J-Street exposed as Soros-funded

The Washington Times (via The American Thinker) reports that the left-wing group J-Street is just another front for the traitorous George Soros:
The Jewish-American advocacy group J Street, which bills itself as the dovish alternative to the influential American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) lobby, has secretly received funding from billionaire George Soros despite previous denials that it accepted funds from the Hungarian-born financier and liberal political activist.

Tax forms obtained by The Washington Times reveal that Mr. Soros and his two children, Jonathan and Andrea Soros, contributed a total $245,000 to J Street from one Manhattan address in New York during the fiscal year from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009.

The contributions represent a third of the group's revenue from U.S. sources during the period. Nearly half of J Street's revenue during the timeframe - a total of $811,697 - however, came from a single donor in Happy Valley, Hong Kong, named Consolacion Esdicul. [...]

Mr. Ben Ami [J-Street's executive director] said his group had no qualms about getting money from Mr. Soros.

"I am very, very proud that our movement and what we are trying to do is aligned with the values and principles of George Soros and we are proud to have his support," he said.

Mr. Ben Ami said Mr. Soros "made the public decision not to support us once we launched. Once we got started, he provided us with some money." Mr. Ben Ami's words on Thursday contrasted sharply with statements on the J Street website concerning the group's receipt of funding from Mr. Soros.

In a section of the website called "myths and facts," the group includes a passage that reads: "George Soros very publicly stated his decision not to be engaged in J Street when it was launched - precisely out of fear that his involvement would be used against the organization."

After Mr. Ben Ami spoke with The Times, the website was abruptly amended Thursday night with an addition that stated: "J Street has said it doesn't receive money from George Soros, but now news reports indicate that he has in fact contributed."
Any group associated with Soros must be completely avoided. Who is Esdicul though? Could she be another crony of Soros?

More on the Terror Threat to Europe

It's not just Debka warning about it.

h/t Jawa

The Moderate Voice:

Terrorism: Should Europe and the US Go to Red Alert?
Posted by JOERG WOLF in International, Media, War.

Sep 24th, 2010 Counterterrorism officials in France, Germany, Britain, and the United States have given warnings this week about the rising threat of attacks by Al Qaeda and its affiliates, especially in Europe. Are our politicians listening? Are you concerned?

“Al Qaeda and its allies are taking aim at Europe, according to US and Western intelligence officials, who say there are indications a terrorist plot is in the offing” writes the Washington Times. (HT: ACUS)

While FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III told a Senate hearing on Wednesday that Al Qaeda continues to be “committed to high-profile attacks directed at the West,” Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano stressed the increasing threat of smaller-scale attacks, which require less planning and fewer pre-operational steps and therefore are more difficult to detect before they occur.

France’s counterterrorism chief Bernard Squarcini warned in Le Monde: “All the lights are red. They are flashing from everywhere.” The risk of a terrorist attack on French soil has “never been higher” and “objectively, there are reasons for worry.” David Ignatius covers this warning in English in the Washington Post and adds that Joerg Ziercke, the head of Germany’s federal crime office, noticed a growing number of residents traveling to terrorist camps and describes 131 people in Germany as “potential instigators.” He said 70 of them had “completed paramilitary training in terror camps” and 40 had combat experience with insurgents in Afghanistan.

His British counterpart Jonathan Evans, head of MI5, warned of rising threats from Yemen and Somalia. According to The Telegraph he noted that “a significant number of UK residents” were receiving training from al-Qaeda’s Somali affiliate and that “it is only a matter of time before we see terrorism on our streets inspired by these Somali recruits.”

Many papers in the United States and Europe wrote about these warnings from their countries’ top counterterrorism officials this week, but it was not front-page news. Are the media and politicians, especially in Europe, underestimating the threat?

Or is the calm European response more appropriate because terrorism is just an ordinary risk that we have to accept and live with?

ABC Airs Video Of Woman Being Stoned To Death - Make Excuses For Insane Muslim Behavior

Imagine, one of the attendees of this stoning released the video. So just think about what we don't see. I saw this video first at ABC but didn't run their video it because it is irresponsibly edited  and because the accompanying  narrative was so wrong, so patently false and deliberately misleading -- the commentary from Gayle Lemmon, an spologist from the Council of Foreign Relations (a tool for the stealth jihad) makes these pathetic excuses to ABC's Brian Ross who nods cluelessly:
"It's difficult to know where and when it was shot," says Gayle Lemmon, deputy director of the Women and Foreign Policy Program at the Council of Foreign Relations, in an interview with Ross, "It is consistent with videos that have been coming from Taliban-controlled areas since the '90s."
Lemmon says that when women "stray outside the line" in Taliban-controlled areas, they may "face severe punishment."
"Women are respected as carriers of the family honor," says Lemmon, "but they also pay the price."...
It's the sharia, stupid. Check out the rest of the  idiocy over at ABC  here.

