The blurring of the line between fact and fiction
I've referenced this movie a number of times over the years mentioning, from my limited telecomm background, there was more fact in the details than most would like to admit.
In light of yesterday's "revelations" -- and not just Verizon but the much more invasive intrusive and insidious PRISM program -- I thought this would be a god time to post the whole thing.
So if you have the time and are so inclined, sit back and enjoy.
And remember this is pre-9/11, over 15 years ago during a different Democratic administration.

Thanks for posting the video.
As I watch the film, I was a bit stunned to hear this freaky bit of trivia to be pointed out - in response to your note:
"remember this is pre-9/11"
ff to 1:31:57 in film and listen as Gene Hackman's character (Edward Lyle, ex-NSA techie) discovers the identity of the movies current NSA villain played by John Voight. . .a character identified as Thomas Brian Reynolds, born 9/11/40.
Yeah, I caught that too a few years ago.
