The bomb went off in the lot between the Islamic Society and Back Bay Grill around 8:00 PM Tuesday night. Portland Police say Islamic elders came forward to tell them that a 13 year old from the Society was experimenting and was responsible for the bomb. Another bomb was also found undetinated [sic].... Police say it's unclear if charges will be filed against the teenagers.Just a young Muslim at a mosque experimenting with a bomb. In Maine. What's to be concerned about? It isn't as if mosques have ever been centers of violence elsewhere, right?

The Portland Police Department is investigating a small explosion in the Bayside neighborhood.
Officers responded to Portland Street around 8:00 o'clock on Tuesday night after a homemade chemical bomb went off near the Islamic Society of Portland and the Back Bay Grill. Police then found a second device underneath a vehicle that was parked nearby, but they were able to disable it before it exploded. Police say the homemade bombs were chemicals in a plastic bottle. Portland City Hall Bomb Scare, 9/12/10
There was a suspicious suitcase in front of Portland's City Hall. Portland City Police blocked off all intersections leading into the area between 9:30 and 10:30 AM.
Anyone else notice the timing of the bomb scare at the Portland City Hall coincides with the denial of permit to the mosque muscling in where zoning issue prohibit it and the end of Ramadan?
Begs the question - who is the owner of the vehicle under which the second bomb was found. Could it belong to a zoning official?
Recall also: bus heading from Bangor, Maine to New York City with stops in Portland, Portsmouth and Boston along the way. "BOMB ON BOARD" "Two SWAT teams and the FBI were called to the scene. . .sources tell WBZ that the man is from Africa, does not speak English and did not understand what the police officers were saying. . .Sources tell WBZ that the man is in America on asylum, and at this point is not facing any charges.
Anyone ever follow up whether the suspect boarded the bus in Portland and whether this African ever attended any mosque in the Portland area?
