. We extend a hand, they chop it off.
This from a confidential source of mine, Jan P:
I once had a client “The Rule of Law consortium” headed by the late David Braunheim. The rule of Law Consortium had an AID contract to help former Soviet countries establish new, Democratic legal systems.
I was in their office one day when they came back from a seminar given by a former KGB agent. This agent said that 10 or 12 suitcase nuclear bombs had disappeared from Russia and were presumed to be in the hands of the Arabs. This article from 1997 claims that 100 were missing. The date of the story, 1997, is about the time that I heard about the seminar.
JFK Terminal Plot
The second attempt that I know of is the JFK terrorist plot. When the plot was announced to the public, we were told that the terrorists planned to blow up fuel tanks at JFK and that the fire would spread through the pipelines into Brooklyn. I have had enough science classes (college level) to know that this could not possibly happen.
Reports mentioned an Arab terrorist named Shukrijumah. Shukrijumah’s name came up in some news reports. I did research and found references to him on the island of Trinidad. At least one of them had Shukrijumah talking about having a nuclear bomb on the north end of the island. Some of those sites have disappeared.
Gerard group has an excellent piece: Focus on the CaribbeanThe terrorist was last seen in Mexico, where, on Nov. 1, 2004, he allegedly hijacked a Piper PA Pawnee cropduster from Ejido Queretaro near Mexacli to transport a nuclear weapon and nuclear equipment into the U.S. The plane's tail number was XBCYP.
An indirect source in Ha’aretz Bitahon b’ Artzot habrit said that at least one nuclear bomb was captured in the JFK plot.
Another source, whom I know personally, told me that at least one nuclear bomb was captured as part of the JFK Plot.
The JFK bust was covered here at Atlas extensively.
Excerpt from Atlas:
"He had a vision that would make the WTC attack seem small."
Kennedy Airport Terror Plot Thwarted
The official said the plotters had conducted surveillance on giant jet fuel tanks at JFK and the pipeline. They had taken surveillance video of the targets and took it to Trinidad to review the tape, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the arrests were not yet announced.
These Islamic terrorists have been tentatively tied to Jamaat Muslimeen -- "struggle for Islam" -- originating from Trinidad (the Caribbean is now a hot spot.) Places you least expect.
The JFK terror mosque here.
It seems that a Parliamentarian was involved in this plot. Yes, a government official.
One suspect, a U.S. citizen who is a native of Guyana and who once worked at the airport, was described by a source as "a very angry Muslim extremist."
In all, four individuals, including the former Guyana parliament member, Abdul Kadir, and Russell
Defreitas, a U.S. citizen and native of Guyana who worked as an airport cargo worker, have been charged with conspiring to attack JFK. (Photo: Abdul Kadir - on the left)
Also in custody are Kareem Ibrahim, a citizen of Trinidad held in Trinidad, and Abdel Nur, a citizen of Guyana. The United States is planning to seek their extradition.
Roslynn Mauskopf, US attorney for the Eastern District of New York: "The most chilling plot imaginable." The damage and carnage impossible to fathom. The devastation that would be caused is just unthinkable."
Plot spread from NY to Guyana and Trinidad.
" Huge concern about the fuel line. The feeding tube that feeds international commerce, airport, residences." "The Buckeye Pipeline (orginates from Allentown Pa.), a 40 million fuel line, runs from New Jersey to Nassau (JFK) ......" It is the central fuel line.
"This plot similar and different to ones in the past (the Lincoln tunnel planned blow up, the '93 stock exchange plot, the Financial District plot) . It is different as it is tied to the Caribbean. Similiar in that it is a self radicalized New Yorker plotting to betray his country with a catastrophic event."
The plot began in the US and then spread to Trinidad and Guyana, officials said.
The group had shown unusual persistence, seeking finance and expert advice and gathering photographic and video surveillance as well as satellite images, said Mr Mershon.
"This is a very determined group," he said.
"Look at the world through the eyes, through the prism of September 11th."One of the suspects (Defreitas - sp?) was quoted as saying: "the attacks would result in the destruction of the whole of JFK and destroy whole parts of Queens. Few people would survive."
"Even the twin towers can't touch it. This would destroy the whole US economy"
The complaint adds that an informant and Defreitas discussed the war in Lebanon in August 2006 and agreed, "Muslims always incur the wrath of the world while the Jews get a pass."
