Anti-Anti-Islam

We often hear "everything changed after 9/11." What's changed in the last 10 years?
In today's mainstream culture it is nearly impossible to express apprehensions about the religion of Islam. Catholicism and Evangelical Christianity are fair game. Islam is off limits. Critical examination of Islam is strictly forbidden by the doctrine that pre-ordains only happy-talk when it comes to what is arguably a supremacist ideology founded by a political and military leader.

Our Western tradition, going back to Socrates, demands that all beliefs be subjected to a critical analysis before they are accepted as knowledge. It still remains a core purpose of a liberal arts education; many institutions required a course in "critical thinking." In principle, any position can be critically examined. However, in practice, only anti-Islam can be "deconstructed" and damned. And the conclusion is mandated before the examination is undertaken.

Charges of bigotry, prejudice, and racism (what race?) are hurled at anyone who entertains a negative appraisal of some aspect of Islam. No matter how many atrocities jihadis commit and how extensively they quote the Koran and Hadith, the conclusion is, once again, preordained: Islam has nothing to do with it.

The default state of an "unbeliever" appears to be "ignorance"; muslims will always throw "you are ignorant" at anyone with an understanding of islam, but it is impossible for anyone but a muslim to be anything but "ignorant". Nothing to do with knowledge - merely another barrier that islam uses as a shield against criticism.

This state of political correctness will eventually be our downfall.

Unlike in the 40's, when rightly or wrongly, our government chose to be safe rather than sorry and kept a close watch on any Japanese on our land.

To me, the biggest problem today is the unwillingness of those in our country to see Islam as our enemy in a war.

I read there was an anti-anti slavery idea prevalent in the North in decades preceding the civil war--the motivation being not to disturb lucrative trade with southern states.

Great commentary.

Sshhh! It's the "religion" of peace! Don't say anything or they'll kill you! Nothing here, move along says America's newspapers and politicians.

Islam is off limits for all the wrong reasons. Our nations' security personnel cannot properly identify either the enemy or his doctrine. Appeasement? Yes. Surely that is an element for such cowardice. However, there is a more sinister less apparent reason for such limits. Directly after 9/11, the overwhelming majority of citizens understood little to nothing about Islam. With the increasing absence of msm scrutiny of jihad, Islam, sharia etc., people found it increasingly difficult to dismiss daily reports of Islam related violence and upset. The "Islam is Peace" mantra gradually wore painfully thin, and the "small minority of extremists" ran it's course as the daily tally of jihad/islam related body bags piled up.

Finally realizing no amount of appeasement or contrition for perceived grievances would satisfy the blood lust of Islams followers, growing numbers of painfully frustrated non-muslims decided to investigate the subject matter beyond the government & msm's control of information. Logical explanations using accurate terminology like "jihad" & "sharia" lead to valuable information from Islamic texts and sources resulting with a degree of satisfaction and understanding. Hence, blogs like this one became a thorn to the pc establishment who then attempted to erase familiarity with such illuminating terminology.
The effort to deny facts from the general population might have succeeded in the days prior to the internet. If not for the thankless efforts of bloggers like IBA, the general public no longer accepts the govt. &/or msm status quo. The days of "man-made-disaster" readily replacing the the most effective and accurate terminology as used by this enemy are over.
It's obvious when you think about the pre-10th anniversary of 9/11 massive coordinated efforts highlighting "Islamophobia" and "Xenophobia", & "sharia is innocuous and compatible with the Constitution" efforts as well as "Tea Party-phobia" prior to the 2012 election cycle.
Progressives have utterly failed in convincing the majority and are rapidly descending into the depths of desperation .

Keep telling the truth as it is.
Your success may not be as obvious as we'd like it to be sometimes, but the truth is winning.