President Obama’s Rwanda Moment

Sudanese refugees say Obama broke his promise to them.
A group of African former slaves turned human rights activists are walking from New York City to Washington, D.C. at this moment. They are calling attention to the ongoing crisi of genocide and slavery in Sudan. A New York Times op-ed recently referred to the situation there as “President Obama’s Rwanda moment … unfolding now, in slow motion.”
Sudan is less than 100 days from a referendum that is the culmination of the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA,) which was a welcome example of what the United States can do when it uses its influence effectively. That agreement, a major focus for the Bush administration, is seen by expertsas endangered by a lack of resolve on the part of Obama and his team at the State Department.
Human rights activist Simon Deng is leading the fourth Sudan Freedom Walk to call attention to the impending disaster his people face in South Sudan. Deng, now a U.S. citizen, sees the upcoming referendum as a stark choice for his people:
… whether they’re going to remain under the islamization and arabization, under enslavement, or they’re going to choose freedom for the first time. I, for one, don’t want to go back to being a slave again. I’ve tasted freedom. I’m proud today to stand in this country, as a free man, speaking to free people.
Of course they’re going to chose freedom. Because freedom is a God given right to all human beings. That being said, we, the people of South Sudan, for sixty years we went through a lot at the hands of the sitting governments in Khartoum. They slaughtered three and a half million South Sudanese. They enslaved thousands. They turned their arms and guns on the people in the Nuba Mountains. They turned their arms and guns on the people in the Blue Nile. And the world came to their senses by saying what happened in western Sudan in Darfur region is genocide.

Simon Deng addressed his remarks to Obama before start of the Sudan Freedom Walk in New York

The Secretary of State a month ago, Hillary Clinton, said that the problem in South Sudan is a ticking time bomb. We don’t want to go back. We don’t want to go back to Islam. We don’t want to go back to enslavement. We don’t want to go back to arabization. We are proud as Africans in that continent. Sudan is the land of the blacks.
And that is why we don’t want to turn our backs to our brothers in Darfur. … after southern Sudan becomes independent next year we’re still going to be their voice because they’re being victimized the way we’re being victimized in that country, and we’re going to Washington to ask our (United States) governenment that CPA that we talk about it is the legacy of the American government and, I’m speaking directly to President Obama. He was there with me when we talked about the issue in the South Sudan as a senator, shoulder to shoulder, when we talked about the Southern Sudan. I’m asking you, why are you distancing yourself from me, why are you distancing yourself from the issue of Sudan? Why are you putting heavyweights to be envoys here and envoys there, and you’re sending someone who has to learn on the job to be the envoy, knowing the magnitude of the problem in the Sudan? Why not Colin Powell? Why don’t you call him? Colin Powell even said it himself: “If the President calls on me, I will pick up the phone.” Call on him tomorrow, Mr. President. I’m walking to Washington, and I’m looking forward to discuss this matter with you.

Mr. Deng and other Sudanese refugees say that then Senator Obama promised them during a meeting in Philadelphia in 2008 to make peace in Sudan his first priority when he became president. Many Sudanese in Philadelphia campaigned door to door for Obama because they believed his promise. They say that the Obama administration has only played lip service to the plight of South Sudan and Darfur and that Obama’s percieved lack of interest has emboldened the Khartoum regime and imperiled the CPA.

Holder and the Justice Department: At Least It's Not As Bad As Jim Crow

From Ace of Spades:

Here is the sum and entirety of the leftist defense of this. You'll see this in the coming days quite a bit:
Oh Noes! Poor whites are now under a New Jim Crow system! Oh Noes!
So much stupidity and malice is packed into that predictable sarcastic rejoinder. The most important idea expressed: So long as racial discrimination directed against whites does not rise to the level of full, 1955 Jim Crow, no harm, no foul, nothing to complain about, and whites' (and good-spirited minorities', too) objections to such a shabby system of discrimination should just shut their mouths and accept that a little bit of second-class-citizenship is nothing to go crazy about.
So long as the system of racial discrimination isn't as evil as Jim Crow, we can (and should) accept some evil without complaint. Or else ya get the "Oh Noes!" treatment.
Granted: This is not as bad as Jim Crow.
But I'd like a lefty to explain to me why it is not bad at all, or even arguably good. And if it is bad at all -- even if not as bad as Jim Crow -- why should anyone, white black Asian or Hispanic, accept it?
Do we generally have a belief that the government is permitted to dabble in lesser evils? If so, when did we decide that? I don't remember having voted on that.

