Sanctioning Israel would just make Israel, Russia, and China the bestest of friends. That is certainly not in the interest of U.S. security, but then again, to quote a friend: "The reason why I’m a “recovering Democrat” is that I now realize that the Democrats are concerned with symbols, not the real world. You can bombard them with the truth. They don’t care. You can slam them on the head with all the jobs statistics you want. They don’t care. The symbol trumps everything. When they get a symbol in their heads, they are totally impervious to reason."
