In response to unending Palestinian terrorist attacks, Israel orders killing of Hamas politicians

(The Sunday Times) In a desperate attempt to stop the barrage of rockets fired by Hamas at Israeli villages, Ehud Olmert, Israel’s prime minister, has ordered his security chiefs to target the Islamic movement’s political leadership.

According to Israeli security sources, a decision to assassinate leading Hamas politicians was taken by Olmert and his defence minister, Amir Peretz. Early yesterday Israeli missiles struck Hamas targets in Gaza, including a charity run by the group.

Since withdrawing from Gaza more than a year ago, Israel has targeted Hamas’s military activists, but that has not stopped the rockets. Outraged by an attack last Wednesday on the village of Sderot, Israel is determined to ensure the political leadership in Gaza, the West Bank and abroad will “no longer escape responsibility”.

That's great news. Should have been done a long time ago.

I'm somewhat skeptical. Things can change very quickly, as Olmert usually tends to lose balls he's being forced to grow.

Good point. You're right. I forgot about that.

If a normal life of basic security for oneself and ones family is no vialbe in Israel, then Israelis can, should, will, do leave for other places. There's no reason for Israelis to live in Israel if they can't do so without fearing they and their families will be murdered by fascists and Muslim fascists, supported by the majority of the world in word and deed. If Israel isn't able to protect its own people, the people should get the hell out while they can. It would be insane to stay only to be slowly slaughtered. Only a fool would blame Israelis for leaving a place they can't survive in.

if the majority or a large portion of voters continue electing insane representatives who will not or cannot defend the people, then the people should get out fast and leave the nutters to reap the whirlwind of stupidity the nutters have sown.

Yes, I'll be there in the last days. I'll obviously have to use my full name in casual conversations, and that's the highest price I'd have to pay. No price at all. It's the people who leave who'll have to pay the highest price, the loss of the nation that should have been home for the duration.