Muslims will become majority in Europe, senior Vatican official warns

European Christians must have more children or face the prospect of the continent becoming Islamised, a senior Vatican official has said.

Muslims will become majority in Europe, senior Vatican official warns
While many European Catholic bishops often defend the rights of Muslims to worship publicly others are more keen to protect the Christian heritage of their continent Photo: AFP/Getty Images
Italian Father Piero Gheddo said that the low birth rate among indigenous Europeans combined with an unprecedented wave of Muslim immigrants with large families could see Europe becoming dominated by Islam in the space of a few generations.
"The challenge must be taken seriously," said Father Gheddo, of the Vatican's Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions.
"Certainly from a demographic point of view, as it is clear to everyone that Italians are decreasing by 120,000 or 130,000 persons a year because of abortion and broken families – while among the more than 200,000 legal immigrants a year in Italy, more than half are Muslims and Muslim families, which have a much higher level of growth."
He said: "Newspapers and television programmes never speak of this. However, an answer must be given above all in the religious and cultural fields and in the area of identity."
The priest blamed Christians for failing to live up to their own beliefs and helping to create a "religious vacuum" which was being filled by Islam.
He predicted that Islam would "sooner rather than later conquer the majority in Europe".
"The fact is that, as a people, we are becoming ever more pagan and the religious vacuum is inevitably filled by other proposals and religious forces," he said.
Father Gheddo also said that Christians who lapsed were also making themselves vulnerable to attacks by secularists.
He said when "religious practice diminishes in Christian Europe and indifference spreads, Christianity and the Church are attacked".

Pastorius' comment:

Though I agree with Father Pietro Gheddo, that Europe is doomed to become more and more Islamic because of it's lack of belief in it's own Christian tradition, I think there is one glaring deficiency in his analysis of the situation.

Here's what is wrong with his analysis:

The Christian belief system includes the idea that all Christian Faith is a matter of the individual will.

Therefore, European Freedom of Choice/Freedom of Speech/Freedom of Conscience must come BEFORE Europe's Christian Faith.

AND,

this European Freedom must be articulated and defended by the Ministers of the Christian Faith, or it will be seen as a scam by lapsed Christians, secularists, and Muslims,

and,

it will be rejected.

Europe's long history of State-promoted religion has weakened real Christian Faith, and Europe is now suffering the consequences.

Ultimately, mankind can not be forced to do anything, not even defend itself.

And, if human beings do not have something they believe makes their life worth defending, they will simply lie down and die.

And, this is what Europe is doing.

To repeat:

FREEDOM COMES FIRST

From there,

the differences between Secularism, Christianity, and Islam will be clear, and people will make an informed and reasonable decision.

American Hero: Coates Negates a Year of Justice Department Spin on New Black Panther Case

We no longer must consult history for a lawyer-hero willing to take personal risk for sacred principles such as the rule of law and racial equality. Our age can claim Christopher Coates.

From J. Christian Adams at PJM:

