There's No Such Thing As Moderate Islam?
There is not a single moderate Muslim political oragnization, media outlet, acacedmic institution, or government, of any appreciable size, anywhere in the world.
Please, prove me wrong. I would feel better about the world, if you can.

If you agree with my statement, please you pass it around the blogosphere? Maybe we'll get to the bottom of this.
If not, well then, the sooner the real war comes, the better it will be for all of us, because fewer people will die.

P,
Would appreciate your definition of word 'moderate'.
Thank You.
I'm discussing Islam as an Institutional Power.
As the question is posed, are there any Islamic institutions who are moderate?
What is your answer?
I have a definition of religious moderation for you ..
Moderate religion = one which acknowledges the people are sovereign, and thus obeys AND UPHOLDS (even when voicing objection) the secular laws
There are moderate Muslim organizations like CAIR who only popup for MODERATION to tell infidels that they just misunderstood Islam. That when a Muslim, a moderate and a nice individual usually, murders innocent non Muslims, its in fact the Muslims who are the victims here.
But I have a feeling, Pastorius, that you're looking for ACTUAL moderate muslim organizations and in that case, I'm afraid, you'll be looking forever and not find a one.
1. Which one is it ;
an Institutional Power which is moderate (by whose standard?)
or
An institution which follows religious tenets, yet UPHOLDS (even when voicing objection) the secular laws?
2. By saying 'by whose standard', even Singapore's secular law doesn't recognize same-sex marriage and the Singapore Government condemns sexual coverage in the internet (among others). Going by that logic, do we agree that Singapore is an Islamic state?
Why don't you participate in a conversation rather than being a school marm lecturing us.
I'm not going to play by your rules, Abdoos.
Answer the question, and participate, or don't comment.
Abdoos, if the people are sovereign, and have stupid laws, then it's their fault, and they can change it. We've had plenty of stupid laws. We've changed lots of them.
If ANY religion adheres to the idea that their document is a perfect construct from a perfect being, and it's law IS the law, then any act based on what that construct says is permissible and the will of the people means nothing, against a set of values which CAN NEVER CHANGE.
Either the people are sovereign, or the document is.
Binary.
