Everyone Loves Allah

In this video, we get to see the petulant god Allah in all his gory ... I mean, glory. (Sorry about that.)

This is absolutely brilliant. My hats off to this guy.

Ingmar Bergman wishes he had created this extraordinary piece of cinema, depicting the Allah, the creation of man, and the co-eternal word of god.

Oh yeah, and then there's Satan. But, never mind that.

We were talking about Allah.

Oh, and by the way, the narrator chick has a very sexy voice, doesn't she?

Thanks to new IBA contributor Kevin for letting me know there's a sequel:

Allah the Second

Yep, and I agree with the dude. His point makes sense from a theological perspective.

I wonder how many Church leaders would be willing to stand up and say as much.

Pastorius, and Kevin,

I have to hand it to Venom fang x on this one. Not enough people are willing to openly criticize Islam.

That said, much of what he has said over the years is just ridiculous. Youtube user Thunderfoot has done a good debunking some of his creationist nonsense.

Damien,
Interesting. Thanks. I wasn't aware of his videos on Creationism.

And, I'm not going to bother watching them either.

And, as for him being an asshole, well, that doesn't surprise me. I certainly can not criticize anyone for being an asshole, can I?

:)

With all due respect (and there's not much) - VenomFangX (or as I like to call him - venomFAGx) is an obsessed lunatic.
he's criticism of islam comes only from him being a fanatic of another religion. And as such, he lacks the ability to be rational, when it comes to religion in general.
There's enough good and rational criticism of islam. we don't need this asshole and his nonsence...

Alex,
I understand what you mean. I know people like that.

That being said, do you find any disagreement with the points he makes in the two videos?

Pastorius said...

Hi Alex,
I don't see his argument as being solely that Islam is wrong because Christianity says it is.

I see his argument as being two-fold,

1) islam is patently absurd, and can be likened to the ravings of a madman,

and

2) IF YOU BELIEVE THE BIBLE (and there's nothing wrong with believing it, if you don't try to force other people to believe), then Islam is wrong because IT IS NOT CONSISTENT WITH THE BIBLE.

How about if I make this argument:

Islam is wrong because it stands traditional morality on it's head. For instance, traditional morality argues that we ought to help the weak. Islam says the spoils go to the victor, and that the victor is determined by war, and that the victor can take women as booty, and men as slaves.

If I make that argument, am I being bigoted? I don't think so, and yet, the "traditional morality" I am arguing from uses the Bible as it's reference.

Do you see what I mean?

Here's the way I see the Bible (for the record), when man fell (according to the story in Genesis), God had two choices,

1) wipe the world out and start over

Or

2) make a convenant with man that he could be reconciled to God through his free will.

God chose the second.

So, to me the FIRST PRINCIPLE OF THE BIBLE IS THAT GOD BELIEVES THAT MAN'S FREE WILL IS PREEMINENT.

Indeed, as a Christian, I believe that God was willing to sacrifice His own Son to die FOR MAN'S FREE WILL.

I know that is not how you have heard the story before, but that is the point IN IT'S ESSENCE. Man has free will. God could take it away from us, but he chooses to allow us to find him through our free will, rather than making us automatons.

I know this is all silly stuff to an atheist. And, that is fine. I think you are smart enough to know that atheism is silly stuff to a believer in God.

That does not mean I think you are stupid, or that I want to force you to believe what I believe, or even that I think you are going to hell. I simply do not.

Do me a favor and don't think all Christians are idiots, and I'll do you a favor, and I won't think all atheists are idiots.

All this being said, I am not at all surprised that Venom Fang X is foolish on the subject of Creationism, and that is sad and embarrassing to me as a Christian. However, I think his points on Islam are valid. It is not invalid to argue from the Bible that Islam is evil.

The last thing I want is for this conversation of ours to turn into an "theis-atheist" debate :) so I won't indulge myself by getting into it... :)
I just wanted to say, that islam is evil on EVERY scale, be that your christian values, or my secular values.
The thing is that an argument from the bible Islam is wrong because IT IS NOT CONSISTENT WITH THE BIBLE is very similar to the muslim argument, that the koran is the word of god, and the bible is blasphemous and wrong...
So in the end it's your word against a muslim's word.
But i say that ACTIONS speak louder then words. And if you only judge islam by muslims' actions - you can draw the obvious conclusions about islam and it's followers.

P.S.
off toppic.
speaking of words: the word verification for this post is "LIESS". I lol'd :)

Pastorius said...

Hi Alex,
That's funny about the word verification.

I think the only argument against Islam which does not emanate from one paradigm saying that another paradigm is wrong is the one of intellectual power. Islam is destructive to intellectual progress, while Western Civilization fosters intellectual progress.

But, that is an argument from Power, and as such, it is a pragmatic argument. I'm not sure that's a good direction to go either.

Pragmatism would say it's probably better to kill those who are weak, and then we're right back agreeing with Muslims and Nazis.

I get your point though and I do appreciate it.

:)