It was at that point, court records say, Defreitas shared with the informant "that he had a vision that would make the WTC attack seem small."

FEDS TARGET NUKE PHANTOM NY Post
Al Qaeda's so-called nuclear whiz kid - a "tantalizing terror figure" with a $5 million bounty on his head - was the radical big shot investigators had hoped to snag in their 18-month JFK-plot probe, The Post has learned.
The name of "invisible hand" Adnan Gulshair el-Shukrijumah, reportedly the man Osama bin Laden tapped to lead a previous scheme to detonate nuclear bombs simultaneously in several U.S. cities, came up at several points in taped conversations during the probe, according to law-enforcement sources familiar with the investigation.
Shukrijumah grew up in Guyana, according to terror expert and author Paul L. Williams. Shukrijumah's late father, Gulshair, an Islamic scholar, once served as a temporary imam at Brooklyn's al-Farouq mosque, which is well-known in radical circles, Williams said.
The mosque has connections to a scheme to fund an al Qaeda-linked sheik as well as one of the 1993 World Trade Center bombers.
[...]
Some terror experts think 31-year-old Shukrijumah is among a handful of up-and-coming leaders of al Qaeda handpicked by Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, to keep the terrorist network running.
Apparently hoping to be part of that network was suspected JFK-plot mastermind Russell Defreitas, 63.
Defreitas, a native of Guyana and former cargo worker at the airport, landed on the authorities' radar after approaching a drug dealer-turned-informant at a mosque at Bedford Avenue and Fulton Street in Brooklyn, allegedly seeking help.
[...]
Kareem Ibrahim, of Trinidad, and another suspect, Abdul Kadir, of Guyana, were in custody in Trinidad awaiting extradition hearings. Kadir is a former mayor of the Guyanese coal-mining town of Linden and a one-time radical member of the country's parliament.
Kadir was arrested as he boarded the plane to Venezuela - where his family said he planned to pick up a travel visa to attend an Islamic religious conference in Iran.
ADNAN EL-SHUKRIJUMAH LAST SEEN IN TRINIDAD
Adnan el-Shukrijumah: The man commissioned to nuke U.S.
Adnan G. El Shukrijumah is a Saudi terror suspect with a $5 million bounty on his head. The FBI has been hunting him for over three years. He has been billed as the “next Mohammed Atta.”Adnan Shukrijunah the son of Saudi funded Wahabi cleric in Miramar, Florida USA was named by US law enforcement as 'Mohammed Atta's sucessor' based on information from Khalid Sheik Mohammed the 9/11 mastermind who was captured in Pakistan in 2003. Adnan is a former resident of Miramar, South Florida, where he attended computer and English classes at Broward Community College in 1997. A native of Guyana, El Shukrijumah's father, Gulshai, died in Miramar on June 2004.
Being the father of an aspiring dirty bomber with terrorist ties to terrorist going back 20 years, and having one's name on the Saudi payroll appears to have been a job asset for Adnan Shukrijumah's father Gulshair. After the Al Hirjah mosque next to his Miramar home supposedly asked him to step down, due to unwanted publicity, Sofian Abdelaziz Zakkout, the director of AMANA- The American Muslim Society of North America, ,and a Shukrijumah family friend offered "the Sheik' a place on the board of directors of the Shamshuddin Islamic Center.
In 2003 Gulshair intimated that losing his $500 dollar a month position as Imam at Al Hijrah would bring financial hardship to him and his family. He sniveled to the press that "I feel very said because I have done no wrong", and declared that "if my son is suspect in something it does not mean that I too am also suspect."
According to Michael Isikoff's and Mark Hosenball's April 2004 Newsweek investigative articles into Saudi government terror funding:
"The Florida based Imam (Gulshair Shukrijumah), has been on the FBI radar screen for some time."
"In response to the U.S. calls for tighter controls the Saudi government terminated payments to Gulshair El Shukrijumah, along with a number of other clerics being supported by the embassy."
Gulshair Shukrijumah collected $19,400 dollars in checks from the Saudi embassy between 2000 and 2003 . He also acted as interpreter for the 'Blind Sheik' Omar Abdel Rahman who masterminded the 1993 WTC bombings, as well as plots to bomb other U.S. landmarks, and instigated attacks abroad.
