Special Report: Red Fridays

From The Gathering Storm

Wear red on Fridays and send a message to the liberal media and politicians. Here’s why. This was send to me today and retells an incident that happened in an airport recently. The author is unknown and whether it’s true or not – uncertain. But the message still holds true, and the idea of wearing red on Fridays is a good way to show our support for the troops.

“Last week I was in Atlanta, Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.”

“Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camo's, as they began heading to their gate everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.”

“Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal. Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said "hi," the little girl then she asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her. The young soldier, he didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.”

“The mother of the little girl, who said her daughters name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter, Courtney, missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up. When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other
servicemen pulled out a military looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.”

“After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, "I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you." He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying "your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon."”

“The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event unfolded. As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.”

“We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American.”

RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the "silent majority". We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things better for you?" is...We need your support and your prayers. Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.

The Lincoln problem ..when we all know, but can't say

In 1860 after Abraham Lincoln was elected in a three way race as President successor to a paste over the problems, Buchanan Admin,....."My earliest recollection," Woodrow Wilson said many years later, "is of standing at my father's gateway in Augusta, Georgia, when I was 4 years old, and hearing someone pass and say that Mr. Lincoln was elected and there was to be war."

Why?

Lincoln, having repeatedly stood against slavery had also stated the Union was far more important, and that if he could keep the union and keep slavery he would. But yet something (maybe the Cooper Union speech) was a bellweather to many of his true nature and his true cause, revealed in Sept 1862 against the advice of most of his cabinet.

Today we see so many of our politicians struggle to cast the mighty conflict dividing civilizations in economic terms ( if 'they' had job, terrorism would melt away), in political terms (Abbas' agreement with Hamas meet they 'tacitly' recgonize Israel), or in any set of parameters in which this is the modern boogeryman's (the USA's) fault (so as to avoid responsibility for non-denial).

I have said many times that the Iraq campaign was properly entered, if in the silence of a measured room of deicsion, a conversation was held in which everyone there was compelled to answer the question of whether the winning of the REAL WAR entailed destruction of the horrifically failed political mien built by Messrs. Sikes and Picot, and it's replacement by the only force that MIGHT avoid hundreds of millions of deaths, democracy.

I believe THIS CAUSE like's Lincoln's bellweather moral force on slavery, has been sensed by our deadliest enemies.
No WMD
No Saddam
No rape rooms.
Strategic decision, strategic cause, strategic warfighting and policy.
Crusade.
It is our purpose to avoid Huntington, or bring on, on our terms, thru destruction of despotic fascist regimes whose prime method of survival is stoking by religious fervor, racist and cultural hatreds of our way of life, or worse who truly believe their religion has given them god's authority to murder, and call the victims, 'not the innocent'

Did this conversation occur?

Malaysia: Islamic Government Wants To Pay People To Convert

Islam is such an unattractive way of life that Muslims have often had to resort to paying people to convert.

I remember sitting in a park one day and meeting a woman from Ethiopia. I asked what had brought her to the United States, was it the poverty? No, it was the Muslims. She told me of how they were trying to force people to convert, and that they were actually somewhat successful, because they were paying people.

This seemed like an outlandish claim, but I have seen it documented by now, so I believe it. And, here it is again, in Malaysia:

Channel News Asia reports that the Islamist Pan-Malaysia Islamic Party (PAS) wishes to convert indigenous peoples in Kelantan state to Islam, by offering bribes including cash and offers of four wheel drive vehicles.

PAS only has one state, that of Kelantan, under its control. The party wants all of Malaysia to be Islamic.

Their plan, announced by the Kelantan state government on Monday, had been to convert the "Orang Asli", the native peoples who are all that remain of Malaysia's indigenous population before Muslims colonised the region in the 14th century. Traditionally the Orang Asli do not follow the mainstream religions.

The bribes would be paid for by the state to Muslim preachers who married or converted members of the indigenous population, who are traditionally animists, who consult shamans who commune with the spiritual world.

Earlier today, rights activists in Malaysia condemned the plan. S, Arutchelven from the group Voice of the Malaysian People told Agence France Presse: "This is a violation of human rights. It looks like religion is being made a commodity. Indigenous people have their own beliefs and culture. We urge the Kelantan government to stop this programme."

A commissioner with the government's Human Rights Commission of Malaysia, Denison Jayasooria stated: "The utilisation of state resources as a motivation for preachers to convert ... is an abuse of power."

The Wall Street Journal Kicks The Dying New York Times While It's Down

And I say, good frickin' job. It's about time someone in the media tell the truth about the media:

The Times decided to publish anyway, letting Mr. Fratto know about its decision a week ago Wednesday. The Times agreed to delay publishing by a day to give Mr. Fratto a chance to bring the appropriate Treasury official home from overseas. Based on his own discussions with Times reporters and editors, Mr. Fratto says he believed “they had about 80% of the story, but they had about 30% of it wrong.” So the Administration decided that, in the interest of telling a more complete and accurate story, they would declassify a series of talking points about the program. They discussed those with the Times the next day, June 22.

Around the same time, Treasury contacted Journal reporter Glenn Simpson to offer him the same declassified information. Mr. Simpson has been working the terror finance beat for some time, including asking questions about the operations of Swift, and it is a common practice in Washington for government officials to disclose a story that is going to become public anyway to more than one reporter. Our guess is that Treasury also felt Mr. Simpson would write a straighter story than the Times, which was pushing a violation-of-privacy angle; on our reading of the two June 23 stories, he did. ...

We suspect that the Times has tried to use the Journal as its political heatshield precisely because it knows our editors have more credibility on these matters.

As Alexander Bickel wrote, the relationship between government and the press in the free society is an inevitable and essential contest. The government needs a certain amount of secrecy to function, especially on national security, and the press in its watchdog role tries to discover what it can.

The government can’t expect total secrecy, Bickel writes, “but the game similarly calls on the press to consider the responsibilities that its position implies. Not everything is fit to print.” The obligation of the press is to take the government seriously when it makes a request not to publish. Is the motive mainly political? How important are the national security concerns? And how do those concerns balance against the public’s right to know?

The problem with the Times is that millions of Americans no longer believe that its editors would make those calculations in anything close to good faith. We certainly don’t. On issue after issue, it has become clear that the Times believes the U.S. is not really at war, and in any case the Bush Administration lacks the legitimacy to wage it.

More On The Disgusting Decadence Of Mainstream Islam

Indonesia's Vice President praises Islamic prositution:

INDONESIA'S vice-president has said he sees nothing wrong in Arab men paying local women to marry, then divorcing them days or hours later, and suggested the practice - dismissed by critics as legalised prostitution - could boost tourism.

Jusuf Kalla made the off-the-cuff remarks at a travel industry seminar on how to attract more Arab visitors to Indonesia.

Kalla said many Arab tourists travelled to the hill town of Puncak, near Jakarta, to enter into short-term marriage contracts with Indonesian women.[...]

These short-term marriages are called Mu'ta marriages, and they are approved by Islamic law.

This is the mainstream of Indonesian Islam, my friends. The Vice-President said it. He is no marginal voice.

Islam is decadent and immoral.

NIDRA POLLER'S LATEST COLUMN AT ATLAS

BAKED ON THE PREMISES
Nidra Poller
30 June, Paris

Excerpt:

I thought of all those young soldiers in the hot sun and dust of Gaza.

