But they never follow it to its logical conclusion among humans

LA Times:

The world’s biggest problem? Too many people

Our unsustainable population levels are depleting resources and denying a decent future to our descendants. We must stop the denial.

Think back on what you talked about with friends and family at your last gathering. The latest game of your favorite team? “American Idol”? An addictive hobby? The new movie blockbuster? In a serious moment, maybe job prospects, Afghanistan, the economic mess? We live in an information-drenched environment, one in which sports and favorite programs are just a click away. And the ease with which we can do this allows us to focus on mostly comforting subjects that divert our attention from increasingly real, long-term problems.Notice that we didn’t mention climate change above, or the exploding population/consumption levels that are triggering it — the two major factors threatening humanity’s future. Sure, if you’re not too far from the Western wildfires or Midwestern floodplains, the conversation might have turned to the crazy weather that is finally forcing some media to actually talk about climate change in the context of daily events. But population? Get out. Way too inconvenient a truth.

There is a way too many rats in a cage is always solved. The way WE have always solved such pressures though not in a totally macro manner.

I wonder if these insane monors, who ACTUALLY REGARD HUMANITY AS AN INFESTATION, realize what they are calling for. THIS IS EARTH, not some logical, peaceborne imaginary planet

From the article:

The U.S. approach to population issues across all levels of government, in terms of such things as education, attacks on family planning and tax deductions for children, is an exercise in thoughtlessness. The ramifications, however, are far more insidious and brutal. Women are culturally conditioned daily to welcome the idea of having children — plural, not one or none.

Sure, there's much talk and concern that birthrates are down and will result in not enough workers to support the elderly. But this argument is overblown; after all, a 70-year-old can be more economically productive than a 7-year-old.

I'm not a big fan of Free Republic, and came across THIS in the comments thread when I Googled Mary Ellen Harte:

So kill yourself. Talk as many of your friends into it as well.

and

Any time you hear someone say that "there are too many people", you may be sure that they mean "there are too many other people".

I've been doing a bit of research on Agenda 21. Google search it.

"All these third-worlders need to stop fucking so much," ..more children in VERY POOR SOCIETIES EVEN TODAY, while creating a problem NOW for some parents = more security for them later in life because there are a greater # of children to support them in old age.

So it has ever been. So it shall ever be. Ultimate 401k, dude.

What's your idea to replace it?

I say we DRILL like there's no tmw, plant like there's no tmw, and EXPLORE THE SHIT OUT OF WHAT DIED ABOUT 6 AM DST East COAST today .. otherwise, we just wait for the BIG ONE.

Sooner or later WE HAVE TO GO. Not SCI FI. FACT.

Visited the Georgia GuideStones. One line says "Limit the world population to 500 million people"(think I got the # right.)
Standing near me was a 20-something reading out loud.
At the 'limit' he remarked "What a great idea. There are too many people."

I didn't bother to tell him he and none of his friends or family would be in that number.

Hey Epa,
A couple years back you put up a post about a man who was one of the unappreciated geniuses, and most important men of the 20th century. He had invented something (I believe it had to do with genetically modifying plants) so that we could grow enough food to feed the world.

Who was this man, and could you give me a link to that post?

The Ga. GuideStones are large granite monoliths set up in a field outside of Elberton(?) Georgia. They have some New World Order/Humanistic '10 commandments' written on them in 5(?) different languages. Set up ~25yrs ago under very mysterious circumstances.
Wiki has a good article on the GGS.
Just ck'd but I'm not correcting what I had already typed.