Shukrijumah, described as a pilot and bombmaker, and is also known by several aliases and nicknames, including "Jaffar the Pilot”, was among several suspected al-Qaeda figures who met in the northwestern province of Waziristan in Pakistan during March 2004, according to the Los Angeles Times and other publications. Pakistani officials said that meeting also was attended by Osama bin Laden lieutenant Abu Eisa al Hindi, an Indian convert to radical Islam and surveillance specialist living in Britain, Mohammed Junaid Babar, a Pakistani-American who arrived at the summit with cash, sleeping bags and ponchos and communications engineer Mohammed Naeem Noor Khan, whose computer discs allegedly contained surveillance reports for a planned attack on buildings in the United States and Britain.
Accoridng to the FBI Report, two of the suspects arrested, Abdul Kadir & Abdel Nur, were members of Jamaat al-Muslimeen (JAM), based in Trinidad. Implicated in the JFK terror plot Jamaat Muslimeen LEADER YASIN ABU BAKR -

Nov. 2005
Government's drastic anti-crime initiative paid off yesterday, when a large contingent of police and army officers from the Special Anti-crime Unit (SAUTT) and other sections of the Police Service raided the Jamaat al Muslimeen compound at Mucurapo Road.Washington DC, within the last two years
The same source as above told me about this attempt to attack Washington, DC with a nuclear bomb. Authorities got word about a plan to fly a bomb into the airport on Tangier Island and sent out a team to intercept the attack. There was a shootout at the airport. The terrorists were killed and the bomb captured. Tangier Island is in the Chesapeake bay about 90 miles south of Washington, DC.
My source said that her/his source was involved in the shootout and killed one of the terrorists.
Another source, involved with law enforcement, who would not put it in writing, was able to confirm the story. (This source also said that if Americans knew what was going on, they would panic.) An old friend with “connections” said that incidents occur that are immediately classified secret. He said that if the general population knew, there would be panic.
Boston
I saw a few stories about a failed nuclear bomb attempt on the Republican National Convention in New York in 2004 on the Internet. They, like so many other stories of this type, have disappeared. I mentioned this to an investigative reporter. He replied:
The incident in 2004 was at the Dems convention, not the GOP convention – and it involved a friend of mine.
He went on to tell me that the bomb was a dud and did not go off.
There is much more. Go read the whole thing.

Jihadis Discuss Plans to Seize Pakistan’s Nuclear Arsenal
By: Abdul Hameed Bakier
Urged by a senior al-Qaeda ideologue to take over Pakistan, members of jihadi internet forums have begun to examine the possibility of controlling Pakistan’s nuclear weapons (al-faloja1.com, April 24). At the same time, jihadis continue to collect information on nuclear facilities around the globe, especially Israel’s nuclear projects, waiting for an opportunity to perpetrate successful terrorist attacks against these facilities after massive terrorist attacks using conventional weapons failed to give rise to the global supremacy of Islamic law (al-faloja1.com, April 22).
On March 14, al-Fajr Media Center released a 29-page book entitled Sharpening the Blades in the Battle against the Government and Army of Pakistan by a senior al-Qaeda leader, Abu Yahya al-Libi (alboraq.info, May 3; see Terrorism Focus, May 8). Al-Libi’s work is designed to incite jihad against the Pakistani government. The author suggests Pakistan was founded in 1947 to uphold and implement Shari’a (Islamic law), but has since been plagued by successive corrupt governments that manipulated the Pakistani army and security services into opposing the implementation of Shari’a. Al-Libi cites numerous Hadiths and Quranic verses attesting to the religious obligation to oust the government and take over Pakistan.
Relative to al-Libi’s provocative book, jihadi forums have focused on the future of Pakistan. A forum member nicknamed “Mohami al-Dawla” said no one had anticipated Pakistan would be overwhelmed by a jihadi surge to become a base for the revival of the Taliban’s Islamic Emirate. After the tribal areas became a safe haven for the mujahideen retreating from Afghanistan after the 2001 U.S. invasion, Pakistan facilitated the reformation of mujahideen forces who are now “at two bow’s lengths” from controlling Afghanistan. Although U.S. strategic policies are aimed at weakening Pakistan and imposing conditions in favor of its other allies in the region, the United States is helpless against possible Taliban control of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal. With the mujahideen in control of the Swat valley, only 90 miles from the capital of Islamabad, al-Dawla maintains it’s only a matter of time before the Taliban take full control of Pakistan. “This is not mythology or illusions. This is inevitable.” Al-Dawla adds that the mujahideen should prepare countermeasures against U.S. plans to prevent the fall of Pakistan’s 24-48 nuclear warheads to the mujahideen by seizing, dismantling and smuggling Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal into those nations he describes as the “enemies of Islam.”
