From the New York Times:
RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The regulars did not take it seriously when Enrique Marquez mused about terrorism at Morgan’s Tavern, a dank dive bar where he hauled ice, cleaned bathrooms and checked IDs at the door.
After a few drinks, he would just start talking – about his money woes, trying to lose weight, wanting to join the Navy. News reports about terror were just fodder for more bar talk.
“He would say stuff like: ‘There’s so much going on. There’s so many sleeper cells, so many people just waiting. When it happens, it’s going to be big. Watch,’” said Nick Rodriguez, a frequent patron who had known Mr. Marquez on and off for the past two years.
“We took it as a joke. When you look at the kid and talk to him, no one would take him seriously about that.”
But nine days after a husband and wife gunned down 14 people at a county health department meeting, Mr. Marquez, 24, a childhood friend of the husband, Syed Rizwan Farook, has become a crucial if unlikely figure in the investigation of the attack — which was just the kind he would discuss when terrorism news reports flashed onto the tavern’s television.
Since he was a child growing up in a single-level beige home here in Riverside, Mr. Marquez fastened himself to Mr. Farook and his family. He and Mr. Farook tinkered with cars in their driveways. He converted to Islam and attended some of the same mosques as the Farook family.
When Mr. Farook’s older brother, Raheel, married a Russian woman named Tatiana Gigliotti, Mr. Marquez was one of the witnesses. The other was Mr. Farook.
Last year, Mr. Marquez married the Russian sister of Raheel Farook’s wife. He later told a friend and people at the bar that it was a sham marriage for immigration purposes. He told bar patrons he had been paid $5,000 or $10,000 to marry Ms. Gigliotti’s sister, Mariya Chernykh.
He announced the arrangement one day when he came into the bar — which the F.B.I. visited this week — and offered to buy everyone drinks, Mr. Rodriguez, the bar patron, said. It was unusual behavior for Mr. Marquez, who was perpetually short of money. Sometimes he could not afford gas for his car, or he asked people to buy him drinks.UPDATE -

some more on his employment background:
"After leaving Power Security, Marquez was hired by United Security Services in Corona, where he made about $9 an hour as an unarmed security guard, mostly working nights on patrol at construction sites or warehouses.
Things started out well for Marquez at the firm, according to the man who hired him, and after two months he was put in charge of the work schedule for about 15 other guards. But Marquez struggled with the responsibility: he forgot when other guards were on vacation; shifts were missed.
“He couldn’t handle the step up,” said the man, an account manager at United Security who asked not to be named. “He just couldn’t take the stress.”
Three months after starting on July 11, 2013, Marquez was gone, company records show.
He subsequently worked security at a local bar. Then, up until the time of the shooting, he worked at a Walmart Supercenter in Corona checking receipts of departing customers. At Walmart, fellow employee Ashlee Sims, 25, described him as somewhat withdrawn and “awkward.”

Tying the hands of investigators by forbiding "profiling of Muslims" Interesting.
Has anyone read about any arrests related to the San Bernardino terror jihad yet? Is this just another indication that the current-occupants-of-the-oval-office determine which groups/individuals in this country are somehow entitled to certain jihad related civil liberties?
Syed Farook’s friend (also related by marriage): “There’s so many sleeper cells, so many people just waiting”...this is the same friend who converted to Islam and was coincidentally related by marriage to all three Syed Farooqs. Those two brides">worked in the Montebello mall, one sister owned the kiosk in which her sister sold cell phone cases.
Oh, and this 'friend' of Syed is allegedly the individual who purchased the weapons for him.
However, there are these little details which keep nagging to be repeated....
Fiorina: This is an unspeakable tragedy: MSNBC: ff 5:10 "...ATF believes that someone purchased this gun on behalf of the police dept. and somehow ended up in the hands of this guy. So it
doesn't sound at all like this guy legally purchased a firearm."
and
Recall how the landlord of Farooq's apt. was cleared by local LE, and an immediate media circus gained access to rifle through an active crime scene?
ff 0:15 MSNBC video of journalists entering the apt... ..and take note of the photos of local law enforcement police with children found remaining in that apt. Farooq had only one child, a six month old infant. What relation to the Farooq's were the children - or for that matter, the police in those photos?
Are these cased related in any way?

There are several mosques/islamic community centers nearby, indicating there is a significant muslim demographic being served by those establishments.
How much has affirmative action/pc/mc played in the hiring of local law enforcement? Is this investigation tainted by such infiltration? Would any other scene related to a
mass terror murder be left to the discretion of property owners before the investigation is concluded?
Something stinks to high heaven in San Bernardino, especially in regards to this investigation.

CELL PHONE SALES Continue To Explode In More Missouri Towns, As Many As Seven Towns At This Count
What's the special deal with cell phones that attracts Middle Eastern types from Michigan to travel out of state to buy en masse?
The FBI is aware of reports of men visiting Walmart stores in several cities in Missouri and purchasing or trying to purchase large quantities of cellular telephones. An FBI spokeswoman won’t say exactly how much its agents are delving into the purchases. Some of the cities where the purchases and attempted purchases are reported by Ava police say a man of Middle Eastern background bought a large number of cellular telephones at the Walmart store in Ava about 6:15 a.m. last Saturday. Police questioned the man, who was from Michigan, and he told them that he is a businessman. Police found no reason to detain him.
That purchase was about three hours after two men bought 60 cell phones at the Walmart store in Lebanon. Officers there questioned the men, at least one of whom said he is from Michigan, according to Ava police. Laclede County Sheriff Wayne Merritt said officers also found no reason to detain the cell phone buyers in Lebanon.
An Ava Police Department spokeswoman said her department’s officers also have heard of a similar purchase of a large number of cell phones at a Walmart store in Columbia. She said it’s possible that all three purchases are related and by the same en.
A TV station in Kansas City reported similar purchases or attempted purchases in Macon and Jefferson City. A TV station in Jefferson City reported similar purchases at stores in Jackson and Cape Girardeau, as well as other cities.
After an earlier version of this story was posted on Thursday afternoon, the Marshfield police chief called to say that a man who gave a Michigan address made a similar purchase of a 19 prepaid cell phones
in his city in October. The chief said that man gave a false tax exempt waiver form to the store and bought the phones without sales taxes. (read the rest at the link)
