Muslim extremists keen to impose Shariah in Britain are threatening to kill women who refuse to wear the veil, according to the Daily Mail in London. Even non-Muslim women are being targeted in the east London borough of Tower Hamlets, the Daily Mail reported.

Taliban members told one pharmacy worker in the area that the store would face a boycott if she did not wear a veil, according to the newspaper. When the 31-year-old went to the press with her story, a man went back to the pharmacy and told her: "If you keep doing these things, we are going to kill you."

The woman, who says she is not a practicing Muslim, said the pharmacy owners have told her to take a vacation, and she now fears that she she may lose her job.

"Why should I wear a hijab [headscarf] or burqa?" she told the Daily Mail. "I haven't done anything wrong.'

Police are investigating a spate of incidents in Tower Hamlets, home to large communities of immigrants mainly from Bangladesh and Somalia. Gays also reportedly have been targeted with stickers on walls stating: “Gay free zone. Verily Allah is severe in punishment.”

In addition, a clothing store's posters showing women in bikinis have been daubed with white paint. Three men have been charged with religiously aggravated damage.

Commander Paul Rickett, the senior policeman in the borough, said: "I am saddened that there are a small minority of people who do not wish to respect the lifestyle choices of others.”

Will,

Obviously, they are already trying to do that. The question is, how far will we let them go?