By controlling Pakistan, al-Dawla is confident the mujahideen would not only control Pakistan’s weapons of mass destruction, but would also gain control of copies of all the secret Pakistan-India agreements designed to prevent the targeting of nuclear facilities in any confrontation between the two countries. “By possessing highly sensitive maps and intelligence on India nuclear facilities, the enemies of Islam, the Hindus, would be very vulnerable.” To handle the Pakistani nuclear weapons, the mujahideen need to build their military and intelligence capabilities by recruiting experienced people from the Pakistani government. “Some might think it’s too early to talk about this subject, but a thorough assessment of the jihadi military situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan indicates the battlefield is ripe. Preplanning for nuclear arsenal control is a lot better than planning for 30 years of jihad” concludes al-Dawla.
Other forum members described the importance of winning over Pakistani nuclear scientists such as Abdul Qadeer Khan, who is accused of promoting nuclear proliferation in the Islamic world and helping to transfer nuclear weapons technology to Libya. The mujahideen must protect such scientists from possible liquidation if the Taliban succeed in taking over Pakistan because even if the enemies of Islam dismantle and move Pakistan’s nuclear weapons, they would not leave behind the brains that developed these weapons.
In the same forum, members launched a new project of research on nuclear installations around the world entitled “Nuclear targets and facilities to be attacked.” The research begins by mapping the 17 nuclear facilities and installations spread over Pakistan. Part two of the project is to map the location of Israel’s 400 nuclear warheads.
Israeli nuclear and vital military and storage facilities are discussed in detail, including the Negev Nuclear Research Center at Dimona, the Naqab nuclear complex, and the Tel Nof air base. The section of research on Israel concludes by inciting Jordanian jihadis to attack Dimona, only 15 km from the Jordanian border.
Other countries examined by the jihadi forum members include France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Holland, Turkey, South Africa and the UK. For the United States and Russia, the jihadis posted several maps showing the locations of nuclear facilities and strategic naval bases, putting the number of Russian nuclear warheads at 14,000 and the number of U.S. warheads at 5,400.
Finally, the jihadis express their belief that suicide attacks against nuclear facilities would bring the enemies of Islam to their knees, and thus urge Salafi-Jihadis everywhere to conduct separate and more detailed research on the nuclear weapons facilities of the aforementioned countries.

Nuclear war is Kim Jong-il's game plan
Asia Times:
Nuclear war is Kim Jong-il's game plan
By Kim Myong Chol
TOKYO - A little-noted fact about the second nuclear test conducted on May 25 by the Kim Jong-il administration of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is that it was a highly successful fission trigger test for multi-megaton warheads.
These types of warheads can be detonated in outer space, far above the United States, evaporating its key targets. This is a significant indication of the supreme leader's game plan for nuclear war with the crippled superpower and its allies, Japan and South Korea.
The North Korean Foreign Ministry on April 29 announced its plan to test-fire what it termed a long-awaited "intercontinental ballistic missile" (ICBM), the first public ICBM test after numerous missile tests, short-range, medium-range, and long-range, were conducted without notice.
On March 9, the General Staff of the nuclear-armed Korean People's Army had begun preparing to launch simultaneous retaliatory strikes on the US, Japan and South Korea in response to their act of war.
Although no appropriate test site for a thermonuclear bomb is available on the Korean Peninsula, North Korean scientists and engineers are confident, as a series of computer simulations have proved that their hydrogen bombs will be operational. The North Korean message is that any soft spots of the US, Japan and South Korea's defense lines will be used as the testing grounds for their thermonuclear weapons.
The Korean Central News Agency said on May 25 that the underground nuclear test was carried out at the request of nuclear scientists and engineers and reported:
The current nuclear test was safely conducted on a new higher level in
terms of its explosive power and technology of its control and the results of
the test helped satisfactorily settle the scientific and technological problems
arising in further increasing the power of nuclear weapons and steadily
developing nuclear technology.
