24 Days

The Iran NUCLEAR ARMS CASH AND WEAPONS DEVELOPMENT AND PURCHASE TREATY (that’s what it is) specifies that if the USA or another power wants to inspect a site in Iran, they have 24 days to VOLUNTARILY COMPLY.

I thought it might be interesting to take a look at what can happen in the military domain in 24 days.

1864 - Grant moves his ENTIRE CAMPAIGN from the Battle of the Wilderness, Chancellorsville - to Richmond at Gaines Mills/Cold Harbor. He fought major battles involving ~175,000 or more men at EACH of the Wilderness, North Anna, Spotsylavnia Court House and Cold Harbor.

A week later he was at Petersburg and the end of the South.
1914 - The Germans invaded and conquered ALL of Belgium and 24 days after they began were in France and caused the huge retreat all the way to the Marne, NEAR PARIS

1950 - in 24 days the North Koreans swept over HALF of South Korea and were busy defeated the USA and South Korea at the Battle of Sangju causing the retreat all the way to the Pusan pocket.

I’d count the ENTIRE Cuban Missile Crisis, BUT THAT WAS ONLY 14 DAYS

1864 - Sherman and 60,000 men marched from Atlanta to Savannah in 24 days, but didn’t take possession until the December 20th, and BROKE hte will of the South ..in 24 days.

1941-42 The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor destroying the US Pacific Battle Force, took Wake Island, Guam, invaded the Philippines and bottled up the isolated and abandoned US forces pushed halfway down the Bataan Peninsula, took Manila, Subic Bay, sank the British Repulse and Prince of Wales invaded and conquered more than half the entire Malay Peninsula and were less than 100 miles from Singapore. IN 24 DAYS.

Can there be any doubt about what the Iranians can accomplish in 24 days?