But the French media are only thinking of Palestinian hardship. The only difference between present coverage and the worst of the years 2000-3 is that the novelty has worn off. Every Israel-bashing distortion has been trotted out, but the obsession is muted by a lazy summertime-and-the-living-is-easy tone. As I remarked the other day, Gilad Shalit has lost his hyphen, he’s not French-Israeli, he’s a simple, I’d say a lowdown Israeli soldier, no different from his buddies who blew up the Gaza power station, the ones who bop in and out of Ramallah as if it were their mamma’s kitchen, the ones who are the cause of Palestinian bitterness, the ones whose fault it is that Résistants kidnap soldiers and kill colons. OK, maybe there was a thin trickle of sympathy on Monday for those baby-face boys, but it’s gone now. The helmets are covering the kepelech and masking the innocent faces, we’re back to the stereotypes, the big bad Israeli army. And now they’ve capture political figures! What nerve! According to Le Figaro the whole world is against these Israeli methods (no mention of George W. Bush who approves). Maybe Fatah and Hamas can’t get their act together, but the French media are, as usual, unanimous.

The Résistants who captured the colon (in Jerusalem…but of course they knew he was a colon, it was written all over his face) threatened to kill him unless the Israelis stopped their military operation. So when it turns out he was already dead before the operation began, how do the French media explain that one? Easy. They just don’t mention that insignificant detail. In an article on the Summer Rain operation, Gilles Paris of Le Monde managed to serve up the Gaza Beach libel as if it were the hottest mystery after the virgin birth. Did you know? Seven people were killed on a Gaza beach and Israelis and Palestinians still disagree on who dunnit.

The French media are clucking about the stunning Hamas about-face; the democratically elected Palestinian government has implicitly recognized the existence of __________ by signing this really neat document, the best peace plan yet! But those stubborn Israelis chose to invade Gaza instead of waiting for diplomacy to find the missing soldier. Like they found the missing colon?

The best media trick came from France 2, the home of Charles Enderlin of al-Dura fame. Charles could barely contain his joy in reporting on the intransigence of the Israeli Army he so loves to hate. And someone topped it off with the best mistranslation of the decade: Israeli leaflets dropped on Beit Hanun--famous for its Qassam launch sites--advised residents to stay in their homes because the village was going to be bombarded. When your corner NGO announces the massacre, it will be no surprise to French viewers!

The other day my thoughts were with Israeli soldiers toiling in the dust and the heat, copped up in tanks and airplanes, desperately searching for one precious kidnapped soldier, called up once more to defend their country, while here in the Parisian Diaspora we celebrate the 2nd annual festival of Jewish cultures. Israeli boys are in the tanks, and we are sitting in the courtyard of the 3rd arrondissement City Hall. If I remember correctly, last year’s festival covered yiddishkeit. The theme this year is “Sephardic Mosaic.” A beautiful spacious Arab tent at one end of the courtyard invites visitors to stretch out on silken couches or perch on damask poufs placed around large copper-tray tables. Mint tea and Oriental pastries are served. An Oriental dancer performs at the opposite end of the courtyard. The street in front of the city hall is blocked, decorated with palm trees and mountain laurel, and set out with comfortable deck chairs. It was all so convivial. What is there to not like? Should we cover our festival with black mourning drapes because 18 year-old Eliyahu Asheri z”l was shot in the head? And Corporal Gilad Shalit is in the hands of bloodthirsty jihadis? Isn’t this month-long festival proof of good relations between France and the Jews? Which would you rather for your sons, a tank in Gaza or a pouf in the courtyard?

Storm Track Infiltration: “It’s Jihad or Hit the Road Bub”

From The Gathering Storm

When it came time to write up the premarital agreement between Zakaria Amara and Nada Farooq, Ms. Farooq briefly considered adding a clause that would allow her to ask for a divorce.

She said that Mr. Amara (now accused of being a leader of the alleged terror plot that led to the arrests of 17 Muslim men early this month) had to aspire to take part in jihad. [And] if he ever refuses a clear opportunity to leave for jihad, then i want the choice of divorce," she wrote in one of more than 6,000 Internet postings uncovered by The Globe and Mail.

But this is the part that should make the Canadian community stand up and take notice.

Wives of four of the central figures arrested last month were among the most active on the website, sharing, among other things, their passion for holy war, disgust at virtually every aspect of non-Muslim society and a hatred of Canada. The posts were made on personal blogs belonging to both Mr. Amara and Ms. Farooq, as well as a semi-private forum founded by Ms. Farooq where dozens of teens in the Meadowvale Secondary School area chatted.

That’s it. Spread Islamic hatred to Canadian secondary school children!

The women were bound by the same social, political and ideological aims. They organized "sisters-only" swimming days and held fundraisers for the notorious al-Qaeda-linked Khadr family. With the exception of the occasional Urdu or Arabic word or phrase, their posts are exclusively in English.

And raising money for al-Qaeda? And what were the Canadian authorities doing while these chats were going on? One wonders.

Read it all.

Storm Track Disinformation: Who Speaks for Islam?

From The Gathering Storm

UNC-Chapel Hill sociologist, Charles Kurzman, wrote back in 2001

“If you want the Catholic position on terrorism, ask the Vatican. If you want the Southern Baptist position, refer to the Executive Committee and the resolutions of the annual convention. There may be dissent, as in all faiths. But these offices have the authority to speak on behalf of their religion. Islam has no organized church to speak with such authority. As the world confronts terrorism, no single Muslim or Islamic organization can tell us definitively what Islam says on the subject.”

This is not only a problem for Muslims – who hear a plethora of competing preachings and fatwas - but this confusion of multiple voices aids the Islamists in their strategy of disinformation that causes confusion for non-Muslims as to what Islam is really about and its stand on the war against Islamic terrorism.

The confusion leads – intentionally or unintentionally – to a division of opinion, even strategies and tactics, on how to confront Islamo-terrorism. Let’s face it, 99% of all terrorist acts are done in the name of Islam whether Muslims like or not. This confusion of who speaks for Islam and what Islam is suppose to be in practice, leads to silly debates of which Muslim, muftis, imans, clerics and self proclaimed street preachers should be tolerated in a free society and which should not.

Case in point.

A controversial Muslim cleric from Britain due to speak in Toronto this weekend has told CBC he does not promote hatred. Sheik Abu Yousef Riyadh ul-Haq, scheduled to speak at the Youth Tarbiyah Conference in Scarborough, has drawn fire for sermons his critics allege incite hatred of Jews, Hindus, gays and moderate Muslims.

His response to critics? “"All I would like to say is that the picture portrayed from these quotes that I preach hatred against the Jews, the Christians or the Hindus is totally false," he told CBC.” But then he added this. In an interview broadcast Friday on the CBC Radio program The Current, ul-Haq insists his words have been taken out of context and that he was actually condemning extremists of every religious persuasion who misinterpret their holy books to justify terrorism.

Whao! Hold your horses! Is he saying that terrorism is preached in the Bible, Koran and in the texts of Asian religions? The arrogance of the man! But a perfect example of the loose cannons that are rolling around the sinking ship of Islam.

So what to do about these loose cannons that sow confusion and discord in the non-Muslim world? Let’s get back to Kurzmann.

“In 1924 -- 80 years ago, according to the lunar Islamic calendar -- the newly founded Republic of Turkey abolished the Ottoman caliphate. The Ottoman caliph claimed to be the sole successor to the Messenger Muhammad as religious leader of the Muslims -- caliph, or "khalifa," means "successor" in Arabic. Muslims did not universally accept the caliph's judgment, but the office of the caliphate provided the Islamic world with a symbol of unified leadership. This symbol disappeared in the competing claims to succession, all ultimately dropped, that followed the abolition of the caliphate. Today each Islamic country has a separate religious hierarchy, or even multiple hierarchies, and none is bound to acknowledge the leadership of any other. Mullah Muhammad Omar, until very recently the leading religious official in Afghanistan, competed for Islamic authority with Shaykh Tantawi of Egypt, Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran and other leading scholars."

In my opinion, the non-Muslim world should hope for even encourage the return of the Caliph that way Islam has a face and though Muslims may not, in the words of Kurzmann, “universally accept the caliph's judgment, … the office of the caliphate [would] provide the Islamic world with a symbol of unified leadership.”