John Pike, the founder and director of globalsecurity.org, told the Weekly Standard on October 19, 2006, that the North Korean nuclear test that year may have been a test of a "trigger device" for a much larger hydrogen bomb. Writing in the New York Times on April 7, 2009, he revealed that "North Korea's low-yield nuclear test in October 2006 did "coincide with the sub-kiloton tests of the fission trigger for a hydrogen bomb". He added, "possibly North Korea's hydrogen bombs can be easily fitted on missiles".
The Kim Jong-il administration has developed its global nuclear strike capability primarily as a deterrent to US invasion to keep the Korean Peninsula out of war. Secondly, it needs operational nuclear missiles targeted at US and Japanese targets in the event of a DPRK-US war.
The North Korean state-run newspaper, Minjo Joson, vowed on June 9 to use nuclear weapons in war as "merciless means of offense to deal retaliatory strikes" against anyone who "dares infringe upon the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK even a bit".
Scenario for nuclear war
After shifting to a plan B, Supreme Leader Kim Jong-il has put in place a nuclear game plan as a part of the plan's military first policy to deal with nuclear rogue state America and its allies South Korea and Japan. (See Kim Jong-il shifts to plan B, Asia Times Online, May 21)
The nuclear game plan is designed firstly to militarily prevent the US from throwing a monkey wrench into the plans of the Kim Jong-il administration for economic prosperity by 2012 - the centenary of the birth of founding father Kim Il-sung - in a bid to complete its membership of the three elite clubs of nuclear, space and economic powers.
Its second aim is to win the hearts and minds of the 70 million Korean people, North, South and abroad, and leave little doubt in their eyes that Kim Jong-il has what it takes to neutralize and phase out the American presence in Korea. This will hasten the divided parts of ancestral Korean land - bequeathed by Dankun 5,000 years ago and Jumon 2,000 years ago - coming together under a confederal umbrella as a reunified state.
It is designed to impress upon the Korean population that Kim Jong-il is a Korean David heroically standing up to the American Goliath, that he can lead the epic effort to settle long-smoldering moral scores with the US over a more than 100-year-old grudge match that dates as far as the 1905 Taft-Katsura Agreement and the 1866 invasion of Korea by the USS General Sherman.
Third, Kim Jong-il has described the shift to plan B as a stern notice for the governments of the US and its junior allies that they cannot get away with their hostile behavior any longer, unless they are prepared to leave their booming economies consumed in a great conflagration of retaliatory thermonuclear attacks.
The game plan assumes that the US is unlikely to shake off its aggressive behavior until it is wiped off this planet. The Barack Obama administration has not taken much time to reveal its true colors, which are no different from the George W Bush administration. There have been four compelling signs:
First, the March 9-20 Key Resolve (Team Spirit) joint war games between the US and South Korea.
Second, the US-led United Nation Security Council's (UNSC) condemnation of an innocuous April 5 satellite launch.
Third, the rehashing of counterfeit money charges that the US has failed to produce compelling evidence to support. As Newsweek wrote in its June 8 issue, "The Treasury Department couldn't find a single shred of hard evidence pointing to North Korean production of counterfeit money."
Fourth, the presence of Bush holdovers in the Obama administration, such as Stuart Levy, the architect of Bush-era financial sanctions intended to criminalize the DPRK.
Four types of hydrogen bomb raids
The game plan for nuclear war specifies four types of thermonuclear assault: (1) the bombing of operating nuclear power stations; (2) detonations of a hydrogen bombs in seas off the US, Japan and South Korea; (3) detonations of H-bombs in space far above their heartlands; and (4) thermonuclear attacks on their urban centers.
The first attack involves converting operating nuclear power plants on the coastline of the three countries into makeshift multi-megaton H-bombs.
The New York Times on January 24, 1994, quoted Paul Leventhal, president of the Nuclear Control Institute, warning that North Korea could easily launch de-facto hydrogen bomb attacks on South Korea.
"North Korean retaliation to bombing could result in vastly more fallout in the South than in the North ... North Korean retaliatory bombing could bring Chernobyls multiplied."
If bombed, one average operating nuclear power station is estimated to spew out as much deadly fallout as 150-180 H-bombs. Bombing one nuclear power station would render the Japanese archipelago and South Korea uninhabitable. Doing the same to the US may require bombing one plant on its west coast and another on its east coast.
Nothing is easier than bombing a power plant on a coastline. There is no need to use a ballistic missile. Primitive means will do the job.
