Metro Transit Authority (New York City) Turn Section of NYC's Grand Central Terminal Into A Giant Mosque On Yom Kippur

From Reliapundit, at the Astute Bloggers:

YUP.

TO GET TO MY EREV YOM KIPPUR DINNER I HAD TO TAKE A NY/CT/NJ MTA METRO-NORTH TRAIN FROM GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL.

AND WHAT DO I HAVE TO WALK THROUGH?

I HUGE PAVILION OF MOSQUES AND MINARETS AND PEOPLE DRESSED AS TURKS AND TURKISH MUSIC AND BANNER CELEBRATING TURKEY AND THE KORAN.

ON YOM KIPPUR OF ALL DATES.

WHO IN THE MTA THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD TIME FOR THIS?

Go read the whole thing at Astute Bloggers.

It's the NYC Turkish Days. It's at todayszaman.com, just click button 5 on the photo gallery and there it is, photos of "colorful" Ottoman sultans in robes and turbans.

Everybody remember what Vlad Dracul is said to have done to the Turks who would not remove theirs for him?

So this gang is one step ahead of the ones who want to defile Ground Zero. They are already defiling one of the greatest architectural spaces in New York. And yes, on Yom Kippur. Must have been just a "coincidence".

RRA, they've been at this for at least three years, and it's not just a one day event. . .it's several from 42st Street to NY Film Academy to Prospect Park to Times Square (last year on Yom Kippur), and it was at Grand Central after that. video: Turkish events throughout NY. Current Senate candidate, Kristin Gillibrand, Brooklyn's Marty Markowitz, Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Samsar are some of the political faces featured on this video.

In the video linked above, one of the tents highlighted Kamal Ataturk (ff 5:10). "Republicanism (Turkish: Cumhuriyetçilik) Kemalist ideology replaced the absolutism of the monarchy (Ottoman Dynasty) with the rule of law." At the end of WWII, Kemal Attaturk westernised Turkey. Unfortunately, those efforts are currently falling apart rapidly.
At another event there were displays for the Hittite Empire, Lydia Kingdom and Troy.

It appears that this festival is routinely held in Sept. Oct. time frame. Was it intentionally timed to coincide with yom kippur? . . .good question.

This is the time to raise the issue with the MTA and the Turkish society to avoid this coincidence taking place in the future. If they do not respond, you have your answer.

Jews do not impose their yom kippur fast upon any non-Jew nor do they ask that anyone change their routine for them. So long as this festival does not impose upon yom kippur or the practices associated with this high holy day, it should not be an issue.
BTW, 'erev' yom kippur refers to the day/hours before the fast begins.. . (lit. "eve [of] day [of] atonement")

Yes, Anonymous. That is true.

However,

that is not the point.

The point is THE QUESTION.

Why Yom Kippur of all days?

There is no definitive answer to that question as of now. But, that does not mean the question is not worth asking.

IF,

the answer to the question is that an alliance of Leftists (anti-Zionists) and Islamists are conspiring to insult Jews,

then,

certainly, that would be worth knowing.

Don't you think?