Once that is done, the non-Muslim world could point to that unified symbol of leadership and the words it emanates to dispel the confusion Islam and take away on softening-up tactic of the Islamists – disinformation.

Nominee for the Darwin Award

Some comic relief:
Operation removes lightbulb from anus
Thu Jun 29, 7:34 AM ET

MULTAN, Pakistan (Reuters) - Fateh Mohammad, a prison inmate in Pakistan, says he woke up last weekend with a glass lightbulb in his anus.

Wednesday night, doctors brought Mohammad's misery to an end after a one-and-a-half hour operation to remove the object.

"Thanks Allah, now I feel comfort. Today, I had my breakfast. I was just drinking water, nothing else," Mohammad, a grey-beared man in his mid-40s, told Reuters from a hospital bed in the southern central city of Multan.

"We had to take it out intact," said Dr. Farrukh Aftab at Nishtar Hospital. "Had it been broken inside, it would be a very very complicated situation."

Mohammad, who is serving a four-year sentence for making liquor, prohibited for Muslims, said he was shocked when he was first told the cause of his discomfort. He swears he didn't know the bulb was there.

"When I woke up I felt a pain in my lower abdomen, but later in hospital, they told me this," Mohammad said.

"I don't know who did this to me. Police or other prisoners."

The doctor treating Mohammad said he'd never encountered anything like it before, and doubted the felon's story that someone had drugged him and inserted the bulb while he was comatose.

Infidel Babe Of The Week

Rebecca Romijn.

Rebecca Romijn? What are her Infidel credentials, you ask?

Well, I say Rebecca is implicitly an Infidel. If you have to ask, then you would never understand anyway.

Look at that picture, where else could we be treated to such a lovely site but in Dar al-Harb?

And remember, she is an innovator in Burqa-styling, throwing off the restrictions of the traditional portable concentration camp fashion.

Just look at this example of full-body covering. Very modest, Rebecca.

And, the thing is, in the land of the Infidel, we admire people who are willing to give their all to their craft. Check out Rebecca's death-defying posing in the service of the new vogue. I pulled my hamstring just looking at her in that position.

Rebecca Romijn, you definately deserve the title Infidel Babe Of The Week. We commend you for your great body of work.

Islam Research Academy Condemns Suicide Bombings... Well... Kinda

By now we all know the stories about Muslim clerics who say that suicide bombings are in breach with the Quran. Today, we have a new one.

An Islam Research Academy in Egypt has now made - for once and for all - crystal clear that suicide bombers do not act in line with 'Allah's will'. No. Instead of becoming martyrs, suicide bombers go to hell, according to these Islamic scholars.

Good news one might think. Finally the Muslim world is speaking about against Muslim aggression, for instance against innocent Israeli civilians.

Well, no:

However, Israelis should not be happy about this strict ruling. Dr. Ottman was quick to hint that suicide against Israeli targets is allowed.

"Those using suicide bombing against the enemy, the land robbers, and the occupier of nations, are martyrs," he concluded.

Serving Up Hot Pork Links

Yes, it's an Infidel feast of links.

Atlas Shrugs has the story of the UN Oil-For-Food Trial. It is becoming ever more clear just why Saddam was so confident that he was untouchable.

Hey Everybody, Israel is not the only country who has built an "Apartheid" wall to keep the Palestinians the hell out. Egypt has also. Call Amnesty International, quick. Or, just click on this link and see the dread wall. Surely that is a crime against humanity.

Somali Jihadist have claimed nationwide authority. Basically, they are setting up the Taliban in Somalia.

What does CAIR do when terrorists tunnel into Israel and kidnap a young man and then kill him? Why, they defend the terrorists in a press release, of course:

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said in a statement released today: "Mild rebukes for the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure in Gaza will not stop Israeli missiles. The Bush administration should condemn these war crimes and demand that Israel stop using American taxpayer- funded weapons to carry out attacks that will only serve to intensify the humanitarian crisis in Gaza."

Got that? Yeah, I know, we all got it a long time ago, but somehow, the MSM still considers CAIR to be the go-to whenever they need a quote from a "moderate Muslim".

That's like quoting Goebbels when you need a quote from a reasonable German.

Apparently, cows are being abducted by real live space aliens in small California towns.

Don't ever say you aren't kept informed here at IBA.

The G-8 gave Iran a deadline to respond to the offer on the table, and Iran has rejected it. My intestines are a rumbling, and I'm feeling a sense of urgency. There must be another tersely worded letter coming on.

Gotta go.

Erdogan to EU: Limit free speech

Turkish PM Erdogan was visiting the parliamentary assembly of the council of Europe in Strasbourg on Wednesday. There he made this statement:
The violent reaction to the publication of cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad underlines the need to impose limits on free speech.
This is so brilliant it takes a while to sink in.

Mere mortals like you or me would think that those violent reactions would underline the need to impose limits on religion motivated violence. Then again, I am not Erdogan, I am just a lowly blogger.

But dear Recep isn't done yet:
All freedoms have a limit. You cannot have unlimited freedoms, there has never been unlimited freedom of expression in history.
And you are probably a bit of an expert on 'unlimited freedom of expressions', aren't you? Remember Orhan Pamuk?
Erdogan said that a lack of religious and cultural tolerance towards Islam by the west could fuel a rise in extremism and lead indirectly to terrorism.
You mean 'religious and cultural tolerance' like this?
The combination of these trends threatens to turn the west and the Islamic world into adversaries. Terrorism perpetrated in the name of religion will lead to a global crisis.
So, two questions: Who is actually perpetrating that terrorism in the name of religion, and why is the West to blame for those perpetrating it again?
The Turkish prime minister also said that Europe’s Muslim population was becoming increasingly more isolated, as seen in the recent rioting in France, and much more needed to be done to incorporate “new communities”.

“Europe needs to show more affection to the people living in ghettos and integrate them into society.”
Well, dear Recep, that would be so much easier if showed a little 'affection' to the country they live in, earn their money, enjoy their education and services, instead of reserving it exclusively for the world-wide Ummah. It would be so much easier if they would leave our cars and shops alone, if they would harm our filmmakers, writers and opinionmakers with subpoenas only.

But alas, an increasing number of your co-religionists are bent on usurping our little corner of Earth for the greater glory of the Big Black Stone idol, violent or otherwise. Don't you think that explains the somewhat suspicious attitudes of an increasing number of non-muslims in Europe, dear Recep? Not even a little?

Hey Islam, Can You Get Any More Disgusting?

We have often heard it said that Muslims are disgusted by the decadence of the West.

Don't believe it.

What is more disgusting than the fact that many Pakistani Muslims think it is ok to sell their 13 year old daughters into marriage?

Well, how about the fact that, in Pakistan, families will give their daughters hand in marriage when they are as young as one-year old:

We have covered extensively the Pakistani custom of "vani" marriages, where girls are given away in marriage as a form of "compensation", where a male relative has committed a crime. Vani marriage became illegal at the start of last year, along with honour killings. The case which had provoked the law to be changed occurred in 2004, where a three year old girl was given in marriage to a sixty year old man.

We have covered cases of girls as young as one years old, and marriages of girls who have not even been born.

Earlier this month, a case in Sindh province involved two girls aged six and eight, who were given away in vani marriage in exchange for the loss of payment for three buffaloes.

Your Jizyah At Work

The United States taxpayer will have to foot the bill to fix the Palestinian power plant in Gaza. Check this out:

WASHINGTON -- The Palestinian power plant bombed by Israeli forces Tuesday is insured by a US government agency, and US officials say they expect American funds to be used to pay for the damage.

