All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

Infidel Hunk of the Week
Well, in the spirit of "going Dutch" this week, I've chosen one of the hottest men ever to come out of the Netherlands, probably the hottest. I know, he got a bit, um, chubby for a while, but in his prime, could there have been a hotter man? I had some trouble finding the pics I wanted on this, but hey, Rutget Hauer is Rutger Hauer. Pretty much any pic will do.

I don't understand.
;-)
Damn I'm....well, you know....
Everyone knows him from Blade Runner. He's also worth noting for having portrayed top Nazi architect Albert Speer in the HBO movie Inside the Third Reich.
btw, Derek Jacobi's Hitler in that HBO movie is absolutely fearsome. There's one long scene of him giving a speech -- designed to show how enthralling the fascist demagogue was. Worth watching just for that scene!
jeremay--I love his portrayal of Speer, and also of Russian prisoner Sasha in "Escape From Sobibor". I personally thought his beauty physically was more apparent in "Night Hawks" and Ladyhawke, not to mention his totally nude scenes (!) in his early Dutch films. But I was pressed for time in finding pics, and he was gorgeous in Blade Runner as well.
He's done so many silly films as well that he has unfortunately attained status for his willingness to play parts in silly sci-fi films among others, and many of his excellent work is ignored. "Fatherland" is another example of him doing a wonderful job, and he was HILARIOUS in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". But oh well, the Roy Batty pic was what I could find at the time.
Damn, Pim's Ghost, you are the Rutger Hauer fan! Forgot about Nighthawks (doesn't Stallone gets his throat slit in that one?) RH was also in a European adaptation of Joseph Roth's The Holy Drinker. (A still from that on the cover of my edition of the novel.)
Yeah, my Mom was in LOVE with Rutger and I was raised watching him. Well, not so much his Dutch films. I still want to see Soldier of Orange though, which I'll probably have to just find online. Supposed to be good all the way around. I still love him even though he looks so old now. Heck, I have "Merlin" just because he had a small role (Vortigern).
He was so great in Nighthawks! It was Billy Dee Williams who got the throat slit. But he was great, as was the late Persis Khambata as his terrorist partner. But some of those sci-fi low budget numbers almost made me embarassed for him, like "Blind Fury" (which is popular in a cult classic kind of way) but others far worse from that period. Oh well, gotta pay the bills I suppose. He had gained a LOT of weight.
Still the most beautiful man who has ever lived IMHO. Oh, that face!