In a dramatic hearing in Washington, D.C., Coates simply destroyed the year-long spin from the Justice Department regarding the dismissal. Coates is the former Voting Section chief, and served as lead attorney on the Black Panther case. He has practiced voting rights law longer than any other lawyer at the Justice Department. His testimony today was the worst possible nightmare for the Obama political officials responsible for the dismissal.
I testified before the Commission in July that Obama political appointee Julie Fernandes made it clear that the Voting Section at the Justice Department would not be bringing any more cases against traditional national racial minorities, like the members of the New Black Panthers. Under oath, Coates corroborated my testimony.
The public has been wondering for over a year why the case was dismissed. Coates testified why today:
[There is a] deep-seated opposition to the race-neutral enforcement of the Voting Rights Act against racial minorities and for the protection of whites who have been discriminated against.
Coates verified that the DOJ is infested with racially motivated hostility towards equal enforcement of the law. Like me, Coates testified about the history of open and pervasive hostility inside the Voting Section to protecting the rights of white voters. This hostility first emerged in the case against Ike Brown in Noxubee County, Mississippi, going back as far as 2004:
The opposition within the Voting Section to taking actions on behalf of white voters in Noxubee County, Mississippi, … was widespread.
Coates confirmed that senior managers didn’t even want to open the investigation into discrimination against white voters in Noxubee County:
The Deputy Chief who was leading that election coverage asked me: “can you believe that we are going to Mississippi to protect white voters?”
Coates described how his memoranda were doctored by former Voting Section Chief Joe Rich, confirming my testimony as well as an article that appeared hereat PJM this week.
Coates also testified that he was reprimanded by Acting Assistant Attorney General Loretta King when he asked attorneys in job interviews if they could enforce the law equally. Coates asked them if they were willing to enforce the law in a racially neutral fashion, regardless of the race of the wrongdoer, even if the wrongdoer was black. Naturally, this inquiry into the applicant’s sense of fairness greatly offended the racially obsessed King. Her agenda was quite different than Coates’ agenda. Coates testified he was summoned to the senior political offices for a tongue-lashing by King, and the interview questions Coates was asking had to go:
King took offense that I was asking such a question of job applicants and directed me not to ask it again because she does not support equal enforcement of the provisions of the Voting Rights Act.
King wanted like-minded attorneys who were corruptly willing to turn a blind eye toward racial discrimination committed by national racial minorities. Soon thereafter, Coates was stripped of his power even to interview applicants. King wasn’t taking any chances that fair-minded, law-abiding attorneys might slip through — only the corrupt need apply.

Barack Obama's Likely Ghostwriter Bill Ayers Denied Emeritus Status; Robert Kennedy's Son Speaks Out, Saying He Cannot Abide Such An Honor Being Conferred On a Man Who Dedicated Book To His Father's Killer

His father's rightwing, Tea Partier killer, Palestinian extremist Sirhan Sirhan.

Kennedy fils is actually on the university's board of trustees, and voted to deny Ayers the honor.

So here we are: It is "shocking" to some that we deny an honor to a killer. And it's an act of odd, notable courage to speak out against conferring such honors on killers.

Obama's Gonna Pay My Mortgage, From His Stash ...

From Will At The Other News:

The October surprise in November 2010? "Fed to print $30 trillion by Thanksgiving 2010, " says Barry Young of KFYI

For the last two years we have been saying that gold was going to $ 1650 by January 2011 and most likely $3,000-$5,000 by June 2011.
One of our readers informed us that Barry Young of Arizona's KFYI.com on his morning show between 7:00 AM-10:00 AM informed us that theFederal Reserve is getting ready to print $30 T-R-I-L-L-I-O-N by Thanksgiving 2010. This represents 300% of the GDP.
This is the first time we have heard a major news outlet say what we have been saying for the last two years. KFYI.com boasts a million listeners in Arizona.
We were wondering what circumstances would be needed to bull gold to those levels. Printing $30 T-R-I-L-L-I-O-N like this will do that.
What Obama is doing here is a scorched earth retreat like Saddam Hussein did when he was retreating out of KuwaitObama knows that he is beaten. Before he goes he is making sure he destroys all Americans and robs them of whatever wealth and happiness they have left by destroying the currency. Not surprisingly this development will occur right before the elections. This is Obama’s flip of the finger to the new Congress and to the Americans who support it.
Karl Marx said that in order to conquer a country you must destroy it’s currency. Obama knows this lesson well.

Oh, Yeah!

From RP Free Speech of Another Thousand Words (Click directly on the image to enlarge it):

And what has to be the quote of the week (hat tip to Warren):
Let me put this bluntly: virtually no one in America gives a damn what Barack Obama says about anything at this point. What could be more predictable, and less interesting, than Obama’s opinion on any given subject? Who wants to contemplate the economic wisdom of a guy who looted the Treasury for a trillion dollars, with less benefit than we could have achieved by stuffing hundred dollar bills into random cereal boxes? Who’s excited to hear about the next plan to convert taxpayer dollars into Democrat campaign funds? Who’s hungry for another hour of tedious excuses about permanently broken markets and the titanic dead hand of George W. Bush? Who wants a lecture on ethical business practices from the titular head of the party that gave us Charlie Rangel and Maxine Waters? What use is another hollow foreign-policy speech from a man who sees no global adversary to rival the menace of Arizona? Even Obama’s supporters don’t hear anything he says any more. There’s nothing left to hear.