The destruction of the 140-megawatt reactor, the only one in the Gaza Strip, threatens to create a humanitarian disaster because the plant supplies electricity to two-thirds of Gaza's 1.3 million residents and operates pumps that provide water supplies.

But paying a claim on the plant, which was insured for $48 million, could prove problematic for the United States, which cut off funding for all infrastructure projects in the Palestinian territories after the militant group Hamas won legislative elections in January.

Administration officials said the restrictions on working with a Hamas-led government could further complicate the repair of the electric facility, which could take weeks, if not months, to fix because of the escalating violence in Gaza.

The bombing of the plant could become a lasting problem for the Bush administration, which is appealing for an end to the showdown between Israelis and Palestinians in Gaza.

Israeli warplanes hit the power plant two days after Palestinian militants attacked an Israeli Army unit, killing two soldiers and taking another one hostage. Israeli forces responded yesterday by entering the Gaza Strip for the first time since Israel's historic pullout from the territory nine months ago, bombing the plant and three bridges.

The power plant cost about $150 million and took more than five years to build.

Plans for it began in 1999, when two private investors -- the now-defunct Enron Corp. and a Palestinian-born construction mogul, Said Khoury -- laid down the blueprint for making the Palestinian territories less reliant on buying electricity from Israel.

The project faltered when violence broke out in Gaza in 2000 and when Enron collapsed into bankruptcy, but Khoury continued to push forward. His construction company's US subsidiary, Connecticut-based Morganti Group, bought out Enron's stake in the plant.

The US Investment Corporation -- set up in 1971 with US taxpayer funds -- had been supportive of the project from the beginning, arranging the first meeting between investors for the plant, according to the Bloomberg news service.

Few commercial insurance companies insure such projects against political violence, but the US Investment Corporation does so to encourage development in emerging markets, according to Lawrence Spinelli, a spokesman for the Investment Corporation.

The insurance that Morganti purchased covers ``political violence," which includes ``wars, acts of terrorism, things like that," Spinelli said. To be paid for the damage, the company must file a claim, and the Investment Corporation must determine whether the claim is covered by the policy, Spinelli said.

What Was That About Islam Being Monotheistic?

Ladies and Gentlemen, familiarize yourself with the Black Stone of Islam, located at the Kaaba in Mecca:

Come on, admit it, it kind of looks like the "Little Man in the Boat", doesn't it?

The Black Stone (called الحجر الأسود al-Hajar-ul-Aswad in Arabic) is an Islamic holy relic. It is one of the cornerstones of the Kaaba, the ancient stone building towards which all Muslims pray. The Kaaba is located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, where it is surrounded by the enormous Masjid al-Haram, the Grand Mosque.

The Black Stone is comparatively small, being roughly 50 cm (19.7 in.) in diameter. However, it can be recognized instantly by the large silver band that surrounds it.

When pilgrims circle the Kaaba as part of the ritual of the Hajj, many of them try, if possible, to stop and kiss the Black Stone.

The Stone is actually broken into several pieces, damage which occurred when the stone was stolen in 930. Ismaili (Qarmatian) warriors sacked Mecca and carried the Black Stone away. It was returned twenty-two years later. In the process, the Black Stone was cracked. It is now held together by the silver band, which is fastened by silver nails to the Stone.

Significance of the Black Stone

There are various opinions as to the status and meaning of the Black Stone.

Many Muslims regard the Stone as 'just a stone'. When Umar ibn al-Khattab, the second Caliph, came to kiss the stone, he said, in front of all assembled: "No doubt, I know that you are a stone and can neither harm anyone nor benefit anyone. Had I not seen Allah's Messenger kissing you, I would not have kissed you."[1] Many Muslims follow Umar: they pay their respects to the Black Stone in a spirit of trust in Muhammad, not with any belief in the Black Stone itself.
Some say that the stone is best considered as a 'marker', useful in keeping count of the ritual circumambulations one has performed (
tawaf).

Other Muslims are more willing to believe that the Stone itself has some supernatural powers. They believe that it fell from the sky during the time of Adam and Eve, and that it has the power to cleanse worshippers of their sins by absorbing them into itself. They say that the Black Stone was once a pure and dazzling white; it has turned black because of the sins it has absorbed over the years.

Still others believe that the stone can only erase the believer's minor sins. On the Day of Judgement, the Stone will testify before God (Allah) in favor of those who kissed it.

These last could perhaps be regarded as folk beliefs, not necessarily shared by all Muslims. It is unclear how widely they are held.

The Stone was an object of veneration in pre-Islamic days. Early chroniclers say that the Kaaba was rebuilt during Muhammad's youth, and that there was some contention among the Quraysh, Mecca's ruling clan, as to who should have the honor of raising the Black Stone to its place in the new structure. Muhammad is said to have suggested that the Stone be placed on a cloak and that the various clan heads jointly lift the cloak and put the Stone into place. Secular historians see this tale as a later glorification of Muhammad, but agree that it accurately represents the pre-Islamic status of the Black Stone.

The Black Stone's origin

Just as there are various viewpoints regarding the religious significance of the Stone, there are also various opinions as to the history and nature of the Stone.

Muslims say that the Stone was found by Abraham (Ibrahim) and his son Ishmael (Ismail) when they were searching for stones with which to build the Kaaba. They recognized its worth and made it one of the building's cornerstones.

Secular historians point to the history of stone worship, and especially meteorite worship, in pre-Islamic Arabia, and say that it is likely that the Stone is a meteorite. There is no way to test this hypothesis without removing and examining the Stone, which would not be permitted by its guardians

Ain't nothing weird about stone worship.

Billions for Boondoggles

Guest Editorial by Edward Cline:

“Don’t bother to examine a folly -- ask only what it accomplishes.”

So said Ellsworth Toohey to Peter Keating near the end of Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead in a speech in which he explains the method of his plan to rule the world.

I have commented in the past on the folly of Bill Gates spending his billions on fighting various “ills” without bothering to examine their causes. Now Warren Buffett will donate $37 billion to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, or about 85 percent of his estimated worth of $44 billion. Bill Gates himself is worth an estimated $50 billion.

“Now worth $30 billion, the Gates foundation is one of the world’s richest philanthropic organizations,” says a Reuters article. “It has committed millions to fighting diseases such as malaria and tuberculosis in developing countries, and to education and library technology in the United States.”

It is not just the wasted billions that causes the mind to reel. It is also, among other things, the utter futility of the gestures. “Developing countries”? Read “Third World” backwaters that will never develop beyond what they are now: incubators of poverty, starvation, disease, death and tyranny. Their various inhabitants and rulers are as clueless about the political and economic causes of malaria, tuberculosis and poverty as are apparently Gates and Buffett, who have far less excuse for their ignorance.

What is astonishing is that neither Gates nor Buffett grasps the nature of the origin of his wealth, nor apparently has ever bothered to ask himself why there is a difference between the American standard of living and its wealth and the standards of living and the degrees of destitution that are responsible for the diseases they wish to combat and cure. Or, if they have sensed or identified the difference (and given their public statements, there is no evidence they place any importance on the difference), their altruistic premises trump any distinction.

The folly must be examined in order to understand what will and will not be accomplished by pouring billions of dollars into the bottomless pits of the needy around the globe, and by perpetuating the ever-deepening sinkholes of American public education.

Let us first note that charities produce nothing. They are eminently non-productive. The United States is rich because it is productive, because so much created wealth was invested in other productive enterprises, and only a fraction of the produced wealth ever donated to charities. (And we will leave aside for the moment the incalculable wealth confiscated by the U.S., state and other governments, also non-productive entities, dedicated to such boondoggles as Social Security and rebuilding New Orleans.) Perhaps the fortunes Gates will invest in research to cure malaria (God forbid he advocate the application of DDT) and tuberculosis will actually produce the hoped for cures. Fine. That will leave the cured to endure poverty, starvation and other diseases, not to mention the turmoil and anarchy and tyrannical brutality of the countries in which malaria and tuberculosis might be checked.

