Rulers of Islamic Countries Fear Unrestrained Islam

From Bernie at Planck's Constant:

couple walking in lahore pakistanNo one knows the evil power of Islam as well as the governments in secular Muslim nations. Sadly, most Americans and Europeans mistakenly assume Islam is a religion. Leaders in Muslim countries know better - they know Islam is a political and military system bent on world domination.

Pastorius,

I would actually put "Secular" in quotes because most of the Islamic countries he is talking about aren't really secular at all. Contrary to what Planck's Constant may say, Islam is a religion, regardless of its totalitarian nature. In at least most of those societies, Islam is still mandated by the state and at least some of Islam's laws are enforced. I would not say that countries like Egypt have a "separation of mosque and state." Most shocking to anyone who doesn't know any better, is that people are punished for leaving Islam in those societies, often very severely.

P,
Dag once asked me, "Why do you follow this blog, if you (are Muslim and) object to its posting?" (or something to that effect)

My reasons are (among others) ;
1)Different views as to how Westerners look at Islam
2)Your opinions are always presented in a logical yet without derogatory words, sometimes humourously, unlike others
3)I can agree to disagree with you (safely)
4)You are tireless with your theology arguments

For this post:
Islam is a political & military system - I agree, but if only the Muslim world is united. We are still undecided on the Sunni-Syiah bickerings, the Middle East etc. Muslims are still killing each other over political powers in their own backyards. So, I disagree on the World Domination part.

The system is simply MALIGNANT, abdoos, you are arguing it is not efficiently so.

That is a happenstance, a tactical coincidence.

I am not sure if Mohammed was a genius in human nature or if an auditory nerve carcinoma is responsible for all this, but to think that selfish national or tribal interests prevent the basic action of the deen and it's founding document is a very patch of thin ice to stand on over time

Epa,
I agree with you.

I am always surprised when Muslims make this argument,

"Sure, I have to kill you for being a gay apostate who cheated on his wife, but I have not yet been able to set up the correct legal system, so you are safe for now, oh and by the way, I am peaceful and I love you."

It's absurdity at it's height.

P,
Kill all gays & apostates?
That only happened in the Middle East, Pakistan & Afghanistan.

In the others countries (if it ever happened) are mostly mob inspired.

Mobs of people who kill gays and apostates.

What do you think inspired the mobs to do that?

The same reason KKK lynched a person?

Distorted interpretation of their religion(s).

Well, your religion tells you to strike fear into the hearts of the unbelievers, to terrorize them, and to fight them in the month of Ramadan.

But, let's throw that out for the moment, shall we?

In total, the high estimate on the number of blacks lynched by the KKK is 6000.

The number of human beings killed by Islam is in the hundreds of millions.

This remind me of Joseph Stalin's well known quote, "One death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic."

Numbers do matter as measurements.

If you are taking your temperature, the difference between 99 degrees or 105 degrees is huge.