Texas Board of Education Adopts Resolution Calling for Textbook Publishers to Curtail Pro-Islam Bias

From Weasel Zippers (click on title for the whole story):

The Texas State Board of Education has adopted a resolution seeking to curtail references to Islam in textbooks.
Social conservatives on the board had asked that the resolution be put on Friday’s agenda. It was approved by a 7-6 vote.
The one-page resolution calls on textbook publishers to limit what they print about Islam in world history books and says the board “will look to reject future prejudicial social studies submissions.”

IAEA Resolution Targeting Israel Defeated

Newsmax:

Friday, 24 Sep 2010 11:53 AM

Arab-backed measure calling for Israel to accede to Nuclear Proliferation Treaty narrowly defeated at meeting of UN watchdog; FM: Important victory for the moral position against an extreme and hypocritical one.

After weeks of intense lobbying efforts, Israel succeeded in defeating a resolution put forward at the annual meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna calling for Israel to accede to the Non Proliferation Treaty and place its nuclear facilities under IAEA guidelines.

The resolution put forward by the Arab group and viewed in Jerusalem as another example of anti-Israeli resolutions tabled regularly in international forums, was defeated by a vote of 51-46.

Last year a similar resolution passed by a vote of 49-45.

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who in recent days made dozens of phone calls to his counterparts around the world to defeat the resolution, said this was an "important victory for the moral position against an extreme and hypocritical one."

Jeremy Issacharoff, the Foreign Ministry's deputy director-general for Strategic Affairs who was intensely involved in efforts to defeat the resolution, said the vote showed that "Israel is not isolated on the issue, and there is a significant degree of understanding for Israel's security position."

Issacharoff said the result of the vote indicates a growing frustration inside the IAEA "at being unable to deal with the real threats to international and regional security, like Iran and Syria.

Israel's Atomic Energy Commission was also heavily involved in efforts to fight the resolution, and both Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres raised the issue with their counterparts over the last several days.

At a speech at the assembly earlier in the week, the head of Israel's Atomic Energy Commission, Shaul Chorev, said "I wish to remind all delegates that four Middle Eastern member states, parties to the NPT , namely, Iran, Syria, Libya and Iraq under Saddam Hussein, have grossly violated their treaty obligations. These four cases make it absolutely clear, that the NPT is unable to adequately address the security challenges of the Middle East region. where the Treaty has been mostly abused."

Chorev said that the true threat to the non-proliferation regime "is posed from within, by those states that pursue nuclear weapons, under the cover of their NPT membership."

Islamic Bloc Revives Call for U.N. to Set Up International Monitoring Mechanism to Track “Islamophobia”

From Weasel Zippers:

The Quran-burning controversy in the United States has prompted the Islamic bloc at the United Nations to revive its call for the U.N. to set up an “international monitoring mechanism” to track incidents of “Islamophobia.”
Five years after establishing an “Islamophobia Observatory” of its own, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is now calling on the U.N.’s top human rights official to set up a comparable body at her Geneva office. According to the OIC, human rights commissioner Navanethem Pillay has agreed to consider the proposal.
At the U.N. Human Rights Council this week, OIC members are also seeking support for a resolution condemning Florida pastor Terry Jones’ abortive call to burn copies of the Quran on September 11.
Introduced by Pakistan on behalf of the OIC, the text condemns “the recent call by an extremist group to organize a ‘Burn a Koran Day’” and says it was among “instances of intolerance, discrimination, profiling and acts of violence against Muslims occurring in many parts of the world.”
When it comes to a vote — before the Council’s session in Geneva ends next Friday — the measure almost certainly will pass. The OIC controls more than one-third of the Council’s seats, and its resolutions are routinely backed by non-Muslim allies such as China, Russia, Cuba and South Africa.

OIC Subversive Supremacist World Summit in Chicago: Installing the Universal Caliphate

From Atlas Shrugs:

There is, from the 28th to the 30th of this month, a conference being held by the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the American Islamic College on "Islam and Muslims in America" in Chicago. It is a summit of Islamic supremacists at the highest levels of national and international power.

Notice how all of these Islamic organizations and groups all share the same goal, worldwide. This conference appears to be the penultimate chapter, a decidedly evil moment, in American history.