Let us also note that, in regards to the wealth Gates will donate to the public education system, the students who will be the immediate or direct beneficiaries of that money, for as long as they are hostages of that system, will not emerge brighter students or super achievers. By all the direct evidence of plummeting test scores and the inability of increasing numbers of students and young adults to think, read, do simple math, and write, learning how to use technology or some souped-up library or data system will not turn them into independent individuals capable of emulating Gates’s business success.

What Gates overlooks or is oblivious to is that the education system is committed to turning young people into selfless individuals who defer to arbitrary authority and regard themselves as mere cogs in society, some more adept or skillful than others, tolerated as long as they remain obedient ciphers.

And for as long as Gates and Buffett are lauded as role models of “responsible citizens” and exemplars of sacrifice and “giving back,” any given student will be discouraged from developing a personal, selfish ambition, and never encouraged to ask the question: Give back what, and to whom? This is a more potent consequence of their actions, more potent than any amount of money they may donate. Perhaps the most perilous thing Gates’s folly will accomplish is the further “legitimization” of selflessness as a “noble” virtue.

These students will end up as shortsighted or blind as Gates and Buffett must be in any realm beyond their businesses, and the realm in which they are most blind is the moral foundation of capitalism and freedom. By announcing their intention to squander their wealth in a prolonged orgy of altruism, they betray the very vestiges of the morality that allowed them to succeed in their businesses. Obviously, throughout their entire careers, Gates and Buffett accepted the idea that greed and personal ambition were either evil or irrelevant. It was “practical” to make a profit, but not moral. Ideas? Principles? Free minds? Championing capitalism? No. Apparently, bridge games are the limit of their intellectual efforts.

Their altruist campaign to “do good” by “giving back” is evidence of what could be called moral autism. Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary defines autism as an “absorption in phantasy to the exclusion of reality.” The Oxford Concise Dictionary adds a term that is directly related to altruism in its definition of autism: “Morbid absorption in fantasy,” the term morbid medically indicative of an unhealthy disease combined, in Gates’s case, with an obsession to cure the ills of the world. And altruism is the progenitor of myriad fantasies. It requires leaving reason behind and focusing on ridding the world of an “ill” with no reference to reality.

I am not certain that experts have determined whether clinically defined autism is a consequence of physiological disorders or psychological ones, or a combination of them. But I am certain that moral autism is a consequence of a profound philosophical disorder: the automatic suspension of reason where moral values are in question and a departure from reality, a condition required by altruism.

A medically certified autistic person may not have any control over his condition, but the moral autism of Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and countless individuals, is a matter of choice. If the mark of autism is a “disconnect” from reality in favor of a fantasy in which reason is neither applicable nor welcome, then Gates and Buffett are morally autistic. For them, there is no rational causal relationship between reality and morality. They can be brilliant in business, but become congenital idiots in the realm of morality.

Another observation is that all those who are praising Gates and Buffett are gloating in self-righteous vindication of the altruism they have been promoting all their lives and careers, happy that such enormous wealth will be consumed in altruist programs. What is obscene about this event is the glib sanctimony of Gates and Buffett, and the smug sanctimony of those who approve of the give-away.

It would be interesting to hear the reception these same altruists -- in the news media, in universities, by politicians, in churches -- would give Gates and Buffett if these men announced instead that they planned to devote their billions to educating Americans on the values of reason, capitalism, and liberty, and to rediscovering the America that the Founders intended this country to be -- a land of the free, not a home of the selfless.

Our nation was young when Charles Pinckney, an American minister to Republican France, replied to an official French request for graft, “Millions for defense, but not a cent for tribute.” Altruism has so warped the character of our nation that now the reply is: “Billions for boondoggles, but not a cent for reason.”

Moral autism is a disease that can only be combated and cured by advocating reason and capitalism. A nation that treats it as a superlative normal condition will not know why it is perishing.

Hirsi Ali - Verdonk deal on citizenship

(Following up on Hodja's brief post)

[UPDATE I 06/29/2006] Both Verdonk and the Dutch cabinet are in trouble. Last night the junior coalition partner withdrew support for minister Verdonk. Verdonk may have to resign to save the cabinet.

[UPDATE II 06/29/2006] The Dutch cabinet fell at around 2100 hours local. Never let it be said Hirsi Ali is not a formidable woman. Even in her fall from grace she managed to take an entire government with her.

Monday night the Dutch core cabinet had a long session at PM Balkenende's work appartment to decide whether or not Hirsi Ali would be allowed her Dutch citizenship or no.

Surprise (not): She may. After all, the damage has been done, she's forced out and the Dutch establishment can tie the ends neatly by 'correcting' the injustice visited upon her by the all too rash decision of Rita Verdonk.

Of course the Dutch truly left are now presented with an excellent opportunity to wet their blades and go after Verdonk for real:
Verdonk is expected to send a letter to parlaiment on Tuesday or Wednesday to explain her about-face in Hirsi Ali's case. The reasoning is that under Somali law a person is entitled to use a grandfather's name.

The Minister's letter will be studied closely by MPs who still have not forgiven Verdonk for causing the crisis in the first place.

Left-wing groups will scrutinise it to see if it affords an opportunity for at least 60 other people stripped of their Dutch nationality for giving a false name during the asylum process.
According to RTL television (via Geenstijl, both NL) GroenLinks is out for a motion of distrust, which will probably fail (again!), since the coalition partners still hold a majority.

Yesterday on NOVA(NL) it was revealed that Hirsi Ali had to sign a declaration (NL) blaming herself for the whole embarassing situation and absolving Verdonk from any wrongdoing in order to retain her passport. Curious detail: The text of the declaration was written by Verdonks people at the ministry. Asked whether she had to put her pride aside, signing this declaration, Hirsi Ali said: 'Yes, and that shows I've become truly Dutch.' Ouch. So true, but: Ouch

Tonight there's going to be (yet) another emergency session of parliament on this whole thing. The coalition is pretty confident everything will be smoothed over. We'll see.

Storm Track Disinformation: NYT Complains of US Solider Spying on bin Laden

From The Gathering Storm

OK. This is tongue in cheek. But I bet it comes uncomfortable close to the truth if the New York ‘Terrorist Tipping’ Times trolled for subscriptions. Hat tip to JunkYardBlog.

NY Times Special Report

By B. Arnold

· WAZIRISTAN—An American soldier, clinging to a cliff face littered with broken shale and animal bones in Waziristan, northwest Pakistan, is currently engaging in direct, unwarranted surveillance of Osama bin Laden, confidential sources have revealed to the New York Times.

· The soldier’s conduct raises questions about the Bush administration’s policy of covert surveillance and intelligence gathering in support of his “War on Terror”. Constitutional experts are “troubled” by this and similar unwarranted searches that are designed to gather information on terrorists, but may reveal private information about American citizens instead.

· “If there were an American citizen down there sunbathing in that Waziristan village next door to where bin Laden is conferring with his top lieutenants, then the Defense Department would now be passing around her photos,” said Cass Sunstein, a law professor.

· Mr. bin Laden, who could not be reached for this interview, is a Saudi-born spiritual leader who, some say, was connected with the attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. The attack killed nearly 3000 people, many of them women and minorities. He is currently meeting with twelve lieutenants to discuss a worldwide spiritual initiative set to take place in Jakarta, Addis Ababa, Melbourne, and Houston, Texas on July 11th.

· Observing the heavily guarded meeting from about fifty yards away is Lt. Thomas “Turk” Dobrovsky, of Houston. Crouched in a camouflaged “ghillie suit”, Dobrovsky adjusted a concealed antenna in an effort to record snatches of Arabic conversation in the mud meeting hall below. He is partially concealed by a rock outcropping, the one with the two scraggly bushes, but is awkwardly positioned and unable to defend himself. A burst of AK fire or an RPG from the guards below could kill him easily.

