US President Barack Obama has said Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi must obey the UN's demands or face military action.I'm going to admit to over-the-top cynicism.
He said Thursday's UN Security Council resolution, which demanded an immediate ceasefire, was not negotiable.
He said the entire region could be destabilised if Col Gaddafi was allowed to continue attacking his own people.
Earlier, the Libyan government announced an immediate ceasefire and promised to follow the UN resolution.
Mr Obama said Col Gaddafi's troops must pull back from rebel-held towns including Benghazi, and the authorities must allow in humanitarian aid.
"If he does not comply, the international community will impose consequences," said Mr Obama. "The resolution will be enforced by military action."...
In my view, BHO is campaigning for 2012.

Maybe he could threaten to go over there and lecture them. Threaten to bring along Janet Napoeonitano and Hillary and the fighting would all be over.
Obama should butt out of this civil war and so should Cameron who was the prime mover in the "no fly zone" proposition.
Who can say whether the "rebels" represent the majority of the people. The fact that they shout allulah akbar constantly gives us a clue where this is going.
Can you imagine "rebels" demonstrating on the streets of London, Paris or New York and the government immediately folding as in Tunisia, Eqypt. No, and why should it. Send in the riot police and crush them for the sake of the majority I say - that is unless it can be clearly established that the majority are with the rebels.
How can that be established? You tell me.