The fox is in the hen-house. Here we see, up close, just how deeply the US government has been infiltrated by the stealth jihadists. The panel discussions give us a true picture of their agenda -- The Role of the OIC & The scope of its relations with American Muslims, American Foreign Policy & The Muslim World, and Islam in the American Context.

Unindicted co-conspirators, Hamas-linked, Muslim Brotherhood fronts like CAIR and ISNA pow wow with Muslim Congressmen and with people at senior levels of the White House, the State Department and the largest Islamic supremacist body in the world, the OIC (Organization of the Islamic Conference).

Look what i got about "Ufuk Gocken",Turkey Honorary Consul General Mr. Ufuk GOKCEN.Oct 2007 - "CORDOBA speech"Conference on intolerance and discrimination against Muslims.

Weird how they like the use of CORDOBA?Hmmm ....Turkey - Iran.....Blame the Jews??

Iran: (another) prominent human rights campaigner, sentenced to jail

After Shiva Nazad Azari's 6 yr- prison sentence and Hossein Derakhsan aka Hoder's possible death penalty, now Emad Baghi has also been sentenced for "engaging in propaganda against the Islamic republic".
A prominent Iranian rights campaigner has been sentenced to six years in jail after he recorded an interview for the BBC's Persian language TV channel.
Emad Baghi was convicted of engaging in propaganda against the Islamic system, a statement on his website said.
The court charges referred to his BBC interview with Iran's leading reformist cleric, the late Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Ali Montazeri.
Mr Baghi, 49, remains free, pending an appeal hearing.
The interview was broadcast after the death of Ayatollah Montazeri in December 2009. His funeral sparked a series of anti-government demonstrations across Iran.
Mr Baghi was arrested days later, then freed on bail in June.
In a separate case, he was sentenced in July to one year in prison and banned from political activities for five years, after being convicted of endangering national security in relation to his work defending prisoners' rights. An appeal court upheld the sentence on Tuesday.
....He has spent four-and-a-half years in prison over the past decade, and suffers from serious heart and kidney ailments.

Pakistani Scientist Found Guilty of Attempted Killing in Afghanistan
Thursday, September 23, 2010
By Ailsa Chang

A Pakistani neuroscientist has been sentenced to 86 years in prison for trying to kill FBI agents and military officers while she was in custody in Afghanistan.

Lawyers for Aafia Siddiqui, 38, had asked for 12 years, but prosecutors pushed for life in prison.

U.S. officials and soldiers testified that when they tried to interrogate Siddiqui in July 2008, she grabbed an assault rifle and fired at them yelling, "Death to Americans!"

The judge concluded her forceful resistance amounted to terrorism, and handed down a harsher sentence based on a "terrorism enhancement" under federal sentencing guidelines. But Siddiqui's lawyer Charlie Swift says under that analysis, anyone who uses force against federal authorities would be considered a terrorist.

"It broadly overstates what terrorism is," says Swift, "and it actually diminishes the punishment for terrorism because it's now saying that terrorism is almost anything. And I think that's one of the things that in the post 9/11 world we've gotten wrong."

During her 14-day trial, she was removed from the courtroom numerous times for loud outbursts.

In February, a jury found her guilty of all seven counts against her, including attempted murder and assault. Her conviction and sentencing have triggered protests in Pakistan.

At her sentencing hearing this morning, Siddiqui reassured her supporters she had not been tortured in jail and that she wished only for an end to the wars.

American Spectator:

The Sharia-Compliant American Left
By George Neumayr on 9.23.10

Vladimir Lenin said that westerners too dumb to recognize his plans to "hang them" would "sell me the rope -- on credit." And they did, engaging in decades of excuse-making for Communist totalitarianism. But without the Soviets around, the American left needed new anti-western totalitarians to mollify, and the leaders of militant Islam satisfied that itch.

In the 1970s, the American left embraced the Ayatollah Khomeini. Jimmy Carter's United Nations representative, Andrew Young, said that in time Khomeini would be seen as "some kind of saint." The BBC and New York Times defended Khomeini as a potential progressive during his days as a Parisian layabout in exile. Carter's ambassador to Iran assured the skeptical that "Khomeini is a Gandhi-like figure."