· When contacted by a New York Times reporter, Lt. Dobrovsky became agitated and waved us away, and made a threatening motion by drawing his finger across his throat. In a climate of jingoism whipped up by talk radio and right-wing internet sites, such threats are not unusual. This is not the first time that journalists have been threatened by American soldiers eager to prosecute the War on Terror (see Editorial, “Trigger Happy Psychos who Hate the Free Press and the Constitution”, p.A-19.)

· As the Times reporter filed his story, however, Lieutenant Dobrovsky pled with us not to reveal his position, whispering that he had a wife and child back home that could be destroyed “in a Houston chemical weapons attack” by Mr. bin Laden’s organization. He could not produce a search warrant and did not know whether there were any American citizens in the meeting, but said that if there were, he “hoped they got what’s coming to them.”

· His wife, Helen Dobrovsky, refused to speak with Times reporters when contacted at her workplace, Reliable Carpet Service, at 456 W. Poplar Ave. in Houston. The dark-haired Ms. Dobrovsky (see picture at left) works as a receptionist at the front desk. We contacted her at her home, the only house with a white picket fence on Gladiolus Circle in Conroe, Tx, but she again refused to speak with the Times. Leaning on her green Honda Accord, with the Texas license plate number THX-9509, she directed a stream of obscenities at our reporter, calling him a “miserable traitor”, and a “murdering un-American bastard” who ought to be “thrown in a cell with a bunch of Al Qaeda butchers to see if they really will kill you last, you f—-ing traitor.”

· Lt. Dobrovsky’s daughter was no more forthcoming. When contacted at Houston’s KinderCare pre-school, Haley Dobrovsky, 4, (see picture) refused to address the constitutional issues presented by her father’s surveillance, stating only that her “Daddy is very brave.” Haley, who is blond and carries a distinctive red Hello Kitty backpack, was then whisked away by the pre-school’s unarmed security officer, who asked our reporter to leave.

· Back in Waziristan, a goat wanders through the village near where bin Laden camps. Like bin Laden, the goat is currently unaware that three F-16s have just taken off from Bagram AFB in Afghanistan, in response to an emergency radio call placed by Lt. Dobrovsky, who was angered about Times reporting of his illegal activities. While the Times reporter is safely out of the way, Lt. Dobrovsky remains behind to maintain a laser dot on the hut to guide the bombs to their target, and will likely be killed when the bombs strike.

· If Mr. bin Laden has the New York Times web edition on his RSS feed, however, he will know that he has twelve minutes to finish his meeting, shoot Lt. Dobrovsky, and disappear before the aircraft are within strike range.

· Times correspondents in Houston, Tehran, Pyongyang, and Damascus contributed to this report.

Wait a minute. Wasn’t this in yesterday’s NYT?

Better integration of Muslims by not bothering them with Western values

The Al Guardian, this mouthpiece for Muslim grievances and generally any wrong, evil, or doomed cause, tells us how to be more sensitive:
Turkish Urges Tolerance Toward Muslims
Wednesday June 28, 2006 8:16 PM
By JAN SLIVA Associated Press Writer

STRASBOURG, France (AP) - Turkey's prime minister urged the West on Wednesday to make a concerted effort to lessen tensions with Muslim societies, saying more tolerance is needed to mend a deepening rift with the Islamic world.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said last year's angry protests over cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad reveal a need to discuss limits to free expression in some cases to keep extremists from exploiting growing polarization.

``Islamophobia and xenophobia are gaining ground in the West. In the Muslim world, on the other hand, there is a widening perception that it is besieged and its values are under attack. The combination of these trends threaten to turn the West and the Islamic world into adversaries,'' Erdogan said in a speech to the Council of Europe, the continent's leading human rights body.

``The way we see anti-Semitism as a crime against humanity, we need to see Islamophobia as a crime against humanity,'' he told the council's parliamentary assembly, made up of lawmakers from various European countries.
[...]
``All freedoms have a limit. You cannot have unlimited freedoms,'' Erdogan said. ``We argue freedom of expression can be restricted, and this has to be defined.''

He warned of a possible rise in terrorism if the West ignores cultural differences and does not respect Islamic values.

The UN Budget and UN Reform: Never the Twain Shall Meet

kofi_mullah copy.jpg
Secretary-General Kofi Annan has made a formal request for the spending cap to be lifted and most observers assume that he has done so with the blessing of Secretary Rice who has assured him that the United States will not vote against a resolution to this effect. At a recent news conference Annan said "The cap on the budget will be lifted. There will be no crisis."

No reform
No accountablility

We throw in the towel and open our wallet.

Anal porn.

Why?

To put the current situation into perspective, therefore, the whole dynamic has changed 180 degrees since the UN September Summit where world leaders committed themselves to UN reform. Ten months later the crisis became the spending cap, not the failure to reform. The crisis was not the inability of an international organization dedicated to protecting threats to international peace and security, to declare Iranian nuclear ambitions a threat and to sanction its government. The crisis was not a human rights Commission which had some of the world's worst human rights abusers deciding what counted as a human rights violation, replaced by a Council with the likes of Cuba, China and Saudi Arabia right back on. The crisis wasn't the Oil-for-Food scandal in which billions was stolen from people in need and used to maintain despotism at its worst. The crisis wasn't the sight of UN peacekeepers that raped their wards. The crisis wasn't the failure to stop genocide in Sudan by an institution founded on "never again." The crisis wasn't a UN renovation plan hundreds of millions of dollars more than independent developers thought was necessary to do the job. The crisis wasn't 9,000 different mandates created by the UN haphazardly over decades which had never been reviewed, consolidated, or rationalized.

No, the crisis, said the G-77 UN majority, the Secretary-General and his Deputy Mark Malloch Brown, was the so-called "artificial leverage" of linking the obligation to pay for the corruption and mismanagement to the corruption and mismanagement itself.

There is nothing to talk about

Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood govt of a nascent Palestine, while claiming to obey some truce, wink wink, dirka dirka, funds Qassam deployments and firing into Israel, funds tunnles and kidnappings, and every means possible to destroy Israel since they know that every muslim will know what they are doing.
qassam.jpg
Taqiyyoid dissembling in order to restore that which no man can negotiate away, the waqf Israel sits on.

This is the law governing the land of Palestine in the Islamic Sharia (law) and the same goes for any land the Moslems have conquered by force, because during the times of (Islamic) conquests, the Moslems consecrated these lands to Moslem generations till the Day of Judgement.

Khamenei, giving the lie to every naieve fool in the west, utters the truth about the ways and means of the hojatieh led govt in Iran stating there is nothing to be gained by talking with america.

The differences and similarities are instructive.

Muhammed Schmuhammed

Well, the peaceloving followers of the 'greatest murderer', uhm prophet, Muhammed have done what we all feared they would do: they have killed Eliyahu.
May God be merciful on Eliyahu and may He bless his family.

Remember how the terrorists said that they were going to kill him if Israel wouldn't withdraw from Gaza?
OC Central Command Maj.-Gen. Yair Naveh revealed Thursday morning that the youth had been shot in the head immediately after the kidnapping on Sunday.

Of course we should have expected nothing less from these savages, since they're simply continuing the peaceful tradition of Islam: kill all infidels, especially the Jews. Hopefully this will make the entire world understand that negotiating with them is an illusion. They are murderers, nothing more and nothing less. They should be treated as such.

As my blogmother Alexandra von Maltzan just wrote:
Nearly 40 years of pin-point targeted response to Arab rabid hostilities has lead to this perverse situation where the West pays the Palestinian officials, which is synonymous with the term 'terrorists', billions of Dollars so that they can keep spitting into Israel's face.

