Obama's Department of Justice Sues, Forces School District to Pay $75,000 to Hajj-tripping Muslim Teacher
In the continuing islamization of the Department of Justice, Obama's DoJ filed a lawsuit against a Chicago-area school district for not allowing a Muslim teacher to take time off to make a religious pilgrimage to Mecca, thereby abandoning her students for a month. The school needed her and said no. She was the only math lab teacher, a new hire on probation. Why take a job you can't do? Why take a job that you plan on leaving for a month? Islamic supremacism. The DoJ sued the school, forcing the district to pay $75,000 in lost back pay, compensatory damages and attorneys’ fees. Your taxpayer dollars at work to sue, to lose, to pay 75K in jizya.
Safoorah Khan had taught middle school math for only nine months in this tiny Chicago suburb when she made an unusual request. She wanted three weeks off for a pilgrimage to Mecca. The school district, faced with losing its only math lab instructor during the critical end-of-semester marking period, said no. Khan, a devout Muslim, resigned and made the trip anyway.Click on the title to read the whole thing at Atlas Shrugs.

Any teacher who has a child of bar/bat mitzvah age should also demand equal justice and get their $75k teacher's bonus & 3 week vacay to conduct this mitzvah in Israel at the appropriate time for their child. Given the threat to Israel's very existence, and the once-in-a-lifetime milestone marked by the birthdate of the child, the urgency for such a leave is far more valid than that afforded to Safoorah Khan who could go on a hajj any time.
If this district doesn't apply the same consideration to all religious beliefs, then Safoorah Khan's con should be reversed by courts immediately.
what about the economic crisis?
disgusting!
Having 9 months of employment with a school system shouldn't give an employee any such pass -- religious or otherwise.
Indeed, teacher contracts are supposed to have clauses to that effect. Usually, a teacher contract allows only 3 paid days of personal leave per year.
BTW, when I taught in the county school system, we couldn't bank our personal leave days -- only our sick leave days. After all, we had plenty of summer days to take our vacations or other personal leave matters.
In the time following the era of Mutually Assured Destruction, there was apparently some question as to just how much madness might be injected into a political system before it could be made to fly apart.
Many free humans, suffering from an advanced form of political correctness - a mental "stuxnet" of sorts - sought to placate the implacable enemy by bending over in abject appeasement.
And so once again many that need not have died in the fire of war were consigned to that undeserved fate.
