McCain :"I think we are in a war against Islamic extremism, and I think that war is worldwide"

mccain_oreilly.jpg McCain on Oreilly.
No matter what other weaknesses we perceive....No drilling in ANWR, climate change believer etc,. that is a winner...but it is ONLY the recognition of what IS.

Once again, as in 2004, this trumps anything the democrats have to say, and in fact is in direct opposition to the frail, naive claim that our war is against Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

One of McCain's few good points, as far as I'm concerned.

Bush knows and has described our war even more clearly than that.

But, he's a failure at fighting the war.

I think McCain would be a poor Presidnt, but he could surprise me.

For that matter, so could Barack Obama.

Bush is the responsible person for the banning of the word 'jihadis' .. something happened to the man who made the speech on 9/20/01.

He is GONE.

The only surprise from Obama would be another state coming into existence like that of Iran in 1979, like Egypt or Pakistan, OR IRAQ

EPA,
You said,

"but it is ONLY the recognition of what IS."

What else is there?

Are you referring to "what is to come" or "what was"?

To me "what IS" (the Islamic threat) is all that matters.

Can you please explain?

Just that we ARE in a war. And that the simplest of observations dictates this conclusion, yet it is a battle to have the masses find themselves agreeing the sky is blue.

Especially when we have one party and half the nation arguing its about a few guys in a cave near Waziristan.

If McCain can see this, and ACT THE PART it will be important. The public must be convinced, and must be brought to national resolve. The first part of this is admitting the state of things.

Which is, in a worldwide religious war, it doesn't matter where the bad guys are who are making war on YOU, it's still the same single war.