End this charade now and break up the evil. Stop worrying about public opinion in the West - it's a no-win effort anyway. Kill the cancer now, once and for all.

In the meantime Israel is doing what is must do: it has arrested Hamas leaders. A few Hamas government ministers have been arrested as well as Hamas members of Parliament. My advice: put them all in jail and don't let them out ever again. They are enemies of the state of Israel, treat them as such.

Some of those female prisoners

As the Palestinian Arabs claim that they want to trade information about the Israelis kidnapped in return for Israel releasing Palestinian Arab female prisoners, it is worthwhile to remember exactly why they are in prison to begin with.

Ahlam Tamimi, who drove the suicide bomber to the Sbarro's restaurant attack killing 15, including 11 children.

Amana Muna, who lured a 16-year old Israeli boy over the Internet to Ramallah where he was ambushed and killed.

Yusra Abdu, convicted of planning a suicide attack.

Wafa al-Bis, who tried to blow up the Israeli hospital that was treating her. Details here:

Belgium's Immigrant Crime Wave

Liege police find bodies of missing stepsisters

The bodies of two missing step-sisters have been found.

The first body, which is thought to have been found under a sewer cap next to a railway line near Rue Vivegnis station, was confirmed as that of seven-year-old Stacy, who disappeared along with her 10-year-old stepsister, Nathalie, during a street party in Liège on the night of 9 June.

Police continued their search in the vicinity and a second body was found at around 3pm, which police later confirmed as being Nathalie's.

The chief suspect in the abduction case of the two girls, Abdallah Ait Oud, is currently in police custody awaiting a decision from the criminal court.

A middle-aged man beaten to death on a bus. Two small girls murdered. This is the capital of Europe? Where is the anger? Where is the outrage? Where is the simple animal desire for self-preservation?

Why isn't Beligium echoing with a million screams?

Storm Track Disinformation: There They Go Again!

From The Gathering Storm

One of the most famous lines of Ronald Reagan when chastising a reporter at a press conference was ‘Now there you go again.” Well, the the 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is at it gain decrying Western ‘Islamophobia’. The OIC blamed anti-Muslim sentiment on “the rising dominance of the extremist right wing in Europe”.

I wonder where they got that idea. Could it have something to do with this?

2002

* October 19: A car bomb explodes outside a McDonald's Corp. restaurant in Moscow, killing one person and wounding five.
* October 23: Moscow theater hostage crisis begins; 120 hostages and 40 terrorists killed in rescue three days later.
* December 27: The truck bombing of the Chechen parliament in Grozny kills 83 people.

2003

* May 12: A truck bomb attack on a government building in the Chechen town of Znamenskoye kills 59.
* May 14: As many as 16 die in a suicide bombing at a religious festival in southeastern Chechnya.
* July 5: 15 people die and 40 are injured in bomb attacks at a rock festival in Moscow.
* August 1: An explosion at the Russian hospital in Mozdok in North Ossetia kills at least 50 people and injures 76.
* September 3: A bomb blast on a passenger train near Kislovodsk in southern Russia kills seven people and injures 90.
* December 5: Suicide bombers kill at least 46 people in an attack on a train in southern Russia
* December 9: A blast in the center of Moscow kills six people and wounds at least 11.

2004

* February 6: Bomb on Moscow Metro kills 41.
* March 11: Coordinated bombing of commuter trains in Madrid, Spain, kills 191 people and injures more than 1,500.
* August 24: Russian airplane bombings kill 90.
* August 31: A blast near a subway station entrance in northern Moscow, caused by a suicide bomber, kills 10 people and injures 33.
* September 1 – 3: Beslan school hostage crisis in North Ossetia, Russia, results in 344 dead.

2005

* July 7: 7 July 2005 London bombings – Bombs explode on one double-decker bus and three London Underground trains, killing 56 people and injuring over 700, occurring on the first day of the 31st G8 Conference. The attacks are believed by many to be the first suicide bombings in Western Europe.
* July 21: 21 July 2005 London bombings - Small explosions in three London Underground stations and one double-decker bus. This was pronounced as a "major incident" rather than an attack, and only minor injuries were reported. These 4 bombs were designed to cause as much damage as the 7 July 2005 London bombings, but the explosives had deteriorated and failed to detonate.
* October 13: A large group of Chechen rebels launched coordinated attacks on Russian federal buildings, local police stations, and the airport in Nalchik, Kabardino-Balkaria. At least 137 people, including 92 rebels, were killed.

The OIC chief described a “pathological fear” of Islam caused by “cases of total ignorance of Islam and its teachings” in Western public opinion stemming from rivalries between Christians and Muslims that have existed almost since the first contacts between the two religions in the seventh century.

And those contacts were bloody and violent as Islam expanded through the use of the sword. And they wonder why we have a phobia over Islam.

Enemy Mine: Islamic Humor - Have You Heard This One?

From The Gathering Storm

Islamic humor seems a contradiction in terms. Case in point was the uproar in the Islamic world over the Mohammed cartoons. Muslims don’t seem to have any kind of a sense of humor – up until now.

What’s billed as the ‘world’s only female Muslim comic’ has been making news in Britain. Shazia Mirza, Birmingham-born Muslim arrives on stage wearing the traditional in recognizable hijab dress and begins with the deadpan remark, "My name is Shazia Mirza. At least, that's what it says on my pilot's license." In 2003, she was listed in The Observer as one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy.

Mirza believes her act helps break down cultural barriers and she may be right. For humor is a way fro many ethnic groups to make others comfortable by making fun of themselves and in a way, educate others about their beliefs and customs. She says, “Jews make jokes about themselves, so do Christians and Catholics, why can't Muslims?”

Some examples.

  • "We're not all fanatics. I tell audiences how they can distinguish me from Muslim terrorists: they have bigger moustaches than I do."
  • "Anyone with a moustache is now a target," she says, poking fun at strained Anglo-Muslim relations. "My mum's been attacked."
  • About the male gaze: "I was walking past this building site in Mecca when a group of Muslim builders shouted, 'Show us your . . . face.' "
  • About arranged marriages: "My friend Julie says, 'How can you sleep with someone you don't know?' -- but she does it all the time."
  • During a show two years ago, three men jumped onstage and attacked Mirza after she recounted the time in Mecca when a man touched her inappropriately: "I felt a hand on my bottom. I ignored it. I thought, 'I'm in Mecca. It must be the hand of God.' "
  • She describes a Muslim women’s swimming session at her local swimming pool in East London in revelatory detail. ‘They all swim in one direction – towards Mecca.”

When asked her technique for handling hecklers she responded, “I ask them if they've heard of a fattwah and then they usually freeze!”

Could Mirza bee a sign of Muslim moderation, that often spoke about but seldom seen creature in the Western world? Perhaps. But then contrast her art with that of musician Aki Nawaz. Two directors at his record label had threatened to resign if he released a new album describing suicide bombers and the West's immorality entitled "All is War (The Benefits of G-Had)". On his band's Web site (www.fun-da-mental.co.uk), All is War is described as "13 tracks of provocation and law breaking".

  • Of the track "786 All is War", Nawaz says: "Since 9/11 it (the United States) has displayed all the evidence necessary to find it guilty of genocide and mass murder".
  • In "Che Bin" he compares al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden to Ernesto "Che" Guevara, the Cuban revolutionary leader.
  • In an extract from "Cookbook DIY" quoted in a British paper, he includes the lines: "I'm strapped up cross my chest bomb belt attached/Deeply satisfied with the plan I hatched".

The old saying goes, “you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar”. Muslim artists should take that to heart.

That Muslim constitution

Pastorius already posted about this bit of good news on LGF here:
A Muslim constitution in Europe.

