If you can keep it

It makes me feel good that there are Republican people with good knowledge,’’ Simpson said. “I feel good about that. Stay away from the social issues. Stay away from abortion and gay marriage. Get on with the action. What the hell? Here we have a Republican Party and a republic. Well, you won’t have a republic if you go broke.’’

Simpson is not exactly a darling with many, but I admire his candor, even as I reflexively recoil from his sometimes too-quick to compromise attitude.

I am a conservative Christian, and I agree with his statement. The federal government is charged by the states in the US Constitution to manage fiscal matters, coin money and regulate its value. It had done a horrible job.

The same constitution says nothing about regulating the morals of the people. God forbid the government try. Based on how badly it has screwed everything else up, it would end up converting us all to witchcraft and devil worship.

The people comprising govt may feel the need to RAISE consciousness and convice(abortion might be murder after all douchebags we CANNOT KNOW, or not), but when they say something about marriage and an amendment, they are all talking in the wrong galaxy and I'm on the other side.

Social issues have NO PLACE IN THE DISCUSSION ANYMORE. ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ALMOST INVARIABLY COME FROM PRACTITIONERS OF SINS, SUPREME
