Why Is The NRA NOT Speaking Out On The Nationwide Shortage of Ammunition?

Anyone have any theories?

Two to start with:

1) There is no ammunition shortage ... it's all just anecdotal stories adding up to nothing

2) The NRA doesn't care as long as they collect membership dues?

Google search the following:

I can't find a link right way but i remember reading when the first 'news' about the DHS huge ammo order came out that this order would result in a shortage of ammo.
It hard to get rid of the feeling this is 'coordinated'.

I tend to think we are doin it to ourselves, at least in part. The panic buying of the guns after Newtown would have a corresponding panic buying of ammo.

Following AoW's search I found the following:

HuffPo:

Massad Ayoob writing nearly a year ago:

And there's more if you follow that search.

Meaning, as far as the NRA goes, while it's not just anecdotal (although that one forum I linked seems to bear that out a bit) they may not be convinced it's because of the gov't, at least not solely.

The feds orders were for 40 S&W and 9mm, not 38 spcl where I (as well as AoW's friend) are having problems.

And remember, this happened as well in 2008 riht before BO took office. It was many many months before the ammo flow was back to normal. And that was all panic buying.

(Or wise planning if you ask me).