Today's American left displays its useful idiocy by insisting after each new act of Islamic terrorism that "Islam is a religion of peace." MSNBC is the unofficial headquarters for these useful idiots and now numbers the mugging and giggling morning host and "Republican" lightweight Joe Scarborough as a member in good standing. In between goofing around with Carter adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski's stuck-up daughter Mika, Scarborough often shills for the Gandhi-like figures of Islam today. He longs for that glorious day when fellow Republicans abandon their bigotry and see a mosque near the ruins of the World Trade Center as American as apple pie.

Eugene Robinson, whom MSNBC hosts incessantly introduce as a "Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist" before his insight-free appearances, wrote a column this week titled "Sharia the new Red menace?" Robinson chuckled at Newt Gingrich's recent comment that Sharia law is seeping into western countries through "stealth jihadis."

"The 'stealth jihadis,' I suppose, must be like the 'known communists' on the list in Sen. Joseph McCarthy's hand," wrote Robinson, a gibe sure to impress peers at the Post and New York Times who for years insisted Alger Hiss wasn't a Communist. Robinson appears oblivious to the fact that western liberals themselves have endorsed the spread of Sharia law.

In 2008, Dr. Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, supported the adoption of elements of Sharia law in Britain. "It seems unavoidable and, as a matter of fact, certain conditions of Sharia are already recognized in our society," he said. Williams called for "plural jurisdiction" and "constructive accommodation."

The American left's face of moderate Islam, the Ground Zero mosque imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, wrote for Eugene Robinson's own employer in 2008 that Rowan Williams "was right": "The addition of Sharia law to 'the law of the land,' in this case British law, complements, rather than undermines, existing legal frameworks. The Archbishop was right. It is time for Britain to integrate aspects of Islamic law."

Robinson finds it absurd that Gingrich would say, "How we don't have some kind of movement in this country on the left that understands that sharia is a direct mortal threat to virtually every value that the left has is really one of the most interesting historical questions." But Gingrich is hardly the first person to make this point. Liberals such as the late Italian journalist Oriana Fallaci and Salman Rushdie complained about the obtuseness of progressive Islamophiles long before Gingrich talked about it. When Tony Blair wowed progressives in 2005 by naming Sir Iqbal Sacranie as the face of moderate Islam in the U.K, Rushdie had to remind his peers that Sacranie approved of the fatwa on his head (saying "death is perhaps too easy" for Rushdie) and had boycotted a Holocaust remembrance.

Communism's useful idiots sold Lenin and his successors the rope to hang them. Islam's apologists will not only sell the jihadists the rope to hang westerners but will acquit them through Sharia law after they do.

Reid Furiously Seeks Campaign Funds
Thursday, 23 Sep 2010

In a desperate attempt to fight off his Nevada Republican challenger Sharron Angle, Senate Majority leader Harry Reid is hosting at least four major fundraisers in Washington, D.C. in a two-week period. And Angle isn’t sitting still herself. She has pulled in more than $1 million in September alone, GOP sources tell Roll Call.

As for Reid, “His fundraising has never lacked intensity, but it is definitely at a high volume just because the stakes are so high,” former Reid adviser Penny Lee told Roll Call.

Reid’s shindigs include a Sept. 15 breakfast hosted by the Democratic freshman Senate classes of 2006 and 2008 at a Washington hotel and a Sunday gathering at the home of former Virginia Gov. Chuck Robb and his wife, Lynda in McLean, Va.

Suggested contributions range from $500 to $5,000 at the events.

Obama's Advisers Stage Mass Exit
Thursday, 23 Sep 2010
By: Mike Tighe and David Patten

Key Obama insider David Axelrod confirmed Thursday he will be leaving the administration next year, and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is now expected to leave his post as early as next month.

These latest defections add to the perception that "no-drama Obama" officials are rushing for the White House exits before voters deliver their midterm evaluation of President Obama's "hope and change" agenda.

"I'll be here well into 2011," Axelrod wrote Thursday in an e-mail to Fox News. "At some point, I'll leave to work on reelect."

Axelrod and Emanuel are the two advisers Obama probably relies on the most. Emanuel, whose profane tirades are legendary, is now thought likely to leave the White House as early as October in order to prepare his run for mayor of Chicago.

Axelrod, of course, will continue to work for the president, but in a more overtly political capacity. He will try to help Team Obama recapture the lost political mojo that propelled Obama to the White House.

The Axelrod and Emanuel news followed a rash of recent top-level resignations.

On Tuesday, senior presidential adviser Larry Summers announced he would be leave the administration and return to Harvard University.

