Obama Says He Saw The Rolling Stones At "The House of Bluesiness"

Too funny.

For those of you who don't follow the music scene, the Stones don't play at small clubs. And besides, the club is called the House of Blues, not the House of Bluesiness.

Though they really ought to think about changing their name, you know, to keep up with that hepcat, Obama.

From Ace of Spades:

Obama's to Appear on American Idol

Insiders tell me that during the interview, Idol host Ryan Seacrest asked President Obama to name his favorite member of the Rolling Stones. The President responded thusly:

OBAMA: You know, uh, I thought that, uh, you know, the truth is that a lot of the Beatles I liked, too, uh, but I did not become a Rolling Stones fan until I moved to Chicago. Because I, uh, you know, I was growing up, uh, in Hawaii, and so I ended up actually being a Beach Boys fan. But when I moved to Chicago, uh, I was living close to what was then the House of Bluesiness (sic).

Seacrest: Right.

OBAMA: And went to a couple concerts and just fell in love. And the nice thing about the Rolling Stones it's real blue-collar music.

Smirk. Snort. Chortle.

Didn't the Stones play venues like the Fillmore East early on?

Speaking of the Fillmore (west, that is), you will NEVER believe who I was told bought it in I think it was about 1979-1980. (No, I don't mean Paul Rat. Email me if you want the story.)

Oh, where to start?

The First House of Blues(iness) opened in 1992 in Cambridge Massachusets. There are now 12 House of Blues(iness) though the original has since closed it's doors.

The House of Blues(iness) Chicago opened in 1996. By then Obama was well on his way to categorically ignoring what Rev. Wright was saying in his First Church of White Hate.

So I wonder if Michelle was going along to those Stones concerts at the Chicago House of Blues(iness) in 1996?

As always, a little snooping around shows Obama to be full of shit.

As for Fillmore East, the Stones played there, the Dead and of course The Allman Brothers (my all time favorite album bar none Allman Brothers at Fillmore East).

Incidentally, the ORIGINAL Fillmore (neither East nor West) and the House of Blues Franchise are now both owned/operated by Live Nation (I think).

But RRA you will be getting the email for full info on West shortly.

I'll bet you anything Obama saw a Stones cover band and thought it was the real Rolling Stones.

And, he probably saw them at some club other than the House of Bluesiness.

In fact, maybe he saw the Blues Brothers and thought Belushi looked like Bun E. Carlos.

Or, something like that.

Revere, you're not talking about The Saint Club, are you? That was Fillmore East in New York. Paul Rat did own West for a bit. Live Nation now operates it (West) as well.

I think the Stones were playing at that summer camp Dachenhausen or something when his grandfather saw them.

He said his favorite song was 'Fresh Air' sung on top of the der fuhrerbunker

This guy is the best at believing his own totally screwed up stories since NIXON.
