Wilders Publications Putting Warning Label on Copies of U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence

© Wilder Publications 2008

This book is a product of its time and does
not reflect the same values as it would if it were written today. Parents might
wish to discuss with their children how views on race, gender, sexuality,
ethnicity, and interpersonal relations have changed since this book was written
before allowing them to read this classic work.

(it might also interest you to note I was against the PMRC and warning labels on music as well, not that that has anything to do with this -- MR)

They are right.
I am rapidly concluding that the 'political class' is no longer able to discern right from wrong, and thus to too many of those who publish and educate and govern it no longer reflects anything but deeply flawed ethics.

Sort of like Muhammad marrying a 9 year old at the time.

BAD THINGS ARE COMING.

It is not an accident that such views make their appearance at a time the nation is more divided and polarized than at any time since 1860.

No, Epa, he married her when she was a hot six year old. He had sex with her when she was nine, ... because he is a man of convictions, ... so he waited till she was nine to have sex with her. This is what they honor!!!

Well, technically, if you count "thighing", he took sexual avantage of her starting when she was six. And since he's allegedly the "perfect man" he thereby sanctioned child sex abuse for all time.

Quite possibly the main reason Muslims have this hair-trigger reaction of intimidation and violence to any criticism of Mo' is that unless they are totally clueless ignoramuses they know what a slime he was and they don't want to be confronted with it.

Christians being offended by cheap shots at Jesus are secure in the knowledge that they are defending a good person.

But when you have to defend a murdering, thieving rapist the decibel level of the cognitive dissonance must be high enough to make dogs scream.

What does it take for a Westerner to make excuses for Islam but put a warning label on the U.S. Constitution and DOI? Besides evasion, ignorance, cowardice, malice, craven approval-seeking, and the taking of PC, MC, and the politics of victimization to unheard of levels? Or does that about cover the waterfront?

guys we lost the thread here.. my point is that the constitution's timeliness, relevance and importance are being trivialized and locked away as dangerous in the same way some people defend Muhammad (and others) marrying young children, .. accepted at the time but a heinous action now.

The constitution represents the best effort of man YET at defining how a people can rule themselves, the 3/5ths rule and other negatives issues not withstanding.

It was a stupendous advance, set of rules, and recognized the underlying truths about humans. We are not just weak but terribly weak, and that weakness should be used to balance one section of govt against another, and limit the ways that weakness can affect the voters.

For a publisher to warn that this is not what it would be now, and warn of its lack of current 'value' should generate a debate of WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA all right, but not the debate they the publisher expects.

Were the US Constitution written in today's political climate, the Founders would be on the "Most Wanted" list and shot on sight. We are a pathetic shadow of a once great nation. Where the hell are the great leaders of freedom/s for our time?

Epa,

I have always argued that the line in the DOI, that we hold these truths to be self-evident, ... that all "men" are created equal ... was what set the ball rolling for equality for all. It is the greatest sentence ever.

My greatgrandmothers had no rights. They could not own property, ... in one very old will my grandmother is given over to her eldest son along with all my grandfather's property and a handful of slaves. This one grandmother had, I think it was, eight living children at the time. She probably lost some in childbirth. Most of grandmothers had at least ten children, others more. I imagine their lives were not very happy and very arduous.

It would take another 200 years before women even were given the right to vote, 50 years after black men, .... but my point is, that statement was what paved the way for equality for all. I can definitely appreciate its relevance and importance. It is timeless.

I am scared to see this anti-American encroachment in many aspects of education and the legal world. There are definitely forces of evil at work in the world today that anyone would attempt to marginalize these very great documents. My blood boils red, white and blue.