Other recent departures include economics adviser Christina Romer, who had issued the ill-fated prediction that the stimulus would hold unemployment below 8 percent; and Peter Orszag, the White House budget director who recently broke with the administration and called for extension of all Bush-era tax cuts.

Also, the assistant Treasury secretary for financial stability who helped oversee the TARP program, Herbert Allison, announced Wednesday that he is returning to Connecticut for family reasons.

Despite the apparent high-level shake up, the White House is working overtime to assure the media that the defections are completely routine and have nothing to do with the flagging economy, or the president's plummeting poll numbers.

Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director, insisted everything is business as usual at the White House.

"Every presidency has transitions after two years,” he said according to Politico.com. “These are hard taxing jobs and it makes sense that some people would move on. The hyperventilation and the parlor games may be unavoidable, but they don't signal anything unusual.”

But so many high level advisers jumping ship before the midterms, at a time when the departures could be viewed as evidence of turmoil and policy blunders, seems remarkable.

Best-selling author and Fox News commentator Dick Morris agrees the resignations are related to the president's declining fortunes.

"I think that there is a desire to scapegoat already for the impending catastrophe the Democrats are going to face in 2010," Morris tells Newsmax.TV in an exclusive interview.

Morris adds those leaving have a personal interest in doing so as well.

“I think there’s a feeling -- I’m guessing -- by a lot of these Obama appointees, particularly on the economic team, but also a guy like Emanuel, that Obama might be a one-term president and that they better get out and set up their careers while the getting is good,” says Morris, a Newsmax contributor. “If you want to be a lobbyist or you want to run for mayor, or you want to become a lobbyist [or] a consultant, you’d best do that when your guy is still in power and still has two years left on his term, rather than after you lost a re-election campaign.”

Rick Grenell, who served as a spokesman for four U.S. ambassadors to the United Nations, quipped Thursday that "Clearly they all wanted to spend more time with their families, right?"

Speaking in an exclusive Newsmax.TV interview, Grenell says he doesn't buy the spin coming from the White House that the sudden exits are unrelated to the economy.

"I think really all these economic advisers in the Obama administration have really been forced to resign," he says, "and hopefully their reputations have been ruined because they couldn't deliver."

Grenell adds: "The unemployment rate is the highest that it's been since the Carter days. Our economy has not turned itself around from the incredible amount of stimulus money that was pumped into it.

"And Obama and his administration, including the Democrats in Congress, continue to spend our way out of this. It's like they don't understand that government doesn't create jobs. As my grandfather used to always say to me, 'No poor person ever hired me.'"

Although Axelrod confirmed his departure, Emanuel's exit is less certain.

A senior White House adviser told CBS News correspondent Chip Reid there is a "decent chance" Emanuel will leave the White House before the midterms to launch his candidacy for mayor of Chicago.

That would be at odds with the understanding President Obama expressed when questions about Emanuel arose in a Sept. 10 interview on ABC's Good Morning America.

"My expectation is, he'd make a decision after these midterm elections," Obama said. "He knows that we've got a lot of work to do. But I think he'd be a terrific mayor."

Emanuel is apparently either unwilling or unable to abide by Obama's timetable.

In the past week, Emanuel has been seen meeting with Chicago's congressional delegation, seeking feedback on the issues expected to dominate next year's race for Chicago Mayor. One prominent Democrat told Politico that Emanuel is poised to flee across the Potomac.

“Yeah, he’s going to run -- provided his wife doesn’t pull the plug,” that source said.

The spate of unexpected departure announcements just 40 days from the November election once again muddled White House efforts to keep the message focus on Obama's efforts to fix the economy.

"Clearly, the team has lost consensus, coherence, and commitment to a fiscal plan," Douglas Schoen, author of Mad as Hell: How the Tea Party Movement is Fundamentally Remaking Our Two-Party System," told Newsmax Tuesday. "And with Romer's, Orszag's, and now Summers' departure, it is clear the Obama administration will need a new approach and new direction following what is likely to be a November election defeat."

Inside and outside the White House, attention is turning to how the president may use the sudden job openings to recast his administration.

A Financial Times commentary said Obama's next appointments could represent a watershed for his presidency.

“It will be up to Mr. Obama to make replacing Mr. Summers and the rest of the team more than a personnel exercise,” the Financial Times’ David Rothkopf wrote. “He needs to make it a real mid-course correction.

"Because in the end, his re-election and his legacy will turn on the big economic decisions he and his new team will make in the months ahead.”