The US has 103 operating nuclear power stations with onsite storage of a huge quantity of spent fuel rods and Japan has 53 operating atomic power stations. Japan has a stockpile of weapons-grade plutonium - enough to assemble more than 1,000 atomic bombs in a short period of time. South Korea has 20 operating nuclear power stations with onsite storage of a huge quantity of spent fuel rods.
The detonation of sea-borne or undersea H-bombs planted on the three countries' continental shelves will trigger nuclear tsunamis with devastating consequences.
A 2006 RAND study of a ship-based 10-kiloton nuclear blast on the Port of Long Beach had some harrowing conclusions:
"Within the first 72 hours, the attack would devastate a vast portion of
the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Because ground-burst explosions generate
particularly large amounts of highly radioactive debris, fallout from the blast
would cause much of the destruction. In some of the most dramatic possible
outcomes:
Sixty thousand people might die instantly from the blast itself or quickly
thereafter from radiation poisoning.
One hundred and fifty thousand more might be exposed to hazardous levels of
radioactive water and sediment from the port, requiring emergency medical
treatment.
The blast and subsequent fires might completely destroy the entire
infrastructure and all ships in the Port of Long Beach and the adjoining Port of
Los Angeles.
Six million people might try to evacuate the Los Angeles region.
Two to three million people might need relocation because fallout will have
contaminated a 500-square-kilometer area.
Gasoline supplies might run critically short across the entire region
because of the loss of Long Beach's refineries - responsible for one-third of
the gas west of the Rocky Mountains.RAND projects that the economic costs would
exceed $1 trillion.
The third possible attack, a high-altitude detonation of hydrogen bombs that would create a powerful electromagnetic pulse (EMP), would disrupt the communications and electrical infrastructure of the US, the whole of Japan, and South Korea.
Many of the essential systems needed to survive war would be knocked out, as computers are instantly rendered malfunctioning or unusable. Military and communications systems such as radars, antennas, and missiles, government offices, would be put out of use, as would energy sources such as nuclear power stations and transport and communications systems including airports, airplanes, railways, cars and cell phones.
Ironically the ubiquity of high-tech computing gadgets in the US, Japan and South Korea has made them most vulnerable to EMP attacks.
The last and fourth attack would be to order into action a global nuclear strike force of dozens of MIRVed ICBMs - each bearing a thermonuclear warhead on a prefixed target.
The Yongbyon nuclear site has always been a decoy to attract American attention and bring it into negotiations on a peace treaty to formally end the Korean War. Since as far back as the mid-1980, North Korea has assembled 100-300 nuclear warheads in an ultra-clandestine nuclear weapons program. The missiles can be mounted on medium-range missiles designed to be nuclear capable.
A prototype ICBM was assembled by the end of the 1980s. Two prototype ICBMs were test-fired on May 29, 1993, with one splashing down off Honolulu and the other off Guam. The Kim Jong-il administration gave an advance notice to the US government of the long-range missile test. But the American reaction was skeptical.
In April 2001, the Associated Press quoted Navy representative Mark Kirk's "terrifying encounter in 1993 with what seemed possible nuclear attack" from North Korea. He recalled:
It was a no notice, no warning missile launch out of North Korea, and for
the first and only time in my career in the NMJIC [National Military Joint
Intelligence Center], I got to see all of the panoply of the United States
military wake up in a few seconds.
We did not know what kind of missile it was, so the impact area, at the
beginning, was the entire United States, and you thought about what we might be
doing in the next 12 minutes: would we be notifying the president that we had
lost an American city? We were going to know the answer in 12 minutes.
At first it still included the Pacific Coast, then it included
Hawaii.
AP added: "Little was made of the 1993 launch at the time because it wasn't determined until later that it likely flew over Japan and landed in the Pacific Ocean, Kirk said."
It was not until 1998 that the US notified the Japanese government of the flyover of a North Korean long-range missile before splashing down off Hawaii. The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration quietly labeled the 1998 satellite launch a success.
According to a February 12, 2003, AP report, US intelligence had concluded a few years earlier that North Korea has a ballistic missile capable of hitting the western United States and possibly targets farther inland.
Kim Myong Chol is author of a number of books and papers in Korean, Japanese and English on North Korea, including Kim Jong-il's Strategy for Reunification. He has a PhD from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's Academy of Social Sciences and is often called an "unofficial" spokesman of Kim Jong-il and North Korea.