Islamists in Europe are working on a special legislation for muslims, that will be above national legislation. The initiative comes from the Fatwa-council for Europe, who claims that a “constitution for European muslims” is on its way. The Fatwa-council has close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood organization. It’s spokesman is Tariq Ramadan, who among many westerners has a reputation of representing a more liberal european Islam.
This sounded a bit too outlandish to me, but a google search turned up this bit from Islamonline.net:
"The document is like a constitution Muslims in Europe are expected to abide by as it outlines the basis for inter-Muslim relations as well as the relations between Muslims and their European societies," he added.

Al-Banani asserted that the charter, drafted in French, had gone thorough juristic, linguistic, cultural and legal reviews and revisions.

He said the document would be translated into all European languages as well as Arabic.

The charter tackles the fundamentals of Islam, the Muslim presence in Europe, the relations between Muslims and their European societies and Muslims' political and cultural contributions to their communities based on the principle of citizenship.
The 'Muslim constitution' is drawn up by the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe (FIOE) an orgaization who's stated goal is
to maintain the Muslim presence in Europe and to enhance and develop that presence so that Islam is properly and accurately introduced.
The FIOE works closely with the European Council for Fatwa and Research, an organisation headed by Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, of Muslim Brotherhood fame, and with Milli Görüs, a Turkish islamist organisation infamous (in the Netherlands) for financing the building of the Wester Mosque and considered a menace to society in Germany.

All of these have at various times expressed the desire to introduce Shariah in Europe. And with the publication of this 'constitution' they may well be ready to make the first significant step. It effectively withdraws European muslims from under national legislation (in their own minds at least) and seems to be specifically aimed to put European muslims on a collision course with various national governments.

Evidently the Brotherhood seems to think they have the upper hand right now, else they wouldn't make a move as bold as this. It is a slap in the face of every EU member government having outside forces draw up a 'constitution' for what at least nominally are EU member nationals.

Of course it remains to be seen what is actually in the document. But it all seems to fit nicely with The Program drawn up by the Brotherhood. European governments would be well advised to take note and act decisively when this document is published. If we allow foreign shores (c.q. the Muslim Brotherhood) to formally dictate the law over (part of) our citizens we will be in deep doodoo. This is serious, people. This goes waaay beyond 'diversity' and 'integration'. This is a direct challenge to national authority and it must be met.

News from the Mullah-loving nutroots world

The founder and chief moonbat of the "people-powered" New New Left (same America-hating fifth-column wannabe Stalins as the Old New Left, and for that matter as the Old Left - just with some mad HTML skillz) has been coming in for some criticism lately. Why, some of his comrades have even called him a "fascist."

Meanwhile, over at DailyKotz, Don Markos himself writes:

The netroots conspiracy

It all started quietly enough, with Jerome deciding to stick with the consulting biz and work for his favorite candidate in the race, Mark Warner. But the relationship was blown wide open in Vegas as Warner made a huge splash. People tried to imply all sorts of quid pro quos between me and Jerome and the Warner operation, but they were missing the real conspiracy all along.

Because under the radar, things have been moving nicely according to plan.

Bill Richardson hired great-guy Joaquin Guerra, an old friend, and made a last-minute decision to hit YearlyKos. That earned my praise.

Wes Clark hit YearlyKos too and has been an avid netroots denizen the past couple of years. I have had corresponded on and off with Wes Jr. over the past few years, and greatly respect the whole Clark family. Cue the praise.

John Edwards rolled out a community scoop site built by Rusty (an old friend, business partner of mine and Jerome who literally built Scoop) and does podcastings that MoveOn's Zack Exley, another friend, loves. Not to mention, Elizabeth Edwards is rumored to be a heavy participant on this site under a pseudonym. And one of my best friends inside the union movement is a HUGE Edwards backer. Praise.

Hillary Clinton hired two friends of mine, bloggers Jesse Berney (formerly of the DNC blog) and Peter Daou (formerly of the Kerry campaign and the Daou Report on Salon). Praise?

Evan Bayh has Chris Smith who I met during the book tour and seemed like a really cool guy. And his operation is aggressively blogging and wooing bloggers.

And suddenly, foot soldiers in the people-powered movement have infiltrated most of the top campaigns, exposing our real goal to all.

It's not to try and win my "endorsement". As I've said before, you are all thinking people and can make up your own minds on who to vote for. You don't need me to tell you. And you wouldn't let me (which is what's so cool about this joint).

The reality is that we have conspired to have people [read: friends of me! me me me me me!] help power the process to pick the next president.

Imagine that.

Yes, imagine that, Kossie. Friends of yours get hired, and you roll on the praise wagon. You get to talk with Wes Clark's son, and oingo boingo, his dad gets a lovely little endorsement. Politicians' wives comment on your blog under pseudonyms, and you're just tickled silly! You meet other bloggers who blog blogs and mention you, and you fairly piss yourself with admiration. What cool, cool people they all are. And you know them! People! All power to the...Kos People!

In case you failed to notice, it's all just the same old, same old politico circle-jerk. Only you're in the middle. Which makes you...

Cancel that image.

Important thing is you know and approve of these people. Unlike all those non-people who might be out there working and voting for - shudder - Republican candidates.

The joke about the Kossack Left and all the other tools is that it really doesn't matter, because they'll all shut up and vote for whichever candidate gets the nomination. Because he or Hillary will not be Republican. And that, when push comes to shove, is all that counts.

French Unions declare: “Firefighters are not cannon fodder”

An exhilirating press conference in France last week, as the main unions representing french firefighters and police officers demand more support from the government in the undeclared colonial war raging in France.

[translated, with difficulty, from a French television station's website; clarifications, or corrections if they are needed, are welcome]

June 23 2006

"Firefighters are not cannon fodder"

Vehicles shattered, firefighters targeted by showers of projectiles; firefighting troops must increasingly face attacks while responding in certain quarters. A situation denounced Friday during a press conference by a union of firefighters and a union of policemen.

"It began with verbal assaults. Later, they attacked material things. Today, it is the men who are targeted." These proposals from Jean-Louis Ségura, departmental president of the national union of professional firefigthers (SNSPP)-CFTC, reveal the malaise, while three police officers and two firefighters were wounded during collisions with a group of 50 to 100 individuals in the Grande-Borne quarter at Grigny at the beginning of the month. And at Viry-Châtillon, during a response to an accident on June 5, the firefighters' vehicles were subject to a stoning from about thirty hooded persons, according to the SNSPP. They were later stoned while inside the vehicle. The first-aider who was treating the victim of the accident, a slightly wounded child, was struck in the head.

Enough is enough: "...."

Muslims and lefties celebration of the day of the London bombings

A real family day at Islam Expo july the 7th with Glorious Quran Recital - wonder if there aren't 52 UK families remebering this day in another way than 'family fun'? Maybe a lot of english would like to reverse the name of the exhibition?
Found on Politically Incorrect in Deutschland, who also has a link to the hædersgæsterne (guests of honour), who all will come to deny that not all muslims are terrorists, but almost all terrorists are muslims.
English comments here.

Islam porn

Readers of blogs are maybe unaware of the fact, that behind the blog, the webmaster has different possibilities besides maintaining the blog. He/she can edit, change or delete subjects. Also there are possibilities to check statistics and so forth. You can also see which search terms people used to find your blog for example by google etc.
On my blog Hodjas blog I noticed that almost every day some readers got there by the way of an "Islam porn" search or "Islam sex" and so on. As I do not have much sex besides one or two burkha clad halfnaked women, I decided to satisfy my readers, also, as you might know most surfers for porn are from muslim countries, if they don't think it is good enough they can go to Iraq:

Why do they come to un-godly Denmark for porn - maybe because they think we live this way:

Bu I'm sorry to disappoint them - things are more like this in the west:

And that is not so coranic :-)
