American Government Tries To Squash America's Truth Forum Event

Atlas Shrugs has a report from America's Truth Forum symposium of Islamism in Las Vegas, at which speakers such as Wafa Sultan, Robert Spencer, and Walid Shoebat were advised not to attend by members of the government and media:

Lots of interesting little details, for example more than a couple of speakers were contacted government agencies and by media (in one case CNN) to strongly recommend they not speak at this symposium. It's not enough that the jihad loving media actively deceives the American people of the gravity of Islam fundamentalism by ignoring it or distorting, here you find that are trying to shut truth tellers up.

More than anything that was impressed upon me was
Islam was not so much a religion as it is a political ideology and a violent, oppressive one. More dangerous than any previous threat in world history. And while it was not a political conference, the ramifications of Tuesday night's election results worried the panelists. Many of the speakers came at great personal risk to their safety. All live under constant threat of death.

"I know they want to kill me"

Go over to Pamela's site for video of the event.

Amazing Atlas didn't mention which government officials contacted the panelists.

Inquiring minds want to know specifically who these government officials are and what branch of the American government is involved with attempting to squelch free speech.

I imagine this will be explained away as a security concern. That would be their SECOND mistake. I personally want to know who is involved. These individuals are willing to sacrifice our safety in more ways than I can count. When I find out who and what branch of govt. they represent, I will take the time to locate a copy of their oath of office and start from there.

I WANT NAMES!

Now, that's scarey. I want to know what reason those government agencies gave.

Yeah, I'm guessing their reasoning is "security."

But, the government ought to be praising those who are heroic enough to speak out, not trying to suppress them, no matter what the concerns are.