This Ain't Making It Any Easier
Pakistan will not release location of nukes to US
In all fairness to Pakistan, no nation would disclose the location of its nukes to any other country. But then again no other nuclear armed nation is on the edge of falling to suicidal terrorists.
So in the event that Pakistan falls to the taliban, US special forces which are on stand by to secure Pakistan's nukes will not be able to get all of them.
What do you do with a nuclear armed taliban? Bloomberg
Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari said his country isn’t adding to its nuclear arsenal and doesn’t have to disclose the location of its weapons to the U.S.[...]
Asked whether Pakistan would tell U.S. intelligence officials where all its nuclear weapons are located, to allow for a joint strategy to keep them secure, Zardari said Pakistan is a sovereign country.
“Why don’t you do the same with other countries yourself?” Zardari said in the interview taped May 7. “I think this is a sovereignty issue, and we have a right to our own sovereignty.”
Only thing is, Pakistan has been ceding parts of its sovereignty to the taliban. Probably because Pakistan doesn't have enough money to fight the taliban.
U.S. aid has not been enough, Zardari said.[...]
Zardari said the additional aid shouldn’t come with any conditions.
“I think it’s doubting an ally before you go into action together,” the Pakistani leader said. “We should have a result-oriented relationship, where I should be given a timeline and I’ll give you all a timeline, so we can both give each other timelines and meet the timelines on the positive.”
So $11 billion US in aid isn't enough for Pakistan. Maybe it's because most of that aid money has actually gone to the taliban! Zardari dares question our doubt about Pakistan's commitment to fighting the taliban.
Before coming to us demanding money, Zardari should first look to fix the pro taliban ISI and the Pakistan army which would rather fight Hindus than taliban 'muslim friends'.

To Add a Little Urgency to Our Efforts Here
This from the Associated Press (last month):"About 250 thefts of nuclear material were reported around the world this year, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency. IAEA chief Mohammed ElBaradei called the number of thefts 'disturbingly high' and said most of the material is never recovered."
Great.

Phares Says the Three-Letter Word: EMP
On the heels of a boast by an Osamaton blogger (see my post below) that another massive blackout is being planned by OBL's merry pranksters here North America comes an op-ed by Walid Phares at Family Security Matters warning of the danger of an EMP, or electro-magnetic pulse, attack originating in Iran.
For those unfamiliar with EMP-related concerns, Phares provides a link to a useful overview at http://shieldamerica.org/ . Basically, an EMP attack causes its most significant devastation not through blast damage or radiation, but via long-term crippling of the target nation's electrical infrastructure. Detonation of a nuclear device at extremely high altitude over America would create a shockwave knocking out electrical power, communications, transportation, the ability to supply water, food, and heat -- in short, casting this country backwards more than a century in technological time. As Phares observes, the missle threat from Iran is diverse. Theoretically, at least, it could be used to deliver a chemical, biological, or EMP strike as well as a "conventional" nuclear attack against major city or other significant target.
Is The One aware of this form of nuclear weaponry, or has he been made aware of it in the course of his post-election security briefings? Assuming he has, how will he play this hand in his talks with the Ahmadhimmijerker?

Retired Egyptian general slams Hamas' destruction of Egyptian border; warns of dangers of extremist religious regimes

(Click picture to view video)
Hamas is a radical terrorist organization composed of Islamic extremists. Their goal is not merely a Palestinian state living side by side in peace with Israel-- but rather the complete destruction of Israel.
However if the Gaza border with Egypt remains open they are also a threat to Egypt and other countries in the region. They want to overthrow existing governments and replace them with radical Islamist regimes.
Hussam Sweilem is a retired Egyptian general. In this video he explains the very real danger that Hamas poses to everyone in the area.
Interestingly he is not the only one in the Arab world who is starting to realize that the real threats to peace in the area are not due to Israel. Recently it was reported that:
On Tuesday, a senior Kuwaiti analyst was quoted by Reuters as saying that Persian Gulf nations believed Israel would strike at Iran's nuclear facilities rather than allow Teheran to attain offensive nuclear capabilities.Learn more about Gaza, Hamas, and Israel & the Palestinians: Hamas- Meet the New Neighbors.
Sami Alfaraj, president of the Kuwait Center for Strategic Studies, went on to say that if Iran did acquire a nuclear bomb, Gulf states would appeal to Israel, as well as to the United States and Pakistan, to help ensure their security. (Read it all).
